More CASEing

I was asked to make a card for a doctor who is retiring.
I saw this card while browsing on Pinterest, and thought it ticked all the boxes, so I decided to CASE it...

The patterned paper is by Lawn Fawn (Perfectly Plaid).
The plasters/band aids are from Paper Smooches First Aid stamp set.
Thanks was die cut using Dienamics By the Letter dies, I cut each letter twice and coloured one set with different promarkers and kept the other set white for off-set layering.
There's actually a bit of sparkle added to the letters and plasters with a clear spectrum noir glitter brush pen, unfortunately you can't see this on the photo.

I'd like to enter this card at:

Thanks for looking, and thank you to Nichole Heady for the inspiration.

And now, 2 for Laura's birthday!

Our youngest daughter is celebrating her birthday today.
This first card is the one I made for Laura from her dad & me...

I used the same 'Donut Worry' stamp set (by Lawn Fawn) that I used for Emma's card from Jake.
I used the co-ordinating die too.
I coloured the donuts with promarkers, added glossy accents to the icing, and raised them on foam pads to add to the 'box', which has no sides, it's just a strip of patterned paper, scored and folded, with a window cut out using an oblong die. I added acetate behind the window, then re-inforced the paper with card so that the lid could be opened too.

Sentiment: computer generated.
Papers: Stampin Up 'sweet always' dsp (retired); Carta Bella 'its a girl'.
Dies: Lawn Fawn 'donut worry' Lawn Cuts; Spellbinders oblong; Spellbinders D-lites 'victoria corner'.
Other: Glossy Accents; acetate; funky foam (for dimension), small heart punch; clear Wink of Stella.

I'd like to enter this at:
In The Pink - birthday
Seize the Birthday - Anything goes

and here's her card that I made for Jake to give to her...

I used Mama Elephant's Little Cat Agenda stamp set for this one, again, colouring the images with promarkers.
I stamped Happy Birthday (Inkadinkado) above, and die cut 'Sister' for beneath the kitties, they looked to plain though so doodled on them with a white gel pen, and now I think they look too busy!

Paper: Doodlebug 'hello sunshine'.
Dies: Dienamics By the Letter; Paper Smooches 'dots and dashes'; party banner die.
Other: Funky foam (for dimension), Clear Wink of Stella; Uni-Ball Signo white gel pen.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Simon Says Stamp (Weds) - Anything goes
Cute Card Thursday - family

Thanks for stopping by today xx

More Peonies

I got out my Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp set again. This time to make a birthday card for a friend...

I used Memento dew drop inks in the colours Lulu Lavender, Sweet Plum, and Elderberry.
I didn't stamp the leaves from the same set on this occasion, opting instead to use an ash leaf punch by Woodware.
The paper is by Dovecraft, the white lattice die cut is from Paper Smooches, and the sentiment is by Stampin Up ('Bring on the cake' stamp set). I added a few drops of Star Dust stickles to finish the card.

I'm entering this card at:
Simon Says Stamp (Weds) - Fantastic Florals

Pop up box card.

Last week I bought one of these...

and because of work, as well as my sister's birthday preparations, I wasn't able to get it out of the box until yesterday to have a play.

My friend had asked me to make a 21st birthday card for her god daughter, so I thought i'd see what designs I could get from the Silhouette Design Store.
I found lots of pop up box card designs by designer Lori Whitlock on there and loved the design of them, so decided one of those would make a fun card.

Now, i'm presuming that the problems I had removing the design off my portrait's cutting mat is due to it being brand new, because it stuck there too good, and I couldn't get it off without destroying the design :(
If any cameo/portrait owners out there have any tips, i'd be sooooo grateful.

But, I still needed to make a card for today, so I decided to use my ruler and scissors to replicate the card base design, and then decorate it to make it pretty...

The pretty papers are all by Doodlebug (Hello Sunshine).
I managed to salvage a number 21 from one of my attempts on the silhouette, and coloured it pear-green (promarker) then gave it 2 coats with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush pen. I wish the photo had picked up the sparkle so you could see.
The pretty flowers were cut using the extra dies from Paper Smooches Lattice die set. I gave each a flat back pearl centre.
The leaves were cut using Poppystamps Lorelai Outline Leaf die, and an ash leaf punch by Woodware.
Happy Birthday are both word dies by Clearly Besotted Stamps, and the letters for God Daughter & the pretty scalloped trim are both by Tattered Lace.

It turned out quite pretty I think, and I can use Lori's design another time, once I get the hang of my new toy.

Mom's birthday.

Today is my Mom's birthday :)

This is the card I've made for her...

I die cut 'Dainty Flowers' by Paper Smooches, and coloured in the insert pieces with my promarkers, and gave them a bit of sparkle with a clear glitter brush pen, but left the outline white.
I glued the flowers onto their mats (Spellbinders 'Decagons'), then used a few hearts from 'Heart of Hearts' (Impression Obsession) to fill the space above the central flower.
The embossing folder is by Sizzix (Candy Hearts), and 'mother' is a Clearly Besotted Stamps word die.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Crafting When We Can - dies & punches
Allsorts - use at least 2 dies
Fab 'n' Funky - anything goes
Crafting From The Heart - anything goes

Here is the card that I made for my son to give his nan...

I have CASE'd this beautiful card by Diane Zechman, although I haven't used the bright colours she used.

I used Stampin Up's 'Vintage Vogue' stamp set, using some (very) old stampin spots in Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, & Old Olive. I grabbed some old stampin up cardstock to match too.
I added some flat-back pearls to the centre of each flower.
'NAN' was cut using free dies from a craft magazine.

Use Your Stash

Welcome to my stop on this month's From the Heart Stamps blog hop.

Our theme this time is "Use Your Stash"

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.
Additionally one lucky random winner from the comments on the FTHS blog will win a $15 voucher to the FTHS store!
If you have arrived here from Imke, you are in the right place. If you haven't, why don’t you start at the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything. The full hop list is there too.

My card for this hop also uses the sketch and twist, which goes live today (1st Aug).
Please click on the sketch below to go direct to the challenge.

http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/category/challenges/i-heart-sketches/

The twist this time is to use cool blues and/or water, so I thought i'd use an older image which also suited the twist theme, and team it up with some older papers from my stash...

I used the beach bucket image from the set Sea Turtle Beach. This set was the SOTM back in June 2013.
I coloured it using my promarkers.
Keeping with the 'Use your stash' hop theme, I grabbed an older paper pad, Doodlebug's Snips & Snails, which I bought 2 years ago to make a card for the arrival of my Grandson.
The sentiment is from Paper Smooches' First Aid Kit stamp set. This set is an older set too.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Creative Inspirations - seaside, sunshine, and summer holidays
Simon Says Stamp (Weds) - anything goes

Now, please head over to Kathy's blog to see which items of her stash she has used this time.

I hope that you enjoy hopping with us today.
The hop will end on Sunday, August 7th at 6am EST (11am UK time).
Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday, August 10th.

For my 2 lovely daughters

My eldest, Emma, celebrated her 26th birthday on St George's Day, and my middle child, Laura, will be 25 on May Day.
These are the cards that I made for them both.

Starting with Emma's...

Emma loves Disney's 'The Little Mermaid'.
I CASE'd this design. I recently found a photo of a party table decoration on pinterest, and thought how lovely the design would look on a card. The pinterest post links to a seller on Etsy, if you want to see the original work.
Back to my card, everything is paper pieced, then backed with foam before adhering to the front of the card base, which has a piece of glossy white cardstock, inked with 2 distress inks (mowed lawn & peacock feathers) finally, I added 'bubbles' by pressing the lid of a pen top into white ink.
Daughter was stamped using a set by Clearly Besotted Stamps.

