Laura's 22nd

My daughter, Laura, will be 22 this Wednesday. She's a girly girl and loves pink, hearts, kitties... you get the idea, so this image and these papers were perfect for her birthday card from us this year...

The image is a digi by Saturated Canary and is called Jules, coloured with promarkers. I'm not at all happy with her hair, it's the one area I need to practice on, and maybe get some more colours to achieve better results. That said, I am happy with how this card turned out. It's very Laura.
The 4 patterned papers used are digi's too, called Cuckoo 4 U, this colourway is 'strawberry love'. I've also printed out some more papers from this collection but in the 'true blue' colourway, but that's for another card for another day ;)
Punches used: Xcut 'sparkle' (border), and 2 woodware heart punches.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Sketch Saturday - sketch #256
Crafting When We Can - personalise it
Crafty Sentiments Designs - monochromatic
Digital Tuesday Challenge - birthdays, use a digi
Crafting By Designs - anything goes
Pennys challenge - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp challenge - anything goes

Now off to make an engagement card for Laura and her fiance Richard. Yep, he's proposed! :)

Thanks for looking xx

Tracey's first DT week

Good morning all :)
As the title says, this week is Tracey's first DT week over at Sketch Saturday. And boy has she provided us with a fantastic sketch!
This week we're sponsored by Saturated Canary, and you could be the lucky owner of 2 images from Krista's etsy shop if you're our challenge winner this week.
Krista very kindly let The Saturdays choose an image each to use on our cards this week.
Thank you so much Krista xx
I chose the lovely Carrington, as soon as I saw this image I thought of my daughter Emma, she is a proper bookworm and has beautiful big brown eyes.

I flipped the image before printing it out so that the books would be stacked above the sentiment, only I didn't realise until I started to colour that doing so would make it look as though some of the books have labels on the back instead of the front, so I just coloured them in the same colour as the book covers.
I should have flipped the whole sketch design instead eh? silly me.
I used a mixture of promarkers and pencils on this image.
I will probably cut out some scrap papers and give the books new snazzy covers before Emma receives it from Jake, but there's no rush, this card isn't needed until 23rd April.
Papers are all Stella Rose 'Hattie'. I paper pricked the edges of the base paper and used my white gel pen to create the faux stitching.

Sketch Saturday has a new guest designer joining us this week, Cor* will be showcasing a card with us each week throughout March :)
Please stop by the blogs of Cor* and The Saturdays, as always, there's loads more inspiration to be found!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp challenges - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes

Thanks for looking, hope you have a fab weekend xx
