Happy Birthday RJ :)

We have 3 wonderful grandsons. The middle one, Richard Jnr (RJ), is 3 today.
This is his card...

This image is Mo's Two Toby, and even though RJ is 3, he found being 2 quite an ordeal, the terrible 2's as they call it, was something that we as a family certainly can relate to, as i'm sure many families across the world can relate to also.
This image reminds me so much of him through this past year, so I just had to use it. I know it will make my daughter and son-in-law giggle, although they were not laughing at the time as you can imagine, lol.
I coloured the image with promarkers, then fussy cut around it.
The papers are Perfectly Plaid (Rainbow), and Watercolor Wishes.
Other supplies are: By the Number die (Die-namics), Crafts Too die (Grandson), Craftwork Cards (Label Tape Sentiments), Sizzix sticthed oval thinlit die, and a stitched star die.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Seven Hills Crafts October challenge - sketch
I love Promarkers - use dies
Crafty Creations - anything goes

and here is RJ's card made for Uncle Jake to give to him...

RJ's new love is Paw Patrol, so I had to make a card with Chase on it.
I grabbed the image off Google (it's for personal use only), and coloured it with promarkers.
I embossed the background with a paw print folder by Darice, and the starry paper is by Doodlebug (hip Hip Hooray).
I hand cut the shield, then added Dienamics letters on top.
'Nephew' is from an old stamp set by Clearly Besotted Stamps (For everyone).

I'd like to enter this card at:
Sketch Saturday - sketch #484
Passion for Promarkers - embossing

For my friend...

I wanted to make my doggy loving friend a birthday card using some of the stamps from my Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs stamp set...

I coloured the images with promarkers before fussy cutting them out.
The background was made using a paw print embossing folder by Darice, and I used a spellbinders die to cut a frame into the front of the card.
The sentiment is made from stamps by Craftwork Cards (Label Tape Sentiments), and a Clearly Besotted word die.

I'm entering this card at:
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes

Clearly Besotted Love Quotes

I was rummaging through my stamp sets the other day, and found one that I haven't used for quite a while... Love Quotes by Clearly Besotted Stamps.
Here's a couple of cards that I've made using it...

I stamped the flowers using Memento inks, then cut them out using the matching dies.
The background was made using a wood grain stamp from Kaisercraft, and a script stamp from Imagination Crafts.
The sentiment is from Stampin Up's 'Bring on the cake' stamp set.
............

This simple card used papers that are all from the same pad by Lawn Fawn (Let's Polka in the Meadow), and the sentiment stamp is from an old set by All Night Media.

Thanks for looking, have a great weekend xx

Hello Baby Connor!

He's here, He's here!!  :)

Our new grandbaby, Connor, born at 00:08 today, weighing 7lb 15oz.
Mother and baby both very well.
We almost shared a birthday, it was mine yesterday, but he wanted his own special day. Still, the best. birthday. present...... EVER!
I feel so blessed that I was there at his birth, and that I was asked to cut his cord. *So proud!*

He's such a handsome little chap, and absolutely perfect. I instantly fell in love again as soon as I saw him.
I'm sorry, I can't share any photos online, even though I would love to show you how beautiful my 3 grandchildren are.

I had this card made ready last week, so happy that I can now share it :)
When Connor's brother, RJ was born, I made this card for his arrival, and I wanted to use the same layout for Connor's card too...

I also decided to use papers that although aren't identical, they are from the same paper pad, oh and a stamp from Lili of the Valley too, although not the same image.
The stamp used here is called Sleepy Time. Unfortunately, the stamp is retired now though :(
I stamped with Memento black ink, and coloured it with promarkers.
The papers are from Snips & Snails, by Doodlebug.
'baby' is a word die by Clearly Besotted Stamps.

I stamped it first of all using Memento Desert Sand ink, then lay down some base colour with promarkers, Finally, I added details and shading with pencils...

I've teamed up this lil cutie with patterned paper is from Hello Sunshine by Doodlebug Designs.
The dies used here are word dies by Clearly Besotted Stamps, and an ornate circle die by Spellbinders.

FTHS sketch challenge #161

A fresh new week, and we're back with a fresh new I {heart}sketches challenge for From The Heart Stamps :)
Here's sketch #161...