I'd like to enter this card at Cute Card Thursday - no patterned papers

***

I embossed some lines and lightly inked them to resemble a stave. Then used Dienamics 'Musical Notes' dies for the 'music'. I added further die-cutting with the Sister word die by Clearly Besotted Stamps, and stamped using the 'Text Me' set, also by CBS.

I'd like to enter this card at Seize The Birthday - anything goes

***
And here are Laura's...

I started by paper piercing the backing paper around the edges, then dragged a white gel pen through those holes for some faux stitching. The paper is from a pad by StudioLight called Pretty in pink. I bought it from here.
The image is 'Cindy' by Wee Stamps (in rubber from Whimsy Stamps), coloured with promarkers.
Cindy is cut out using a Spellbinders 'Elegant Ovals' die, and then adorned with a daugther greeting (another CBS set), punched leaves (ash leaf, woodware), and flowers from the 'Lattice' die set by Paper Smooches. I finished the card by adding some tiny pearls.

I'd like to enter this card at Crafty Catz - fairies

***

The image is Baseball Boots by Just Inklined, and is coloured with promarkers.
I teamed this up with a different sheet of paper from that same pad.
Dies used are alphabet by Tattered Lace, and a cArt-Us border die (fountain). I finished the card with some flat-back pink crystals.

I'd like to enter this card at Simon Says Stamp (weds) - anything goes

Thanks for looking, have a fab weekend! xx

I've made a get well card using Feel Better Birdbrain...

I coloured the image with promarkers, and added some clear wink of stella to the medicine itself.
The patterned paper is by Echo Park (Little Girl). I found some pink glitter card in my scraps tub which fits in perfectly (together with the sequins) for the twist this time, which is to 'make it sparkle'.
The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed, and is from Paper Smooches (First Aid Kit).

Digging Dog

Here's a mid-week inspiration post for From The Heart Stamps.
This week, i'm using our current sketch (#143), and our current Stamp of the Month, Digging Dog...

I've coloured this cutie with Promarkers, cut the image to shape, then die-cut the edges with a die from Paper Smooches Dots & Dashes set. I backed this piece with a piece of kraft card.
The patterned paper used here is by Nitwit (Bonnets & Bowties), I hand-cut the blue piece in the shape of a bone.
I finished the card with a scalloped piece (SU border punch), and a paw print which was stamped using an 'inchie' stamp from a retired company, Tanda Stamps.

Stamping florals

Last week I treated myself to 2 new stamp sets, well actually one of the sets was an old set by Stampin Up that i've always wanted & I found it for sale on ebay and just had to buy it while I had the chance.
The other set is a new by Altenew, called Vintage Roses. I've been dying to get my inky mitts on this set, it sells out so quickly. Infact, it's out of stock now from where I bought mine.

First the Stampin Up card, the set is called Vintage Vogue...

I die cut the card base using the largest die from Spellbinders Timeless Rectangles set.
I stamped and cut out the flowers and leaves as I wanted the card to have a little dimension.
I used some old SU inks, lavender lace & mellow moss.
'friend' was cut using a word die by Clearly Besotted, and I finished the card with some sequins for a bit more texture and added sparkle.
This card is for a friend who will celebrate her birthday on Thursday.

I'm entering this card at:
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Less is more - add some texture
Sweet Stampin - glitter & sparkle

and here is the Altenew card...

I kept this one simple too, again, using old SU inks. This time I used pretty in pink, regal rose, bravo burgundy, mellow moss, & always artichoke. I used pastel beige & satin promarkers to colour around the stamped images.
The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted, and was from a free set in a craft mag.
I added a bit of wink of stella (clear) to the roses after they had dried, which I know is always hard to capture in a photo, but looks so lovely in real life.
I die cut the dotty border using a die from Paper Smooches Dots & Dashes die set.
Simply layered with pink card stock, another piece of card stock coloured with bravo burgundy ink, and then glued to a card front.
I'm giving this card to my friend's mother, who also celebrates her birthday on Thursday.

I'm entering this card at:
The Ribbon Girl - February card challenge
Brown Sugar Challenges - anything goes
Allsorts - birthday wishes

Thanks for looking, have a great weekend :) xx

Cheers!

Happy Saturday! I hope you have some fun plans for your weekend.
Today I have made a male birthday card, using an image from DigiStamp Boutique, this is 'Cheers!' and it's just 99p at the moment...

I kept the design simple, adding interest with the banners that are beneath the image.
The paper is by 'snips & snails' by Doodlebug.
'alan' was stamped by inking individual letters using a Paper Smooches stamp set, unfortunately I smudged it a little, but it doesn't look too bad.

I'd like to enter this card at :
DigiStamp Boutique - July customer competition
Papertake Weekly - build it up

Florence & Present

This card uses a pretty image from DigiStamp Boutique, it is Florence and present, isn't she a cutie?

Both patterned papers are from the collection 'Bonnets & Bowties' by Lili of the Valley & Nitwit.
The 'happy birthday' sentiment is by Paper Smooches (sentiment sampler set), and the name was cut using Die-namics 'by the letter' dies.
I've added a die-cut frame behind the floral piece using a cArt-Us border die (fountain), which I snipped in 2 pieces so that I could glue them around the corners.
The layers are given dimension with foam tape.

I'd like to enter this card at:

lots of die cuts

This card was given to my Mom, from my Son...

I have used a selection of die cuts:

Die-namics - Leaf Filled Flourish
Paper Smooches - Loopy Leaf
Memory Box - Chloe Stem
Die-namics - Flower & Leaf Trio
Die-namics - By The Letter (uppercase)
Clearly Besotted Stamps - 'love' word die
( 'you' was made by using letters from 'birthday' and 'congrats' and trimming down )

I've added a stamped butterfly from a freebie Clearly Besotted Stamps set, which I received in a craft mag.
The paper is 'At First Blush' from a collection by Melissa Frances called Classic Elegance.

16th Birthday - take 2

This is the 2nd card I made for my son to give to his friend. You can see the other one in my previous post if you're interested to see it.
He has 2 friends who have birthdays on consecutive days. They all became friends in Nursery, and are now doing their GCSE's!

The image is by Jelly Park, I fussy cut it out after colouring as I wanted to use just the main part of the image. I coloured it with promarkers.
Both patterned papers are by Papermania (capsule collection/spots & stripes/jewels)
The metallic navy & kraft papers are scraps that I found, which happened to go nicely with the Papermania papers.
I stamped the game controller from the 'Text Me' stamp set by Clearly Besotted Stamps, I didn't stamp it perfectly (my fault, not the stamp) but I liked how it looked anyways so fussy cut it out and popped it up on foam pads next to the sentiment (which is by Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler)
I added '16' using my Die-namics By The Numbers die set, and finished the card with a few punched stars to balance it out.

I'm entering this card at:

16th Birthday - take 1

My son, Jake, asked me to make 2 birthday cards for his friends who are each celebrating their 16th's this week (one is today, the other tomorrow). All 3 are mad about gaming.
Here's the first one I made, the other will be in my next post.

The image is 'Video Boy' by Mo Manning. And, as is usual for me, I have used my promarkers to colour him. I fussy cut around the image as Jake didn't want the snacks included.
I've teamed up the image with some old papers by My Mind's Eye (Stella & Rose, Hattie) which I duffed up a bit on the edges.
'happy birthday' is from Paper Smooches (Sentiment Sampler stamp set), and the game controller and 'game on' text is from the 'Text Me' stamp set by Clearly Besotted Stamps.
I added '16' using my Die-namics By The Numbers die set.

Flappy Birthday SOTM reminder

It's time for our mid-month reminder for the SOTM challenge at From The Heart Stamps.
Remember, EVERYONE who plays, WINS!

You have until Tuesday, September 30th, at 11:59pm CST to submit your entry, that's 5.59am Wednesday, 1st October in the UK.

Here's Flappy Birthday Birdbrain...

http://fromtheheartstamps.com/shop/birdbrain-chick/158-flappy-birthday-birdbrain.html

And here's my card...

I coloured the image with promarkers, and mounted it onto some kraft shimmer paper.
I added a faux cross-stitched detail to the top corners by paper piercing, then using a marker for the 'thread'.
I wanted to add extra balloons, and I suppose I could have printed 3 extra ones when I printed the image, but as I had printed the image last week and only decided to add extra balloons after i'd finished colouring the image, I decided to make them from scratch instead.
Plus i'm too lazy to go downstairs at 10pm to start the printer, when it's quicker to grab a couple of punches that are right by my desk and make some balloons, lol.
I grabbed some white card stock and punched out three 1" circles, and one of the smallest flower from the Boho Blossoms punch by Stampin Up. I cut up the punched flower into quarters so that I could use 3 of them for the 'knots' of the balloons. I used my promarkers to colour them, then glued the knots to the circles, et voila! balloons!
The paper is by Basic Grey (Life of the Party), and the sentiment is by Paper Smooches (Sentiment Sampler), which had another stampin up punch used on the bottom edge (scalloped border).

I'm entering this card at:
Papertake Weekly - punch it out
Crafting from the Heart - anything goes
Passion for Promarkers - make it digital
Tuesday Morning Sketches - sketch #267
ABC challenge - T is for Tic Tac Toe (faux stitching/sentiment/punches)

Little Miss Sketches

Little Miss Muffet Stamps are sponsoring the new challenge at Sketch Saturday, (please pop over to Sketch Saturday for all the details) and this week, it's a special week...

Today, Sketch Saturday is celebrating 6 years!
I posted the very first sketch on the blog on 31st May 2008.
To start with, My intention was to just share my layouts with anyone who would like to use them to make a card. Then, just a few months later, Sketch Saturday had a design team and sponsors! Then it became a popular challenge blog loved by so many :)
I had a fantastic time in my 4 years there, and though I was sad to go, it was the right time to do so, to give SS a new injection of craftiness with a fresh design team and fresh sketches.

To help celebrate 6 years of sketches, we are having a Blog Hop! There are prizes hidden along the Blog Hop, so leave a comment at each stop on the Hop to maximize your chances of winning!

Hopefully you came here after seeing Jen's fabulous creation.

For my card, I used SS sketch #299...

This image is one of my faves, Birthday Bunny by Little Miss Muffet Stamps.
The pretty paper was free in a craft mag, it's from a pad called Bonnets & Bowties and is by Lili of the Valley & Nitwit Collections.
The sentiment is from Paper Smooches 'Sentiment Sampler' set
I used the smallest flower from my Die-namics flower and leaf trio die and added a blue flatback crystal to finish.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Lexi's Creations - happy birthday
The Pink Elephant - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Crafty Catz - anything goes

Please hop along next to Julie's blog, oh and don't forget to comment ;)

All winners will be announced on the Sketch Saturday blog, on Saturday, 7th June.
Good luck everyone :) xx

Rain Boot Bugs

Good morning, it's time for an inspirational post for Little Miss Muffet Stamp.

If you'd like to join in with our current challenge (Anything Goes theme!) please CLICK HERE.

My card this week uses a recent new release... Rain Boot Bugs

I thought i'd make a stepper card this week as it's been a while since I last made one. After cutting and scoring, I decorated it with paper from Echo Park's 'Splash!' collection.
I coloured my image with promarkers.
I die-cut some swirly stems using the Marianne Die, Anja's Vintage Swirls. Then die-cut two flowers using the smallest flower from my Die-namics flower and leaf trio die, I added a bit of colour to get them to look similar to the yellow flower in the image.
The sentiment is by Paper Smooches, from the Sentiment Sampler set.

I'd like to enter this card at:
