for Laura

It's the start of the Easter holidays here for Jake, 2 weeks off school. So I guess we'll be playing games and doing some baking in the next fortnight :)

Today's challenge at Sketch Saturday is sponsored by our friends at The Craft Barn who are providing another fabulous prize for our lucky challenge winner this week.

My daughter, Laura, will be 21 on the 1st of May. This is her birthday card from me and her Dad using this weeks sketch, I don't think she will see it on here because she's not a visitor to my blog.

The image is called 'Sweet Blossom' and you can buy her from Wee Stamps, isn't she beautiful? I coloured her with promarkers.
The pretty papers are by First Edition, from their Hideaway collection, although the plainish piece is by Nitwit Collections.
The sentiment has been hand-drawn/written after I scribbled the same promarker colours onto a scrap piece of cardstock. I had to very carefully cut it out with a craft knife and scissors.
Finished off with flowers and crystals, using the crystals to spell '21'
Hope Laura likes it, I didn't use her fave colour (pink) but I couldn't resist these colours for this sweet image, especially for Springtime.

The Saturdays have created some beautiful cards this week, please stop by and see for yourself, this week sees the final card made by Cor, who has been such a fabulous guest designer for us throughout March, we've been lucky to have her on board, Thank you Cor! xx

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
MAWTT - Cute and Cuddly
Prairie Fairy Fridays - Spring Fling
Crafty Catz - Use a digi image

Thanks for stopping by, have a fab weekend xx

Grumps

Sketch Saturday is having a special week this week, we've reached week 200, also, we are taking part in a mini DT swap with our sponsors of this weeks challenge, Bugaboo Stamps.
You could win 7 free digis if you're our challenge winner! :)

Here's my card for our week #200 sketch challenge...

I have used Gus Birthday - Recount for my card, this image was kindly given to me by Bugaboo (thank you!), I coloured Gus with promarkers.
The purple striped paper is by Echo Park ('little girl' collection), and the mosaic purple paper is by Provocraft (tags, bags & boxes paper pack for the cricut).
I drew the word 'GRUMPS' and also the liquorice allsorts and coloured them with pm's.
This card was made for my Dad. My daughter gave this to her Grandad for his birthday, my kids all call him Grumps. His fave sweets are allsorts, or Bonties as we call them, Jake couldn't say Bertie Bassett when he was little and used to say Bonty Bassetts and the name has stuck.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Cards for men - cheeky chappies
MMCS - digital images only
Creative Inspirations - anything goes
Cute Card Thursday - anything goes

Please go see the cards made by Bugaboo's Jackie and Yvonne, as well as our talented GD for March, Cor*, and the rest of The Saturdays, you won't be disappointed!

Thanks for stopping by today, oh and remember... the UK clocks will go forward by 1 hour in the early hours tonight/tomorrow.

Pencil icon missing?

You can't 'Quick Edit' anymore?
Has the little pencil icon gone from your blog?
Do you need to go to edit via your dashboard now?

It seems that Blogger has decided to change our blog addresses for us *roll eyes*

My blog WAS siggi-shop.blogspot.com but now it's siggi-shop.blogspot.co.uk

all my links seem to work and go back to my blog, BUT the url is redirected by blogger automatically so that the .co.uk address is in my address bar.
It has happened in other countries around the world too where there urls now end with their own country's redirect.

Dunno how long it will be before blogger bring all the icons back, but if you change the last bit of your new address url from .co.uk to .com/ncr  you will see the pencil return so you don't have to keep clicking to edit your post via the dashboard.

incidently ncr stands for no country redirect (i think)

Here's my card for this weeks challenge:

This card has been made for my friend's husband, the image is 'Beer Bear' from Di's Digi Downloads, and has been coloured with promarkers.
The Papers are by Nitwit, they were in my stash, and were free in a craft mag sometime last year I think, it has been quite a while ago.
I sponged all the edges and used my torn edge scissors to distress the piece under the image.
I stamped the letters to spell out his name, then coloured them with the same colours used on the image before carefully cutting them out and adding them to the card. The sentiment is handwritten.

Please drop by the blog to go see what our talented GD Cor* and The Saturdays have made this week! :)

Photo Frame

I was asked by my daughter to make an insert for a photo frame so that she could add a photo of her cute step-son, Mikey. Here's the result..

Papers are from my Kanban Male Backgrounds CD, the colour altered slightly in my paint program so that it would be a better match with the blue cardstock used.
I stamped the letters to spell his name, coloured them with promarkers and carefully cut them out.
Punches used: SU eyelet border, SU star, Clippunch small star, woodware 1" circle, and dovecraft small circle. The holes in the buttons were made using a cropadile.
All they need to do is cut the photo to size, and slide it in the holder from the top, then pop the whole thing into the frame.
I have also been given a photo frame and a photo of little Mikey, so i'll be making another insert to go inside that too :)

Thursday 15 March 2012

I can show it now.

This card was made for my very special and supportive friend, who has celebrated her birthday today :)

Yellow is her favourite colour, she also likes pink so this should make her smile.
I love this cute lil' ducky, it's called 'Lillie with Tulips' and is from Fairy Dust Crafts. I coloured Lillie with promarkers.
Papers are Dovecraft Back to Basics and HOTP Soft Nostalgia.

Hope she liked her card and had a fabulous birthday :)

Challenges entered:
Crafty Bloggers Network - Floral
Digital Tuesday Challenge - Think Spring
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Birthday (happy 4th bday CCT!)

Tulips for Mothers Day

This card is for my Mom this coming Sunday...

The image is from The Stamping Boutique and is called Tulips, coloured with promarkers as per usual. I actually printed out the image 3 times so that I could cut out parts of it to 3D the image.
The paper is by Echo Park and is from their collection called Little Girl. I've had this paper pack for a little under a year, and liked it so much that I recently bought the digi set so that when I run out from the paper pack, I can print out more.
The sentiment is computer generated.
All I need to do now is look for a 'read-it-and-weep' verse to add to the inside.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Crafty Catz - Mothers Day / Special Lady
Allsorts - Say it with flowers
Lexi's Creations - Mothers Day

Pink & Blue Hydrangeas

The following cards were made using my pink and blue hydrangea sheets, available from craftsUprint...

These sheets are suitable for lots of occasions, including; Birthdays, Mothers Day, Anniversary, Get Well Soon and Thinking of you, and have sentiments for Mother, Mother-in-Law, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, Sister-in-Law, and friend.
A good all rounder for that special lady. The topper fits on an A6 card blank (as shown above).
To buy via craftsUprint, you will need to purchase a minimum order value of £5.00.
Most sheets (including mine) cost just 80p, and there's so many to choose from that you can easily reach the £5 mark.
Alternatively, you can buy the sheets direct from me, there's no minimum order value if you do, all my sheets including these can be found on my other blog Jobo Designs.

Blue Hydrangea

Pink Hydrangea

There's also a matching gift tags sheet available too, which has 10 tags, 5 of each colour.

A couple of cards.

Here's a couple of cards that i've made...
Emergency Crafters challenge. I found out about this new challenge blog via facebook, this is their first challenge and the theme is to use Red or Blue (or both)
Today happens to be my friend's hubby's bithday and his card happens to be mainly blue so I thought i'd show my support to this new blog and enter this card...

The metallic and soundwave papers are from my Kanban Male Backgrounds CD, This fabby image is called mini love and is from Sketching Stamper, although I had to alter it a little in my graphics program so that it would look like his own car (I have also put his reg number on the licence plate, but have gone back into my editing program and distorted that bit for this photo)
The sentiment is by Inkadinkado.

I'd also like to enter this card in the challenge over at Polka Doodles, Let's hear it for the boys!

And here's my other card...

This was a quickie make, The hilarious image was a freebie from Dustin Pike (thank you Dustin) I coloured it with promarkers, then assembled the card using a powder blue cardstock base, scraps of navy blue, grey and black cardstock and acetate (the windscreen, hard to see in the photo, sorry)
The sentiment is a SeeD's one.

I'm hoping that this card is eligible for the challenge over at Cards For Men, which has the theme 'Cheeky Chappies' the DT examples show cards that cause a giggle for a man.
Also for the challenge over at Digi Doodle Shop challenges which has a theme of Animals.

Thanks for looking xx

Tracey's first DT week

Good morning all :)
As the title says, this week is Tracey's first DT week over at Sketch Saturday. And boy has she provided us with a fantastic sketch!
This week we're sponsored by Saturated Canary, and you could be the lucky owner of 2 images from Krista's etsy shop if you're our challenge winner this week.
Krista very kindly let The Saturdays choose an image each to use on our cards this week.
Thank you so much Krista xx
I chose the lovely Carrington, as soon as I saw this image I thought of my daughter Emma, she is a proper bookworm and has beautiful big brown eyes.

I flipped the image before printing it out so that the books would be stacked above the sentiment, only I didn't realise until I started to colour that doing so would make it look as though some of the books have labels on the back instead of the front, so I just coloured them in the same colour as the book covers.
I should have flipped the whole sketch design instead eh? silly me.
I used a mixture of promarkers and pencils on this image.
I will probably cut out some scrap papers and give the books new snazzy covers before Emma receives it from Jake, but there's no rush, this card isn't needed until 23rd April.
Papers are all Stella Rose 'Hattie'. I paper pricked the edges of the base paper and used my white gel pen to create the faux stitching.

Sketch Saturday has a new guest designer joining us this week, Cor* will be showcasing a card with us each week throughout March :)
Please stop by the blogs of Cor* and The Saturdays, as always, there's loads more inspiration to be found!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp challenges - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes

Thanks for looking, hope you have a fab weekend xx