The twist is 'Birthday Cake', and there is also an option of using the colour palette shown above the sketch, if you wish to use them. So you can choose the sketch, the twist, the colours... or have a go at all 3 if you'd like to!
One lucky challenger will win 2 images of their choice from the store :)
Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible for the random draw, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too. Thanks :)

Here's my card...

This fun image is Party Hat Birdbrain, and comes with 7 sentiments, though I haven't used one here because I wanted to add a die-cut sentiment for this occasion, roughly placing 'birthday' where the sentiment is on the sketch (if you flip the sketch that is).
I glued the BB image to the front of a shaker element.
These pretty papers are all from the same pad, Sugar Shoppe, by Doodlebug.
The borders I added, have been punched using a diamond border punch by Xcut.
21 was cut using Die-namics dies, and birthday is a Clearly Besotted word die.
A little sparkle was added to the 21, shaker frame, and birdbrain's eyes and beak with a Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen.

I'm entering this card at:
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes
Fab 'n' Funky Challenges - birds
Crafts Galore Encore - anything goes

Thanks for looking xx

Beer & Kitties...

Last month was my husbands birthday. So i'm sharing the cards that I made for him.
Dave and our cat, Tickle, are the best of friends. She snuggles up to him every chance she gets, and if she isn't in when he gets in from work, he soon has the door open, calling her home.
So I made this card for his birthday....

I used 'Crazy Cats' stamps by Tim Holtz, colouring the images to look like our Tickle.
I cut out the word HAPPY with Die-namics dies and glued them to more white card, adding 'birthday' beneath it (a word die from Clearly Besotted Stamps).
The patterned paper is by Basic Grey (Life of the Party), and the word husband was cut from one of my own designs Ticket Sentiments.

This is the card I made for Jake to give to him...

I've used 'Cheers' from DigiStamp Boutique, coloured with Promarkers, and paired it with this fantastic paper which was free with Making Cards craft magazine (May 2016, if you are able to order a back issue).
DAD was cut using an alphabet die, free with a different craft magazine (I forget which one).
I used Spellbinders 'Curved Rectangles' dies for the shape of this card.

Thanks for looking, see you on Monday for a new FTHS sketch challenge :)

Pop up box card.

Last week I bought one of these...

and because of work, as well as my sister's birthday preparations, I wasn't able to get it out of the box until yesterday to have a play.

My friend had asked me to make a 21st birthday card for her god daughter, so I thought i'd see what designs I could get from the Silhouette Design Store.
I found lots of pop up box card designs by designer Lori Whitlock on there and loved the design of them, so decided one of those would make a fun card.

Now, i'm presuming that the problems I had removing the design off my portrait's cutting mat is due to it being brand new, because it stuck there too good, and I couldn't get it off without destroying the design :(
If any cameo/portrait owners out there have any tips, i'd be sooooo grateful.

But, I still needed to make a card for today, so I decided to use my ruler and scissors to replicate the card base design, and then decorate it to make it pretty...

The pretty papers are all by Doodlebug (Hello Sunshine).
I managed to salvage a number 21 from one of my attempts on the silhouette, and coloured it pear-green (promarker) then gave it 2 coats with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush pen. I wish the photo had picked up the sparkle so you could see.
The pretty flowers were cut using the extra dies from Paper Smooches Lattice die set. I gave each a flat back pearl centre.
The leaves were cut using Poppystamps Lorelai Outline Leaf die, and an ash leaf punch by Woodware.
Happy Birthday are both word dies by Clearly Besotted Stamps, and the letters for God Daughter & the pretty scalloped trim are both by Tattered Lace.

It turned out quite pretty I think, and I can use Lori's design another time, once I get the hang of my new toy.

I'd like to enter this at:
Paper Smooches September challenge - Anything goes.
Ribbon Girls September card challenge - Anything goes.

Thanks for looking! xx

Mom's birthday.

Today is my Mom's birthday :)

This is the card I've made for her...

