Tracey's first DT week

Good morning all :)
As the title says, this week is Tracey's first DT week over at Sketch Saturday. And boy has she provided us with a fantastic sketch!
This week we're sponsored by Saturated Canary, and you could be the lucky owner of 2 images from Krista's etsy shop if you're our challenge winner this week.
Krista very kindly let The Saturdays choose an image each to use on our cards this week.
Thank you so much Krista xx
I chose the lovely Carrington, as soon as I saw this image I thought of my daughter Emma, she is a proper bookworm and has beautiful big brown eyes.

I flipped the image before printing it out so that the books would be stacked above the sentiment, only I didn't realise until I started to colour that doing so would make it look as though some of the books have labels on the back instead of the front, so I just coloured them in the same colour as the book covers.
I should have flipped the whole sketch design instead eh? silly me.
I used a mixture of promarkers and pencils on this image.
I will probably cut out some scrap papers and give the books new snazzy covers before Emma receives it from Jake, but there's no rush, this card isn't needed until 23rd April.
Papers are all Stella Rose 'Hattie'. I paper pricked the edges of the base paper and used my white gel pen to create the faux stitching.

Sketch Saturday has a new guest designer joining us this week, Cor* will be showcasing a card with us each week throughout March :)
Please stop by the blogs of Cor* and The Saturdays, as always, there's loads more inspiration to be found!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp challenges - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes

Thanks for looking, hope you have a fab weekend xx

Our sponsor this week is Art Journey, who are offering our challenge winner TWO superb stamp plates, go see for yourself what you could win if you are our challenge winner :)

Here's my card...

The pretty floral spotty paper was a freebie in a mag (simply cards & papercraft #94) and is made by HOTP.
The flower stamp and sentiment were both on a freebie clear stamp set from another craft mag (cardmaking and papercraft #100)
I added a few crystals to give it a bit of bling.

As always, the Saturday Girls have made the most beautiful cards to show you, please stop by and take a look. We are joined this month by GD's Liesbeth and Roberta too!

Karita's DT week - SS184

Hello everyone, it's the first Saturday of December (where has the last year gone?) so it must be my week off at Sketch Saturday where I get to play with a sketch designed by one of the talented Saturday Girls.
This month, the lovely Karita will be our host.

Karita's sketch challenge is sponsored this week by Love to Stamp the home of the Little Darlings rubber stamp line. You can also find a large selection of paper, tools, sentiment stamps and embellishments.

Here is my card...

and a close up of the roses...

The Kanban roses stamp was stamped using Stazon and then coloured with SU inks. I stamped and coloured more of the same so that I could layer the design.
The pink and green patterned papers are called 'bird song' and are by First Edition. Some of the sheets in the pack are embossed as you can see with the spotty pink paper.
The white scalloped border was made using a Xcut border punch.

I'm really pleased with this card, I think it's really pretty and also think that the colours go beautifully with the kraft cardstock.

To see more beautiful cards made by the Saturdays, please go visit the challenge blog or their individual blogs, the links are in the sidebar >>>

We are joined this month by Hanne, who will be our guest designer throughout December. Her card is stunning and i'm looking forward to seeing more from her :)

Thank you for stopping by, hope you have a great weekend xx

I'd like to enter this card into the challenge at
Charisma Cardz - Spots

The House of Fluff presents...

...this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge!

This week is DT week, and it's Faye's turn to provide the fab sketch for us to play with. Her sketch was perfect for this 21st birthday card I was commisioned to make.
Here's the card...

The image is from Stitchy Bear, except I have added an extra shoe, then layered it up for added dimension, I also added some glitter to the pearls for some sparkle.
The 2 patterned papers are both from the same pad by My Mind's Eye (quite contrary) I decided to compliment them by using baby pink cardstock for the extra matting and card base. The plain piece behind the image is a piece of shimmered vellum that I found in my scraps drawer, it has a slight pink hue when caught in the light too.
The pretty scalloped borders were punched using my eyelet border punch from stampin up.
To finish, I added clear gems to spell the number 21.

This week sees the return of a former DT member, Emma!
Not only is  Emma our Guest Designer for November, but she is also the owner of Sew Sweet, our sponsor for this week, and you could win a £10 gift voucher kindly donated by Emma, if you are our challenge winner.

Please stop by the challenge blog to see the other cards made by Emma & The Saturdays, I hope you'll join in with us this week.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes (optional bling)

If you are going to any bonfires or firework displays this evening, enjoy yourselves, but please stay safe xx

Sketch Saturday - Lisa's DT week

Can you believe it's September already?!
where has this year gone? another school year starting already.

It's Saturday! and you know what that means, time for another Sketch Saturday challenge :)

being the first Saturday of the month, it means it is my week off and I get to play with a sketch provided by one of The Saturdays.
This weeks DT week is hosted and sponsored by Lisa, owner or The Craft's Meow, and you could win a TCM stamp set if you are this weeks challenge winner! :)

The Craft's Meow

Lisa kindly sent me a TCM stamp set too, here is my card for this week...

This stamp set is called 'My Girl' from the Little Frieda & Friends collection.
I used my promarkers again, but decided to paper piece her little dress with the same paper I wanted to use on the card base.
The paper is double sided and this card shows both sides of the same sheet.
It's by My Mind's Eye - Stella Rose, from the 'Hattie' paper pad.
I finished off the card with a few gems.

The Saturday's have made some absolutely stunning cards to show you this week, but then they always do, they are such a talented bunch :)

Hope you all have fun with Lisa's fab sketch.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Craft Us Crazy - Autumn Colours
Charisma Cardz - Anything Goes
The Pink Elephant - Paper Piecing

Thanks for looking,
Have a wonderful weekend xx

Bente's DT week

EDIT: guess who forgot to schedule her own DT post!

This week, over at Sketch Saturday, the lovely Bente is hosting her first DT week, and has provided us all with a lovely sketch, thanks Bente!
We are sponsored this week by Papilio Stamps

Here's my card, not the best photo, sorry.

This is my second card actually, the first one wasn't completed because the stars in the sketch design didn't suit it and flowers didn't look right either, so i'll keep the image and papers for another card sometime.
So I looked through my papers to see which would look good as stars, and this tiny yellow and blue star paper from my sizzix pad worked well :)
I like the yellow and blue combo of this card, it looks much better in real life than in this photo, will take another pic in daylight.

The plain blue and yellow paper is also from the same sizzix pad, I embossed the yellow with my swiss dots folder, and used my SU eyelet border punch on the blue piece.
The cupcakes were coloured with PMs, highlighted slightly with a white gel pen.
The greeting is from my SU 'crazy for cupcakes' stamp set.

You will be blown away by the awesome cards made by the DT and our fab GD for July, Janne. Please go take a look, I love them all, they are such talented and inspirational ladies.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope that you will join us this week for Bente's sketch challenge :)

have a great weekend everyone xx

using old stash

Good Morning!
well the weathermen here in the UK reckon that we are going to have some more summery weather throughout June, hope they are right, warm sunshine really lifts the mood of the day don't you think?

This week is DT week over at Sketch Saturday, and it's the turn of the lovely Jeanette to host this weeks sketch for us all.

and we have a new (for us) sponsor! :)

mftbuttongeneric
My Favorite Things, and this weeks lucky challenge winner will win a $25 gift voucher to spend in their FAB store!

We also have a new guest designer for the month of June too,
Welcome Louise, your stunning card for this week is so beautiful, looking forward to seeing more from you :)

Here's my card, using Jeanette's awesome sketch...

I've decided to try to use some of my older stash, so I got out an old magnolia stamp this week, if I remember rightly, she's called 'Tilda in Paris'
I forgot how pretty this stamp is.
I've coloured her with promarkers and then stamped her again so that I could paper piece her beret, top & socks with one of the papers used on the card, which are all by K&Co, from a 6x6 pad called 'Tulip' which I bought eons ago. Not sure if this pad is still available anymore though.
I attempted to make a tulip, but I don't think I have the right punches to get it to look right, so I threw away what I had made, scrapped that idea and got out my SU boho blossoms punch and punched out 2 of the largest flowers, added a stamen using a nellie snellen punch and a deep-red brad to secure, looking at it now it looks a little bit like a poppy, ah well, it looks ok I suppose.
The sentiment is from a See D's stamp set (celebration messages).

Whilst rifling through my old stash I found loads of christmas papers, might make a start on some crimbo cards soon.

Please stop by Sketch Saturday this week, you'll love the examples made by Louise & the Design Team, they are sure to inspire you to take part in Jeanette's sketch challenge, and who knows? it could be you who wins that amazing $25 prize! :)

Enjoy your weekend! xx

Maya's DT week.

Yep, as the title says, this week is Maya's DT week over at Sketch Saturday :)
So this week, I wanted to use one of my Hanglar & Stanglar stamps, which was given to me by Maya herself, isn't she just adorable? (the cutie on the stamp is too) Thanks again Maya! xx

I coloured her with my promarkers and paper pieced her dress - the Hanglar girlie - not Maya! lol
The papers are from a paper stack called 'Picnic in the Park' by Serif, I got the paper stack free with my copy of Simply Cards & Papercraft this month. They give some fabbylicious free gifts!
The creased paper behind the small gingham print is also from the same stack, but I scrunched it up into a ball, smoothed it back out again and sponged over the creases and the around the edge with SU mellow moss ink.
The diamond patterned stamp is from Catslife Press.

This week we are once again sponsored by Tickled Pink Stamps, and you could win yourself 2 fab digi stamp downloads of your own choice!
Thank you Kellie, it's wonderful to have you sponsoring us again :)

We have a new Guest Designer for May too... please say hello to the very talented Nina!

Awwwwwww!

Morning!
It's Saturday, so that means it's time for another sketch challenge over at Sketch Saturday. This week is Sem's DT week, and she has got a truly wonderful sponsor this week, Whimsy Stamps. Denise (Whimsy's owner) will be giving our challenge winner a stamp and die package worth $31 (amazing)!!!
Now I know you want to win that eh?!
so please join in with us this week using Sem's fantastic sketch.

Denise very kindly gave the design team a choice of an image to use (Thank you Denise! xx)
I chose this adorable kitty image... Love Me Anyway, one of Crissy's Digi's...

I love this image Soooooooooo much!
I want to scoop up little kitty in my arms for a cuddle.

Fiddly work cutting it out, but it was SO worth it!

I coloured Kitty with my promarkers. The patterned cardstock is called 'chateau upholstery' and is by Chatterbox, it's one of my favourites, it's double sided, both sides being shown on this card, i'm not sure if it's still available actually, as I first bought this cardstock years ago and quickly ordered me more soon after. I am down to my final 12x12 sheet now, so I hope it is still around when I need to buy more.

My SS teamies have made such wonderful cards as always this week, many using other whimsy images. Please stop by and see for yourself, links are in my sidebar >>>

Thank you for stopping by today, hope you have a great weekend and to all the Mommy's out in blogland (well the UK anyway!)... Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow xx

Cazza's DT week

It's the lovely Cazza's turn to host our challenge this week over at Sketch Saturday, and this week not only do we have a fabulous sketch designed by Cazza herself, but we have another new sponsor and Guest Designer for March...

And you could win 4 of Lisa's fabulous stamps as well as a wild rose studio paper pack if you are this weeks winner, great prize eh?!

Lisa very kindly gave the DT a stamp each to use this week, I chose Minx... What flowers?
Thank you Lisa, I hope you like my card...

I love this image! I coloured it with ProMarkers (had some new colours for my birthday! yay!) and teamed it with some free nitwit papers from a craft mag and punched flowers/gems.

To see more of Lisa's brilliant stamp designs, please take a look at what the rest of the DT have made this week, as well as Lisa herself, we're in for a treat this month :)

No sweet stampin card this week, it's Team Fluff in the spotlight this week :)

Have a great weekend xx

Maya's sketch

This week is DT week over at Sketch Saturday and it's the turn our very talented Maya to provide the fab sketch for us.

Our sponsor this week is Tickled Pink Stamps who are very generously offering this weeks winner 3 Tickled pink digi stamps of their own choosing :)

Here is my card...

I've used this adorable image available from Tickled Pink Stamps, she is called Birthday Cherrie, and is a dream to colour with my promarkers.
I printed the image 3 times to create the 3d effect.
The papers are by SU's Tea Party pack.
I added the hand drawn border to replicate the strings of the balloons and added gems for a bit of bling!
The sentiments are handwritten.

I'd love to enter this card into the following challenges:

Creative Card Crew - Pink and Purple
I love ProMarkers - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Use a Digi

Our SS guest designer for the month of February is Debbie, she is the sponsor co-ordinator for Tickled Pink Stamps, and we are looking forward to seeing what she makes throughout February with our sketches, welcome Debbie! :)

Happy New Year!

I hope 2011 brings you all everything you hope and wish for xx

I'm kicking off the new year with 2 DT cards, first...

Sketch Saturday, we have our first DT week of the year, and it's the turn of the lovely Jilli to provide this weeks fab sketch, here's my card...

I used some free nitwit papers that I received in a craft mag, Jill's sketch really lets us show off the papers we use this week don't you think? the image is by SU (fun and fast notes set)
This week we are sponsored by the fab Paulette from TLC creations, if you need to find a quote for a card or scrapbook page, then you're bound to find something suitable there.
Sketch Saturday have a new GD for the month of January too... we welcome the talented Barbara McGahey who will be wowing us with her cards this month, thank you Barbara! :)

Now we move onto Sweet Stampin, and this week we want to see 'Your Favourite Song'
well this one isn't my exact favourite but I do love it, and it's a great song for the new year... 'Get this party started' by Pink.
Here's my card...

The image was sent to me by my friend Terry (thanks hunni)  I just love this little guy waiting for the party to get going :)
The papers are by SU, the flowers are also SU, stamped & punched out using their products.
This week sweet stampin is sponsored by Tiffany Doodles, and our monthly sponsor is Whimsy Stamps, well worth taking part this week eh? ;)

Happy Crafting! xx

Saturday, 4 December 2010

HoHoHo!...

...it's Terry's DT week over at Sketch Saturday, and we are sponsored by Your Zoap! :)

Terry has given us a lovely sketch to work with this week

here's my take on it...

first of all I need to tell you that the stars and the scalloped oval around the sentiment are infact gold mirri card and not black cardstock, but it is difficult to get a photo showing the gold while using a flash.

I started this card by cutting strips out of the front of it so that I could add acetate instead.
The acetate was stamped with stazon using snowflake stamps taken from this set, bought from the The Craft Barn.
The red striped paper is by SU.
The image is by Dustin Pike and I coloured it with my promarkers, he's such a cute santa eh?

Please go visit the other SSDT blogs to see their fab cards this week, we also welcome the mega talented Bev this week too, Bev will be our guest designer throughout December! :)

No sweet stampin card from me this week, it's the turn of Team Fluff to delight and inspire you, to go to this weeks challenge please click here

Have a fab weekend, whether it be crimbo shopping, fun in the snow, or staying in the warm getting ink on your fingers ;)

Saturday, 6 November 2010

Leonie's DT week

It's my week off at Sketch Saturday this week, because it's the lovely Leonie's DT week :)
Leonie has a special treat this week too, not only because her equally talented sister Sandra has agreed to be our GD for the month of November, but also because her sponsor for this week is Art Journey and there are 3 prizes to win, so that's THREE winners this week! yay!

Here's my card using Leonie's lovely sketch...

I've used one of the new images from Pollycraft for my card. Isn't it a fab image? I love it, and will be using it lots.
It's called Tis The Season - Door if you want it for yourself :)
I coloured it in with my promarkers.
The red paper is from my SU ski slope collection. the white piece is obviously an embossed piece of white card. The 'bricks' were hand drawn and coloured.
Sentiment is hand written. Not sure if the photo picks it up well enough, but there is white flock beneath the door and 'bricks' to resemble soft snow.

I wanted to use this image mainly cos I loved it the moment I saw it, but also because it's one of a set of images that you could win if you take part in Team Fluff's 'inspiration photo' challenge over at Sweet Stampin this week.

To see more stunning examples, please go visit my friends and fellow DT members to see what they have made this week :)

Have a fab weekend xx

Paula's DT week!

The lovely Paula has designed this weeks sketch for us over at Sketch Saturday, and this week you could win a whopping 10 images of your choice from Pollycraft and a pack of ProMarkers to colour them in with woohoooooo!!!

Paula very generously gave the DT some images to use on their cards,
Thank you Paula! xx

here is my card...

The image I chose is called Luna Bitterfrost - Frosty by Pollycraft, and I've coloured this image with my SU markers.
The sentiment is part of a SU stamp from the 'best yet' stamp set.
As you can see, I used my snowflake embossing folder on the purple piece of cardstock, and as the cardstock was bigger than the folder, I had to turn the card to emboss both sides & where the 2 sides join has been covered by the blue cardstock! ;)

I know you're itching to get started on this weeks challenge, but if you need any inspiration please go visit my fellow teamies, their links are over there >>>

Thank you, back in a minute with my sweet stampin card :)

SS- DT week!

It's the lovely Jeanette's turn for DT week over at Sketch Saturday this week, and she has provided us all with an awesome sketch! I really enjoyed using this one (thanks Jeanette!)

Here's my card, a birthday card for a friend at work...

I felt like a change from my usual square cards, and I think you'll agree that the sketch is ideal for standard A6 too.
The pretty backing paper is by SU ('sweet always' DSP), and the image is a gorgeous Hanglar, coloured with SU markers. I used SU punches for the pretty scalloped edges and the flowers.
The sentiment is handwritten.

Please stop by the blog to see more work by the fabulous Design Team, including the first DT work by Cazza & Leonie, welcome aboard ladies! xx

This week we are sponsored by Kraftin Kimmie Stamps, and you could win 3 Kraftin Kimmie Stamps if you are our challenge winner! :)
We have a new Guest Designer too, the extremely talented Inge, who will be with us throughout September, great to have you join us Inge! xx

Saturday, 3 July 2010

Sem's sketch!

Yep! the lovely Simonne has provided us with a sketch this week over at Sketch Saturday... cos it's DT week!
And this week our fabulous sponsor is...

This is a brand new rubber stamp company and our lucky challenge winner this week will win 2 brand new not yet released rubber stamps! how fab is that eh?! :)

I used one of my new stamps that I received as a RAK from Lisa & PaperWorks Co, this is Carlos the crab, isn't he lovely? It's hard to tell but I stamped and coloured him twice, the second image I cut out just his eyes, claws and body to add extra dimension onto the first image with foam pads.
The bubble background paper I made myself on PSP but you can't see the bubbles very well in the photo, sorry. The 'driftwood' paper was also made on PSP but once printed out I stamped over it with pumpkin pie and old olive ink using a stamp from a set called Pocket Silhouettes by Stampin Up.
The 'starfish' was made using my SU star punch, I trimmed the ends to round them off a little, then scored and sponged it to try to resemble a starfish.
The dewdrops in the bottom left corner are from my stash, and the sentiment is computer generated.

As always the SS DT have worked their socks off and provided you all with wonderful work to feast your eyes on,
links can be found over there >>>

No Sweet Stampin card from me this week, it's Team Faye's turn to delight you, the theme this week is "Pearls and Pins" and the girls have made some gorgeous examples to show you. CLICK HERE to see for yourself.

Ok, that's me for today, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a fab weekend :)

Saturday, 5 June 2010

It's Paula's DT week!

This week is DT week over at Sketch Saturday, which means it's my week off :)
My talented friend Paula has made this weeks sketch for us, and it's a beauty!

Our sponsor this week is The Secret Crafter.
and Wendy is offering this weeks winner £10.00 to spend in her store! :)

Here is my card this week...

The gorgeous stamped image is of course a Magnolia, isn't she adorable?
Thank you Terry for sending her to me :)

I used my trusty SU markers to colour her in and used SU papers too, the blue is from the Bashful Blue patterns pack, the yellow is from the Tea Party collection.
The flowers were punched using a small retro flower punch and I added a pink pearlised bead to the centre of each one.
The sentiment is hand written.

I shall be sending this to my friends little girl, whose birthday is on the 11th June.

Thanks for looking!
If you want to see some stunning examples of cardmaking loveliness, then please go visit my fellow DT members blogs, their work always inspires me :)

Maya's challenge...

It's the first saturday of the month so that means it's my week off! :)
well, sort of, I get a week off from designing a sketch for Sketch Saturday and leave it in the more than capable hands of my fellow design team members, this weeks sketch has been created by the lovely Maya.
I get to make a card using her fab sketch...

The papers used are from provocraft, when I had a cricut machine I bought their paper pack which is supposed to be used with the tags and bags cartridge, I didn't own the cartridge but loved the papers anyway.
The image is a stamp I bought off eBid ages ago, I bought 6 teddy themed stamps for only about £5 or £6... bargain!

This month we welcome a new guest designer to our team... Nina Kortkrok. Her work is so beautiful, you'll love what she makes and will surely inspire you.
And of course for more inspiration please go visit the rest of the talented Design Team >>>

Okidoki, thanks for looking, will be back in a hour with my sweet stampin card ;)

SS#97 - Terrys fab sketch :)

This week is DT week over at Sketch Saturday, and it's the turn of Terry to delight us with a sketch. I loved working with this one, thanks Terry hun xx

The DP is by Stampin Up and is from their patterns book, colour is Real Red.
The sentiment is also SU, from their 'oval all' stamp set, it's punched out using their scallop oval punch, the flowers are the large flower from a stamp in their 'one of a kind' stamp set then punched out with the boho blossoms punch.
The image is of course a Tilda, and i've coloured her with SU markers and a blender pen.
Now, she couldn't just sit in mid-air could she? so she is sitting on a footstool (poufee, or is it spelt pouffe?) I drew it myself then coloured it with a Bashful Blue marker. Tilda herself has foam pads behind her so that she is more 3D.

Please stop by the blog to have a go at this challenge yourself, you could win a plethora of crafting goodies thanks to our sponsor Desi's Creaties.
We also welcome Marcea to the team as our Guest Designer for the month of April, her work is fabulous so you're in for a treat ;)
And of course, not forgetting the stunning creations made by my friends and fellow DT members, you'll find links to their extremely talented blogs in the sidebar over there >>>

Thank you for dropping by, i'll be back in a hour with my Sweet Stampin DT card :)
