more challenge entries

I made this card last night, the lovely fairy image is by LOTV, and i've coloured her with ProMarkers, I'll need to get myself some more pm's soon as i'm limited with my colours at the mo.
Can I just say that if you decide to cut out around this image too, please note it is extremely fiddly! half way through I wished I hadn't started it lol

The swirly/floral design stamp was bought off ebay ages ago, I don't know the brand, or even if it actually has a brand.
I added some pearls to the flowers in complimenting colours.
The dotty paper is from Dovecrafts 'back to basics' range.

I'd like to enter this card into this weeks challenge at I {heart} ProMarkers, the theme being pearls & swirls.

Fast forward a few hours to this card that I made this morning, I've had this stack of gifts stamp for a few years now and have hardly used it, I found it last night while rummaging through my stamps to find the swirly/floral one for the previous card.
When I saw that this weeks challenge at Charisma Cards was christmas crafting, I decided to ink up this stamp :)

This is a really simple card to make, and I might sit and make a batch of them for some of my crimbo cards this year...time is marching on and it will be here in less than 3 months! :o
I stamped the image and coloured it with ProMarkers, then added SU dazzling diamonds to the blue and red/green boxes and used my glitter gel pen on the other 2 to add a bit of christmas bling :)
You can't tell, but the image is then stuck to the 4" square card blank using foam adhesive. The sentiment is from SU's 'best yet' stamp set.
The tiny poinsettia flower on the top box was made by using my tiny xcut retro flower punch, then trimming the petals to a point, the leaves are just trimmings off the end of a leaf punch. I added a pearl to the centre of the flower to finish.

I'd also like to enter this card into the challenge at The Creative Cottage this week, the theme being 'Bling it on!'
Hope my card is blingy enough, it's hard to capture bling in a photo.

Thanks for looking, have a fab day! xx

One of a kind...for you

The 3 different flowers and the sentiment on this card are stamped from SU's One of a kind set.

I stamped using rich cocoa memento ink, stamping the largest flower 6 times before cutting the centre out of three of them so that I could 3D them with foam adhesive.
The ProMarkers used to colour the flowers are Rose Pink, Dusky Pink, Buttercup & Cocoa (cross hatching in centre of flowers)
The leaves are punched from close to cocoa SU cardstock.
The DP is by Paper Cellar, from their wedding collection.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cupcake Crafts challenge - Pink & Brown

ABC challenge - E is for Easel cards

thanks for looking xx

Beer Monster!

What a great image this is! :)
It's from Pollycraft, I was looking through my digi images that I have already printed out ready to colour and saw beer monster and had to get out my Promarkers to colour him in.

The challenge this week for the Pollycraft challenge is 'No designer paper' so out came my plain cardstock in complimentary colours to the image, I sponged the edges with SU close to cocoa ink to distress them slightly.

A spoonfull of sugar have asked us to use 'spots & stripes' this week so the green piece (SU Old Olive) was stamped with SU chocolate chip ink using a polka dot stamp, and the stripes were hand drawn onto the 2 side tab pieces using a SU close to cocoa marker.

For the layout of this card I have used the brilliant sketch by Dawny P for this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge, which incidently happens to be celebrating their 3rd birthday next week! :)

Thanks for stopping by today, i'm off to see what other challenges I can make cards for :)

2 cards - 6 challenges

I'm feeling much better now, all thats left of my cold is a sore throat and a slight cough :)
I'm so happy to be able to have some free time at the moment to sit and make cards, and it's nice to have a go at some of the fab challenges that are around in blogland.

Here's my first card today...

I started with a cream card base and rounded the top corners.
Next I stamped the 3 trees (SUs 'Trendy Trees' stamp set) onto cream cardstock using Old Olive, Really Rust, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie and Close to Cocoa inks. I cut these out and used foam adhesive to stick them to a piece of my fave Chatterbox 'chateau' cardstock which I had punched the top corners to replicate the card base and also scallop edge punched the bottom of it, adding some yellow ribbon just above the scallops.
The sentiment is also from the same SU stamp set.

I'd like to enter this card into the following 4 challenges:

Allsorts - Plain and Simple

Sketchy Colors - Colour Challenge
(Yellow, Orange, Green and Brown)

Stamp Something  and  Stamptacular who are both asking for us to use fall (autumn) colours this week.

This is my second card...

I've used SU's 'Almost Amethyst' cardstock and 'Tea Party' papers for this card.
I paper pricked all around the card and one of the centre pieces then dragged a purple pen through the holes to make the 'stitching'
The pretty Magnolia image was coloured with ProMarkers.
I punched out the flowers from glittered cardstock and coloured the centres with a purple pen. The sentiment is from SU's Pocket Silhouettes stamp set.

I used the lovely sketch by Dawny over at Just Magnolia's and would like to enter this card to their challenge.
Also, the challenge over at Crafty Catz which has a theme of stitching.

Thanks for looking :) xx

Together Forever

Oooops! guess who forgot to schedule her post for yesterday!

This is my card for this weeks challenge over at Sketch Saturday.

I've used my all time favourite cardstock, Chatterbox's 'chateau' collection.
I bought a stash of it a few years ago, I love this cardstock SO much, it's double sided and the patterns shown on the card show both sides of the card. They also do a floral/criss-cross piece in the same collection. Actually, I'm not sure if it's available to buy anywhere now but google might have the answer eh?
The image was given to me by a friend and is a Pink Cat Studio image, i've used my SU markers to colour.
The sentiment is from SU's fun & fast notes stamp set.
and the little hearts are punch outs taken from a fiskars border punch.

To see the FABULOUS work by my fellow teamies, please go to their wonderful blogs,

Come here, there's more...

Do any of you remember Jimmy Cricket? lol
Jimmy is an Irish comedian & "Come here, there's more", was a catch phrase of his, and that is exactly what I want to say to you too.... because I have made 2 more cards this afternoon! (perhaps having a cold isn't such a bad thing after all eh?)
Ok perhaps reserve judgement until you see the cards! LOL!

Well actually I can only show you one today because the other is my DT card for Sketch Saturday this coming Saturday.
So here's the card that I can show you...

and the inside...

I've made this thank you card, to give to someone after they have given a gift.
The theme at Whiff of Joy Challenge this week is "Thank You"
WoJC are celebrating their 2 year anniversary too! congrats ladies! xx
I started by colouring the adorable Henry Mouse hugging heart from Whiff of Joy with ProMarkers, adding SU dazzling diamonds to the heart.
I used the beautiful sketch designed by my pal Lena from this weeks challenge at Sketchy Colors, hope it's ok to use artisitc licence and not put the image in a box in the centre circle.
The sketch suits a gatefold card perfectly and once the scalloped edges were punched (SU eyelet border punch) it left a strip of the inside of the card showing which I added a complimenting paper to the outside design so that it would show through, then I wrote the words "Thanks I Love it!" inside.
The paper on the outside of the card is from the same collection as the inside - Paper Cellar's Wedding paper stack, I love the grid-like harlequin pattern in these muted colours,
and GRID is the theme this week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, I just found this challenge blog & it's my first time entering, hope they like my card.

Well the heavens have opened here, and we have thunder/lightning too so I think i'll go back to my desk and see if I can find any more challenges to make cards for ;)
I've really enjoyed getting my fingers inky today :)

Crafting a cold away

I have a cold, one of those stuffy, pressure in your head type of colds :(
So I decided to try to make cards to help take my mind off it.
At first I had crafters block so I looked through the list of challenges in my sidebar and made a few notes, nearly 2 hours later I have made 3 cards! :)

The first is for the following challenges:
Passion for ProMarkers - make your own flowers
I {heart} ProMarkers - white on white (the only colour to be the image used)
Allsorts - use at least 3 punches
Wild Orchid Challenge - Ribbon & Bows
Papertake Weekly - Animal Magic
Colour Create Challenge - All white (with coloured image), with the optional extra of embossing
Charisma Cardz Challenge - Anything Goes

Here's my card:

The white base card was stamped with clear pigment ink and an Anita's snowflake stamp, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I wrapped white ribbon around and tied into a bow at the front.
The image is by Artful Stamper and is called 'Cat Nap', I coloured this adorable image with ProMarkers, the cat itself is a blend of caramel & buttercup colours. I added some white flock to the trim of the hat and a little glitter to the bell at the end.
Next I made my flowers, using 3 punches: SU 5 petal flower punch, All Night Media Snowflake punch, and the smaller flower with my SU boho blossoms punch. I added flat-back pearls to the centre of each flower to finish.

The next card is for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog, who have a fab sketch to follow made by their new GD Jay Jay:

The SSS DT have all used Sarah Kay images this week so I thought I would use this Sweet Ebony 'picking apples' image by Elizabeth Bell who designed this image with inspiration from Sarah Kay. I coloured this cute image with SU markers.
The card base is SU creamy caramel cardstock, the paper is by Dovecraft and is from their 'funky vintage' collection. The flowers were made using x-cut retro flower punches and a woodware leaf punch. Sentiment is by SU from their 'pocket silhouettes' stamp set.
I added more flat-back pearls to complete the card.

Now, this card is SO CUTE! which suits this weeks challenge over at Pollycraft perfectly which has the theme 'Cute and Cuddly'...

The image is also by Pollycraft and is called 'Marleys Bauble'. Isn't he just the cutest?! :)
I coloured Marley with ProMarkers, then added some more white flock to trim his hat, and a little glitter to his bauble although it's hard to see.
The green patterned paper is by MME 'quite contrary' paper pack, the blue spotty paper is from Dovecrafts 'back to basics' paper pack.
The sentiment is from a Dovecraft clear stamp set (studio g)
I used this weeks sketch from Truly Scrumptious, who also gave us the option of using the colours blue and green too, hence my colour combo for this card.
As lovely as it was, I felt it needed something adding and so got my boho blossoms punch out again to make some flowers, my woodware punch for the leaves and added flat-back crystals to the centre to finish.

Phew! quite a long post for me! thanks for staying the course if you are still here lol.

Combined Challenges

Morning! I've combined both of my DT challenges for today,
using this weeks sketch from Sketch Saturday, our sponsor this week is Anne from Ah! La Carte where you can win 2 adorable wild rose studio stamps, and everyone gets 10% off their next purchase using the code provided.
The other challenge is Sweet Stampin which has a theme of 'stitching' this week, our sponsor for the month of September is Wink Wink Ink, where the lucky winner will get to choose 3 fabulous images from their store.

Here's my card...

I love this Santa image! it's from Bugaboo Stamps, and is called 'Bobblehead Santa'
The papers are by SU, from their 'real red' colour collection.
Now, you might not want to look at my hand stitching around the oval piece of foam! stitching is NOT my strong point lol
unless it's faux stitching then i'm ok with that ;)
see how much neater the faux stitching on the striped paper is? Yes? ok look at that instead lol ;)
The bauble embellies were stamped from a Dovecraft clear stamps set, coloured then glittered, I added a small piece of very thin black cardstock at the back of each bauble to create the hanging loop.
Sentiment is hand written.

Thank you for stopping by today, please go take a look at the work by both design teams, you can find links to their fabulous blogs in my sidebar >>>

Enjoy your weekend! xx

...and here's the other card

made for my sons friend...

I used this months freebie from KennyK downloads and coloured him with my SU markers.
The papers are from Provocraft, it's called Tags, Bags & Boxes and is usually sold for use with a cricut machine (I sold my machine last year) I think the papers are fab and they are the same designs in different colourways.
I distressed the edges by scraping them with my scissors and then punched out and ink-distressed some stars to complete the card, I think adding a succession of musical note diecuts would be just as fab eh? unfortunately I don't have any lol, so I used stars ;)
The sentiment is computer generated.

I'd like to enter this card for the current ABC challenge - D is for distressing

Thanks for looking :)
xx

Perfect from Pollycraft

My son asked me to make cards for 2 friends birthdays...yikes!
My son and his friends have just gone up to secondary school so they are quite grown up now (although to us moms they are far too young for 'big' school)
I find that little boys cards are much easier to make/find images for than older boys cards, so I was in a dilemma, to find images that are not too childlike but not too grown up either.
So I asked the lovely Sketch Saturday DT girlies to help me find the perfect image.
His one friend is learning to play the guitar, and with lots of thanks to Paula from Pollycraft this Ethan Rockstar image is spot on! :)

I used my SU markers to colour Ethan, SU paper: star design is from 'ski slope' DSP, the striped is 'Old Olive' and the checked is 'Always Artichoke'
I embossed some blue cardstock with a cuttlebug folder and punched out 2 large stars, adding some dazzling diamonds glitter to the edges.
The sentiment is computer generated.

I'm entering this card into this weeks Fairy Fun Friday challenge, the theme is embossing (my stars)

So, now I need to make a card for his other friend, that's a job for today.

I've used my fave SU 'ski slope' papers again for this card, love them!
The image is by Whiff of Joy and is called 'Henry Mouse eating large cookie'
The sentiment is by SU from their 'Best Yet' stamp set.

So... that's another christmas card done for the pile :)

Walking in a winter wonderland...

This weeks Sweet Stampin challenge is titled 'Winter Wonderland'
we want you to make either a winter birthday card or a christmas card, as you can see I chose the latter...

I got out my acetate again and cut it 26cm x 13cm, then scored in half to make the card base.
Next I added a piece of SU 'bashful blue' spotty paper to the inside back, with a strip of white cardstock at the bottom.
Then I scalloped punched 2 more pieces of white cardstock and added those to either side of the front of the card, stamped my greeting (SU 'Best Yet' stamp set), then punched out 7 snowflakes, trimming 4 of them to make the smaller flakes, then gluing those to the front of the card too.
I originally stamped out the tree (SU 'fun & fast notes' stamp set) and coloured it in, but decided I liked the card better without it...
...THEN I realised that one of the rules of Sweet Stampin is to include a stamped image somewhere on your project, so I added the tree image to the inside back of the card to finish.

This month our sponsor is WinkWinkInk, and our winner will get to choose 3 images from WinkWinkInk.com shop :)

To see the cards by the rest of Team Emma, please pop over to the blog, thank you! xx

SS- DT week!

It's the lovely Jeanette's turn for DT week over at Sketch Saturday this week, and she has provided us all with an awesome sketch! I really enjoyed using this one (thanks Jeanette!)

Here's my card, a birthday card for a friend at work...

I felt like a change from my usual square cards, and I think you'll agree that the sketch is ideal for standard A6 too.
The pretty backing paper is by SU ('sweet always' DSP), and the image is a gorgeous Hanglar, coloured with SU markers. I used SU punches for the pretty scalloped edges and the flowers.
The sentiment is handwritten.

Please stop by the blog to see more work by the fabulous Design Team, including the first DT work by Cazza & Leonie, welcome aboard ladies! xx

This week we are sponsored by Kraftin Kimmie Stamps, and you could win 3 Kraftin Kimmie Stamps if you are our challenge winner! :)
We have a new Guest Designer too, the extremely talented Inge, who will be with us throughout September, great to have you join us Inge! xx