I die cut 'Dainty Flowers' by Paper Smooches, and coloured in the insert pieces with my promarkers, and gave them a bit of sparkle with a clear glitter brush pen, but left the outline white.
I glued the flowers onto their mats (Spellbinders 'Decagons'), then used a few hearts from 'Heart of Hearts' (Impression Obsession) to fill the space above the central flower.
The embossing folder is by Sizzix (Candy Hearts), and 'mother' is a Clearly Besotted Stamps word die.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Crafting When We Can - dies & punches
Allsorts - use at least 2 dies
Fab 'n' Funky - anything goes
Crafting From The Heart - anything goes

Here is the card that I made for my son to give his nan...

I have CASE'd this beautiful card by Diane Zechman, although I haven't used the bright colours she used.

I used Stampin Up's 'Vintage Vogue' stamp set, using some (very) old stampin spots in Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, & Old Olive. I grabbed some old stampin up cardstock to match too.
I added some flat-back pearls to the centre of each flower.
'NAN' was cut using free dies from a craft magazine.

Don't worry, bee happy!

Happy Monday! It's time for a new I {heart}sketches challenge for From The Heart Stamps :)

Here's sketch #152...

The twist, should you wish to use it, is "Enlarge and crop the digi".

Join in the challenge, and EVERYONE who plays will receive a $1 discount code for the store, and if you are the challenge winner, you will receive a $5 discount code to the store! :)

Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too. It's in the rules! ;)

Here is my card...

As you will have noticed, I decided to rotate the sketch 90 degrees anti-clockwise, and make it fit into a square card. I also printed the image quite large and cropped it to focus on the Birdbrain and the bee.

This image is a "FreeBee", and is called Bee Happy Birdbrain. So go grab yours now ;)
You get 3 fun sentiments to go with it, one of which i've used here.
I coloured the image with promarkers.
The checked paper is by We R Memory Keepers (Travel Light), and the spotty piece is by My Mind's Eye (Stella and Rose, Hattie).
I wanted to expand on the bee theme a little, so I used some gold shimmery card and a CBS hexagon die. Then finished the card with flowers, using a Woodware daisy punch, ash leaf punch, and yellow flat-back pearls.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp (Weds) - flowers

For my 2 lovely daughters

My eldest, Emma, celebrated her 26th birthday on St George's Day, and my middle child, Laura, will be 25 on May Day.
These are the cards that I made for them both.

Starting with Emma's...

Emma loves Disney's 'The Little Mermaid'.
I CASE'd this design. I recently found a photo of a party table decoration on pinterest, and thought how lovely the design would look on a card. The pinterest post links to a seller on Etsy, if you want to see the original work.
Back to my card, everything is paper pieced, then backed with foam before adhering to the front of the card base, which has a piece of glossy white cardstock, inked with 2 distress inks (mowed lawn & peacock feathers) finally, I added 'bubbles' by pressing the lid of a pen top into white ink.
Daughter was stamped using a set by Clearly Besotted Stamps.

I'd like to enter this card at Cute Card Thursday - no patterned papers

***

I embossed some lines and lightly inked them to resemble a stave. Then used Dienamics 'Musical Notes' dies for the 'music'. I added further die-cutting with the Sister word die by Clearly Besotted Stamps, and stamped using the 'Text Me' set, also by CBS.

I'd like to enter this card at Seize The Birthday - anything goes

***
And here are Laura's...

I started by paper piercing the backing paper around the edges, then dragged a white gel pen through those holes for some faux stitching. The paper is from a pad by StudioLight called Pretty in pink. I bought it from here.
The image is 'Cindy' by Wee Stamps (in rubber from Whimsy Stamps), coloured with promarkers.
Cindy is cut out using a Spellbinders 'Elegant Ovals' die, and then adorned with a daugther greeting (another CBS set), punched leaves (ash leaf, woodware), and flowers from the 'Lattice' die set by Paper Smooches. I finished the card by adding some tiny pearls.

I'd like to enter this card at Crafty Catz - fairies

***

The image is Baseball Boots by Just Inklined, and is coloured with promarkers.
I teamed this up with a different sheet of paper from that same pad.
Dies used are alphabet by Tattered Lace, and a cArt-Us border die (fountain). I finished the card with some flat-back pink crystals.

I'd like to enter this card at Simon Says Stamp (weds) - anything goes

Thanks for looking, have a fab weekend! xx

Baby cards

Heres a few cards made for new arrivals...

This first card was handcut using a dl card blank, to resemble a baby's bottle...

I covered the front with patterned paper (Nitwit, country meadow), then used a crimper to make the neck part of the bottle.
'baby' was cut using a Clearly Besotted Stamps word die, and 'GIRL' cut using Die-namics dies.
I finished the card with some organza ribbon.
I will add the baby's name as a little tag off the ribbon once she is born.
I'd like to enter this card Craft Your Passion's anything goes challenge.

This next card also uses that baby word die...

This time, I teamed the word die with the precious sentiment and image also from Clearly Besotted Stamps, Little Onesie. I stamped the onesie image twice, onto both plain and polka dot paper, so that I could paper piece it.
I'd like to enter this card at Less Is More (polka dots)

And following on from the Little Onesie set, I used the 'precious' sentiment on this card too...

I also stamped the word Granddaughter using a couple of stamps from the For Everyone stamp set, also by Clearly Besotted Stamps, but sadly not available anymore.
The image is from DigiStamp Boutique, called Baby Chicklet, and is coloured with promarkers. I added a couple of sequins and some pearls too. Then framed the image using a Nellie Snellen die.
The striped paper is really old, it's a dsp from a Stampin Up collection called Sweet Always.
I finished the card with a punched heart coated with glossy accents, punched & sponged flowers and punched gold shimmer-vellum leaves.
I'd like to enter this card in DigiStamp Boutique's monthly customer competion for March, also, The Ribbon Girl's any image challenge, and finally, the spring flowers challenge over at In The Pink.

Thanks for looking xx

Beautiful Vintage Roses

I LOVE Vintage Roses by Altenew.
It's such a lovely set to use, producing beautiful, realistic flowers.

I was asked to make a card for a 60th birthday...

This card took a while to do as I don't have the matching dies yet, so had to cut the flowers and leaves by hand, then I sponged the edges of each piece, before deciding on my placement.

Recipe:
I used Memento Dew Drop inks.
Flowers - dandelion, canteloupe, tangelo & potters clay. Leaves - new sprout, pistachio & bamboo leaves.
Papers - LOTV (Nitwit) 'Country Meadow'.
Diecut - trellis die by Clearly Besotted Stamps, & Die-namics 'By The Number' dies.
Punch - eyelet border by Stampin Up.
Sentiment - 'Bring on the cake' stamp set by Stampin Up (stamped onto vellum and heat embossed with gold EP).
Gold glitter washi tape, flat back pearls, and clear wink of stella on roses.

I'm entering this card at:

Stamping florals

Last week I treated myself to 2 new stamp sets, well actually one of the sets was an old set by Stampin Up that i've always wanted & I found it for sale on ebay and just had to buy it while I had the chance.
The other set is a new by Altenew, called Vintage Roses. I've been dying to get my inky mitts on this set, it sells out so quickly. Infact, it's out of stock now from where I bought mine.

First the Stampin Up card, the set is called Vintage Vogue...

I die cut the card base using the largest die from Spellbinders Timeless Rectangles set.
I stamped and cut out the flowers and leaves as I wanted the card to have a little dimension.
I used some old SU inks, lavender lace & mellow moss.
'friend' was cut using a word die by Clearly Besotted, and I finished the card with some sequins for a bit more texture and added sparkle.
This card is for a friend who will celebrate her birthday on Thursday.

I'm entering this card at:
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Less is more - add some texture
Sweet Stampin - glitter & sparkle

and here is the Altenew card...

I kept this one simple too, again, using old SU inks. This time I used pretty in pink, regal rose, bravo burgundy, mellow moss, & always artichoke. I used pastel beige & satin promarkers to colour around the stamped images.
The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted, and was from a free set in a craft mag.
I added a bit of wink of stella (clear) to the roses after they had dried, which I know is always hard to capture in a photo, but looks so lovely in real life.
I die cut the dotty border using a die from Paper Smooches Dots & Dashes die set.
Simply layered with pink card stock, another piece of card stock coloured with bravo burgundy ink, and then glued to a card front.
I'm giving this card to my friend's mother, who also celebrates her birthday on Thursday.

I'm entering this card at:
The Ribbon Girl - February card challenge
Brown Sugar Challenges - anything goes
Allsorts - birthday wishes

Thanks for looking, have a great weekend :) xx

Shake your tail feathers!

Good morning :)
I'd like to share a card i've made for my friend's daughter, who's celebrating her 24th birthday today...

I've used this fab stamp set by DigiStamp Boutique called 'Cluck cluck set'.
The sentiments shown are also with the set, and I've coloured the images using promarkers, ooooh I had so much fun colouring this up, I was singing whilst doing it, and I bet you can guess which song, lol ;)
The pink patterned paper is by Echo Park (Little Girl), and the purple spotty piece is by Dovecraft (Back to Basics).
I finished with flowers, cut using my Die-namics Flower & Leaf Trio die, leaves cut from green shimmer paper using 'In Stitches' dies by Clearly Besotted Stamps, and some card candi coloured with my pear green promarker.

Here's the inside of the card, this will raise a smile I think...

For baby Skye

Good morning,
Today i'd like to show you this card, made to welcome a friend's new baby granddaughter, named Skye...

I hand cut the shape from a top folding card base, then used the shape to cut another piece from pink card stock.
The pink piece was then embossed on the bottom portion, using a Sizzix 'Candy Hearts' Textured Impressions embossing folder.
I decorated the edges using an open scalloped border die from Tattered Lace, and a Xcut scalloped circle die. Using the same dies again to make the apron part. The patterned paper is from a pad called Mr & Mrs from Lili of the Valley.
'baby' was die cut using a word die by Clearly Besotted Stamps
'SKYE' was cut using Tattered Lace alphabet dies.
I finished by decorating the card with the 2 smallest dies from Die-namics Flower & Leaf Trio, and sequins.

Welcome to the world baby Skye, health and happiness always xx

Christmas Greetings Snowmen

Hello friends!...it's Wednesday, so it's that time of the week again, mid-week inspiration for From The Heart Stamps.

Today is my wedding anniversary, 15 years, and we met 20 years ago on this day.
But I haven't an anniversary card to share today, I have given Dave this card.
So instead, i've made a Christmas card, because I seriously need to make some so that I don't have a mad rush in December lol :)

The image i've used today is from Faith's new Project 100 Snowmen line, this one is #14 to 17, Christmas Greetings Snowmen.
As with all of Faith's Project 100 Snowmen images, you can grab this yourself right now for just $1.00, a bargain i'm sure you'll agree :)

I really wanted to do both this weeks sketch challenge and twist together, which is to make a mail friendly card (to keep it flat). So I haven't used any dimentional tape at all.
I have added interest using Clearly Besotted Stamps's snowflake die cuts around the edge, which isn't in the sketch design, but as it's white on white, it looks ok to me. I did change the shape of the patterned paper piece a little though, as I wanted more colour towards the top right.
The paper is by Dovecraft, (Merry Magic).

Here's the sketch for reference...

Join in the challenge, and everyone who plays will receive a $1 discount code for the store, and if you are the challenge winner, you will receive a $5 discount code to the store! :)

Birthday Cat Pout

Happy Monday! It's time for a new I {heart}sketches challenge for From The Heart Stamps :)
We're back to weekly challenges, here's sketch #118...

Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too. It's in the rules! ;)

Here is my card...

*Sorry for the poor quality photos that I've had lately, I just can't seem to get the lighting/camera settings right :(

This fantastic image is Birthday Cat Pout, I got this image through Mekaela's FUNdraiser, by supporting the Colorado Select Girls Hockey Association.
Here's a list of other products that I've used:
Colouring medium: Promarkers.
Chevron paper: Erin Bradley Designs (chevron doodles)
Gingham paper: Erin Bradley Designs (summertime fun)
Paw Print tissue paper from my stash.
Dies: Marianne Anja's Vintage Swirls, Marianne Stencil Leaves, Die-namics Flower & Leaf Trio, Clearly Besotted Stamps 'sister' word die.
Flat-back pearls.

The twist this time is to make an interactive card, so I made part of my design slide out to reveal the sentiment, which is one of FIVE that came with the image...
