Fab Flowers

I treated myself to this Fab Flowers stamp set by Lawn Fawn, and chose to make this card using some warm colours...

I used Memento Dew Drop inks, hand cut them out and layered them to make this bouquet.
The text paper is MME's Stella Rose 'Mabel' (an old, retired collection).
The sentiment is a Birthday Banners die by Tonic Studios.

Football Bears

I do love Lili of the Valley's cute images, and these Football Bears are no exception...

I don't think you can buy this stamp from the website anymore, I bought mine from their Ebay outlet shop.
I coloured the bears in West Bromwich Albion's colours for a friend who's a fan of the club (We won't mention the terrible season they're having eh?)
Paper is Stella Rose 'Hattie' by MME.
Die cut football is an old Quickutz one (Soccer Ball).

Hippie Birthday

I have a 'groovy' birthday card to show you today...

The image is from Hippie Chick Birdbrain. In this set you get the main Birdbrain image, two accessory images, and six bonus sentiments, one of which i've used here.
I coloured the image using promarkers, and then added a little clear wink of stella to the eyelids and pendant.
I teamed up 2 old papers by My Mind's Eye, both from their Stella & Rose collections, one from 'Mabel', the other from 'Hattie'. I'd forgotten how much I love the papers in those collections.

I'm entering this card at:
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything goes

Crafty Creations - Anything goes
Simon Says Stamp (Weds) - Anything goes

Cold Suds

Hello! Happy Monday to you.
The FTHS team are back after their little break, and we have a new I {heart}sketches challenge for you.

Here's the sketch:

Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too, it's in the rules!

The twist this time is to use a gate fold technique, so...

I've used Cold Suds for this card, which is for my daughter's partner, who's birthday is at the end of the month. I coloured Hamlet with masculine colours and chose papers by Bazzill, Nordic Pines (music notes), and My Minds Eye, Complete Boy.
You can't see it, but I added some shimmer to the top of Hamlet's hat and the ice cubes with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush pen.

Don't worry, bee happy!

Happy Monday! It's time for a new I {heart}sketches challenge for From The Heart Stamps :)

Here's sketch #152...

The twist, should you wish to use it, is "Enlarge and crop the digi".

Join in the challenge, and EVERYONE who plays will receive a $1 discount code for the store, and if you are the challenge winner, you will receive a $5 discount code to the store! :)

Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too. It's in the rules! ;)

Here is my card...

As you will have noticed, I decided to rotate the sketch 90 degrees anti-clockwise, and make it fit into a square card. I also printed the image quite large and cropped it to focus on the Birdbrain and the bee.

This image is a "FreeBee", and is called Bee Happy Birdbrain. So go grab yours now ;)
You get 3 fun sentiments to go with it, one of which i've used here.
I coloured the image with promarkers.
The checked paper is by We R Memory Keepers (Travel Light), and the spotty piece is by My Mind's Eye (Stella and Rose, Hattie).
I wanted to expand on the bee theme a little, so I used some gold shimmery card and a CBS hexagon die. Then finished the card with flowers, using a Woodware daisy punch, ash leaf punch, and yellow flat-back pearls.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp (Weds) - flowers
The Ribbon Girl - May 'any image' challenge

I've coloured Hamlet (without his beer bucket) with promarkers then cut him out.
I've used the beer bucket image on its own inside the card.
The papers used are both retired MME ones, Stella & Rose (Hattie).
I cut the stars using a Marianne Creatables star die, the yellow is glitter cardstock.
The sentiment is one of 7 you get as a bonus when you purchase this fun image.

Dad's birthday

Today is my Dad's birthday. I've made a couple of cards, one sent from me & hubby, the other from Jake.
I wanted to use the same paper pad for both cards. I used the now retired Stella & Rose 'Hattie' from My Mind's Eye.

This first one's image uses LOTV's Put Your Feet Up...

I coloured it with promarkers, layered it onto grey cardstock, then set an eyelet for the frayed ribbon trim.
My sentiment is by inkadinkado, and DAD was cut using die-namics dies.
The collection of stars are from a Marianne Creatables die (Punch Die - Stars).

