Oh So Girly!

This week Sweet Stampin are very happy to announce that we have a special new sponsor

This lovely sponsor is none other than the founder of Sweet Stampin, Emma Lockley. She is still missed in the crafting world (and especially by all the Sweeties), but we wish her all the best with her new etsy shop.

A huge thank you to Emma for donating this FABULOUS prize to this weeks winner...

Not only that, we also have ANOTHER totally fab sponsor this week too!

with the winner being able to choose 4 packs of charms from Crafty Emma's Store

Not forgetting our monthly sponsor of course...

This week is your last chance to be eligible for their prize.

Incase you hadn't already guessed by my title (or been to Sweet Stampin), this weeks theme is called "Oh So Girly!"

Here's my card...

yes, it's the same image that I used last week for Sketch Saturday (it's from Stitchy Bear), it's such a girly image that I just had to use it again this week too, using a different colour palette this time.
Again, I used 3D gloss on the pearls.
The papers are lovely aren't they?
The heart paper is by Dovecraft, from their 'back to basics' collection.
The floral paper is from MME's 'quite contrary' collection.
The lilac paper is just scrap pieces from my stash that I punched with my SU eyelet border punch and added white faux stitching.
The sentiment is by SU too ('best yet' stamp set)

Wotcha reckon.... girly enough?

wait til you see what the other Sweeties have made to delight you (links in the sidebar) >>>

thanks for stopping by xx

..."he's a bloody coward"

'scuse me, but that's what I hear in my head when I see this fab image from Bugaboo lol
It's how Hagrid describes his dog 'Fang' in the first Harry Potter film.

This card follows this weeks sketch over at Sketch Saturday, our sponsor this week is The Craft Barn.
I coloured the image itself with ProMarkers.
The papers are by Dovecraft, from the 'Abstract Prints' collection.
Part of the sketch is represented with a line of eyelets, not clearly seen in the photo, but looks fab in real life, i'm really happy with how this turned out :)
And i'm really happy with the cards made by the awesome SS design team too!
Please go see for yourself >>>

I'd like to enter this card into the current challenge at ABC challenges - O is for Ovals, and the challenge over at Passion for ProMarkers - one for the boys.

Emma... don't look any further!

To be honest, I don't think my daughter will see this post, she isn't a crafter, and although she does support me, and asks me to make cards occasionally, she doesn't have the craft bug herself. She rarely visits my blog, but does see my facebook page so I must remember not to upload it on fb at all until after her special day.
So i'm pretty safe in saying that she won't see this card until she is given it on her 21st birthday which isn't until April 23rd!
but just incase... Emma, if you are seeing this post, don't look any further....go away! lol

The reason for showing this card early is that this week Sketch Saturday is sponsored by Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps, and I was very generously given this fab image to use on my card this week, it's a perfect image for my daughters 21st card (& yes, she loves the colour red)...

I've coloured the image with ProMarkers, adding some 3D clear gloss to the pearls.
The patterned papers are by Stampin Up from their patterns pack in the colour of Real Red, and I used my SU eyelet border punch on the black cardstock.
I used flatback clear gems to make the sparkly '21' and the sentiment is handwritten.
I originally wanted to thread ribbon through the five metal eyelets but it didn't look right to me so decided to leave it without ribbon. I think the eyelets still look good though. Actually, I'm really happy how this card turned out, I hope Emma likes it too.

There's no sweet stampin card from me this week as it's the turn of Team Fluff to inspire you. This weeks challenge is 'Red, White & Blue' and we are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps this week.
Not forgetting of course our monthly sponsor for February... Quixotic Paperie.

One extra bit of Sweetie news!... do you fancy guest designing with Team Carrie on the 26th March? we are asking our challengers to 'Pick a Theme' and leave a comment on this post, along with a way of contacting you, before 8pm on the 23rd Feb :)

Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a lovely weekend xx

Love Bugs

This weeks Sweet Stampin challenge has been chosen by Team Carrie Sweetie... CherylAnn, and is called 'Love Bugs', your entry must include a bug of some sort.
Here's mine...

The main image is from Prairie Fairy, as are the little butterflies too, but they are a seperate image and have been cut out and stuck on afterwards.
You can find both these images and more in their bugs 'n' blooms section.
Prairie Fairy are also sponsoring our challenge this week, and gave us a selection of images to use on our cards this week (many thanks!)
The leafy paper is from Provocrafts Bitty scrap pad called 'windswept' and I thought it would be a great backdrop to the lovely images. The sentiment is from SU's Yummy stamp set.

The rest of the 'sweeties' have more love bug cards for you, if you haven't already, please go see for yourself, there's such a fab mix of styles :)

On a completely different note, our shed on wheels car has its MOT today, we know it's going to fail but we don't know how much it's going to cost us yet. We need a lottery win so we can get rid of it, but I suppose it would help if we actually bought a ticket eh?

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you all have a lovely weekend xx

Sketch Saturday #142

I LOVE 'beer monster' I think he's one of my fave images for male cards, but maybe that's because most of the men I know are beer monsters!!
He's a dream to colour (I used SU markers this time) and a bargain at only 99p from Pollycraft.

This card was made using this weeks sketch at Sketch Saturday...

I printed and coloured his hand/glass again, and it is mounted on 3d foam.
The papers are by Nitwit collections, and were free with simply cards and papercraft mag, and they are a fab mix of blues, greens and browns, just the colours I wanted for this and all I added was a bit of faux stitching to define the shapes in the sketch.

This week our challenge is sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp!
So to be in with a chance of winning a whopping $25 to spend in store you need to take part in this weeks challenge...easy peasy! ;)

My fellow SS sisters have been busy with this weeks sketch too, please stop by to say hello and drool over their brilliant cards while you're visiting. Not forgetting our fab guest designer for the month of February.... Debbie

Thanks for looking, i'll be back in a mo with my sweet stampin DT card...

Maya's sketch

This week is DT week over at Sketch Saturday and it's the turn our very talented Maya to provide the fab sketch for us.

Our sponsor this week is Tickled Pink Stamps who are very generously offering this weeks winner 3 Tickled pink digi stamps of their own choosing :)

Here is my card...

I've used this adorable image available from Tickled Pink Stamps, she is called Birthday Cherrie, and is a dream to colour with my promarkers.
I printed the image 3 times to create the 3d effect.
The papers are by SU's Tea Party pack.
I added the hand drawn border to replicate the strings of the balloons and added gems for a bit of bling!
The sentiments are handwritten.

I'd love to enter this card into the following challenges:

Creative Card Crew - Pink and Purple
I love ProMarkers - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Use a Digi

Our SS guest designer for the month of February is Debbie, she is the sponsor co-ordinator for Tickled Pink Stamps, and we are looking forward to seeing what she makes throughout February with our sketches, welcome Debbie! :)

No Sweet Stampin card from me this week, but Team Fluff are showcasing Spring Flowers this week, the challenge set by Yvonne, our competition winner. You'll be blown away by the beautiful cards our talented sweeties have made :)

Thanks for stopping by today,
Enjoy your weekend! xx