I'm entering this card at:
Sketch Saturday - sketch #402
DigiDesign Challenge - 2 or more dies
Crafts Galore Encore - make a card in March

This next card uses Snoozing Ralph image and sentiment by DigiStamp Boutique..

Again, coloured with promarkers.
'Grandad' was cut with a die by Crafts Too. I don't have grandad, so I cut Grandson twice and pieced Grand from the first, and then the a & d from the other die-cut.

I'm entering this card at:
DigiStamp Boutique - March 2016 customer competition

It's my son in law's birthday tomorrow, so i'll be back then with a pic of his card.
Have a fab day, won'cha?  ;) xx

Mid-week inspiration

Hello! it's time for a little mid-week inspiration for From The Heart Stamps.
My card for today uses the sketch from this weeks I {heart} sketches challenge...

Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too, it's in the rules!

Here's my card...

I've used Kitten Surprise, coloured with promarkers, then fussy-cut out.
The main papers are both by My Mind's Eye, from their 'Life of the Party' pad.
The die-cut flowers (Die-namics) were also cut from a pad called Life of the Party, except it's from Basic Grey and not MME.
The sentiment is from Graceful Sentiments, a really beautiful sentiment set.
I finished the card with flat-back pearls and sequins.

I hope you'll join us this week, and remember there's a new blog hop this Friday, so be sure to join us then if you can. :)

Here's sketch #137...

Here's my card...

I've used Spectacular Birdbrain for this card, it was part of a fundraiser package you could get last year, so it isn't currently available to buy in the store, but it might be available one day.
The sentiment came with the image.
The green patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye (On the bright side), and the purple piece is from my scraps tub, it was from a stack of 12x12 individual sheets I bought years ago when I first started card making.
I finished the card with a punched heart.

Daffodils

Welcome to my stop on this month's From the Heart Stamps blog hop.

This time, we're having a 'Celebrate Birthdays' theme.
Each designer has made a card which represents their own birth month.
Can you guess mine?
*hint* the daffodil is the national flower of Wales, and is worn on a very special Welsh day.

This time we have a fun game for you all, with the chance of winning yourself a $15 voucher to spend in the FTHS store. All details of how you can take part can be found on the FTHS blog, and all you have to do is guess each designers birthday month ;)
We've also got an extra crafty challenge for you to take part in... We'd love for you to make a birthday card using an image from the FTHS store, and then add the link to your card over at the blog for a chance of winning a $10 voucher to spend in store. You have until 3rd January to link up your card.
Of course, as is usual for our blog hops, each DT member will randomly pick one commenter to win a FTHS image of their choice too.
Faith is so generous isn't she?

If you have arrived here from Imke, you are in the right place. If you haven't, why don’t you start at the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything. The full hop list is there too.

Here's my card...

I printed the flower heads twice more, so that I could layer them up slightly, though you can't see that in the photo.
I kept the design simple because I wanted these beautiful flowers to be the star of the show.

Supplies:
Image: Daffodils
Colouring medium: Promarkers
Sentiment: 'Bring on the cake' stamp set by Stampin Up
Die cut frame: Spellbinders 'Elegant Ovals'
Paper/Card: My Mind's Eye (Stella & Rose, Mabel), & kraft card stock.

Richard Jnr is ONE!

WOW! How fast has that year gone?!

My baby grandson is a big ONE today, he's started walking, so is now toddling about as he gets more confident and strengthens his chubby little legs. He's so cute to watch :)
And, though I do wish that I could share a photo of him to show you how adorable RJ is, and how beautiful his little smile is (showing off his six tussy-megs), my daughter and son-in-law don't want to put photos of their boys online, so I will respect their wishes.

I can, of course, show you RJ's birthday cards...

I used a Lili Of The Valley stamp for RJ's card when he was born, so I wanted to use this LOTV stamp for his first birthday card. The stamp used on this card today is called Baby Boy.
Stamped first with Memento ink, I then coloured the image with promarkers.
The denim and spotty papers are by My Mind's Eye (On the bright side), and the plainer blue paper is by NitWit, and was free with a craft mag some time ago.
I punched out some stars and used my Martha Stewart Circle Cutter to frame the image.
GRANDSON and the scalloped border were cut using Tattered Lace dies, and the number 1 was cut using a Die-namics By The Number die.

I'm entering this card at:
Papertake Weekly - anything goes
The Ribbon Girl - any image

And this is the card from Uncle Jake...

This card was quick and easy to do, I cut out the circles from black and red cardstock, I cut the red one in half and added 2 die cut buttons (Tattered Lace) and a Die-namics By The Number '1'.
I printed the text out, coloured in the letters, then added everything to the yellow background piece (Doodlebug, Snips & Snails). Card done, told you it was quick and easy :)

I'd like to enter this card at:
Cardz 4 Guyz - button it
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes

Thanks for looking, have a fab day and a great week ahead xx

Happy Purrr-day!

Today is my sister's birthday. She loves cats, in particular her own cat Woody, a tabby, so here is the card I have made for my son to give to her...

This fun kitty image, food bowl image, and sentiment are all from DigiStamp Boutique's Cute Kitty set.
I coloured the images with promarkers, then framed it using the papers, which are both from My Mind's Eye (On the bright side).
The 'Pretty Lace Border' die is a Marianne one. I used it to edge the centre denim paper piece, then added faux white stitches to finish.
The 'Aunty' sentiment is by Clearly Besotted Stamps (For Everyone).

I'm entering this card at:
DigiStamp Boutique - September's customer competition
Passion for Promarkers - use a sentiment
MAWTT - cute animal
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes

Thanks for looking :)
Have a great weekend xx

Only 4 months away!

Wednesday means it's mid-week inspiration day for From The Heart Stamps.

Now, you may think it's too early for Christmas cards, but if you're like me, then it can never be too early, because I always have a last minute dash to finish my crimble cards in time.
And it is only 4 months away, which is like, next month for a crafter, right? ;)

I've used Christmas Spirit Birdbrain, coloured with promarkers.
I framed this birdbrain with mirror card, gold, then green, then layered it onto more gold mirror card which was die cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Elements 'Elegant Ovals'.
'sister' was also cut from gold mirror card using a word die by Clearly Besotted Stamps.
The colourful paper is by My Mind's Eye (Life of the Party).

I'd like to enter this card at:
Christmas Card Challenges - anything goes
Stamp & Create - one for the girls
I Love Promarkers - anything goes

Thanks for looking.

It's the last few days for our DT call, so if you would like to join us, the details can be found in THIS POST.

Laughing Giraffe

Hello! I hope you had a fab weekend :)
Monday means it's time for a brand new I {heart}sketches challenge at From The Heart Stamps :)

Here's the sketch...

The twist this time is to use animals.
It's in the rules! ;)

Here's my card...

I chose to go with the twist this time, and I used one of the images from Laughing Giraffes, coloured with Promarkers.
The sentiment isn't with this image, but it IS one of the sentiments that you get with Party Hat Birdbrain.
Papers used here are from My Mind's Eye (Stella & Rose, Mabel), and I found a scrap piece of hard semi-transparent pale teal plastic in my scraps which worked perfectly behind the ornate frame (cArt-Us die), secured with white eyelets.
I punched leaves from the same papers to decorate, using an ash leaf punch by Woodware.

I shall be entering this card in to the following challenges:

Birthday Suit Birdbrain

Hiya! it's that time of the week again... mid-week inspiration for From The Heart Stamps.
This week i'm using Birthday Suit Birdbrain...

I really wanted to incorporate this weeks sketch challenge along with the twist too, which is to use scraps & washi tape. Here's the sketch for reference...
Now, I wanted to use my leopard print paper tape (by Forever In Time), so I chose this particular Birdbrain because the spots on its shell could be altered to a leopard print design using my promarkers.
I layered the image onto a piece of printed cardstock from a digital pack (BoBunny 'Roughin It') I'd used a part of the same design a month ago when I made a card using May's SOTM and I wanted to use up the other part which had been left after that make.
Then put this on top of the leopard print tape which had been stuck to the card base with a piece of dark woodgrain paper from MME's Stella & Rose 'Mabel' paper pad.
I've not added a sentiment to the outside of this card, choosing instead to leave room beneath the image to add the recipients name when the time comes to give the card. I have however, added a sentiment inside, one of SEVEN bonus sentiments you get for free when you buy this image.
I used 'Don't forget to wear your birthday suit (But remember to check it for cracks first)' lol

I'd like to enter this card at:
Papertake Weekly - anything goes
Crafty Creations - all creatures great and small
Simon Says Stamp (weds) - anything goes

Loving Thoughts Bouquet

It's Monday, so that means that it's time for a new I {heart}sketches challenge at From The Heart Stamps :)

Here's the sketch, and the twist this time, is to create a quick card...

I set myself a time limit of 30 minutes to make this card, and I completed it in 18...

This is Loving Thoughts Bouquet, coloured very quickly with promarkers.
I chose my colours to match the papers, which are both from My Mind's Eye, Stella & Rose, Mabel pad. This pad was still on my desk from a recent card make, so I thumbed through to choose 2 more of the designs.
I teamed these with kraft card stock for my card base and mat beneath the image and the sentiment, which was taken from the middle of a cake stamp by Stampin Up ('bring on the cake' stamp set).

You're how old?

It's time for a little mid-week inspiration by From The Heart Stamps.
and today, I'm sharing a card that i've made for a friend...

I've used one of the two images that you get when you buy Surprised Birdbrain, you also get nine bonus sentiments too, Yes! you heard right, NINE sentiments, amazing eh?.. I've used one of them here.
I've coloured this fun image with promarkers, before fussy cutting and adding to the card.
The papers are both from the same pad by My Mind's Eye, Stella & Rose, Mabel.
I've loosely used this weeks sketch & twist, which is to use bling.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Allsorts - Feature a creature

A Golden day...

Today is my parents' golden wedding anniversary :)
50 years married, and they haven't gotten fed up of each other yet! haha!!

I made a cake for them, Date & Walnut, their fave...

They aren't big fondant fans, so I only covered the top, choosing to wrap the sides with white card and gold organza to pretty it up a little.

And here's the card that I made...

I've used dies from Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Elements 'Elegant Ovals', '50'  and '&' were cut using dies from Die-namics By The Number & By The Letter sets, and 'mum' and 'dad' were both cut using word dies by Clearly Besotted Stamps.
The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye, Stella & Rose, Hattie pad, and the flowers are all from The Ribbon Girl.

Sister Act  - Anything goes
Crafts Galore - Anything goes

Inspiration Wednesday

It's inspiration day at From The Heart Stamps.
I was asked to make a funny card for a Batman fan, I think this will do eh?...

This great image is Super Birdbrain.
The sentiment i've used here is a freebie by The Alley Way Stamps.
I coloured the image with promarkers.
The papers come from 2 sources; Stella & Rose, Hattie by My Mind's Eye (grey), and The Last Key by Bella Gypsy (yellow star), matted on to grey cardstock.
I punched out some stars from yellow card, and then die cut the recipient's initial with a Die-namics By the Letter die.

Inspiration Wednesday

It's time for a little mid-week inspiration by From The Heart Stamps.

The image originally had a Birdbrain to the left of the bottle and is called Birdbrain Wine.
For this card I didn't need the Birdbrain, so I cut him away whilst fussy cutting the image.
The greeting is from Stampin Up ('bring on the cake' stamp set), then I added 'DAD' with die cut letters by Die-namics.
The papers used here are by My Mind's Eye's Stella & Rose collections, the grey and spotty pieces are from the 'Hattie' pad, and the text piece is from the 'Mabel' pad.
I matted my layers with silver mirror card. One piece having had Stampin Up's spiral punched to one edge.
I finished the card with some card candi that I coloured with a promarker to match the green shimmer paper used for 'DAD'.

I'm entering this card at:
