Brown, Blue & Green...

We have a colour combo for you this week over at Sweet Stampin.
Brown, Blue and Green

I had the perfect paper in my stash for my DT card this week...

It's by EK Success, designed by Stacy Claire Boyd, this particular sheet is from her Mod Squad collection and is named 'Leaf it'
I have had this paper for at least 3 years though so if you would like it for yourself I couldn't tell you where to get it from nowadays (sorry), but at least you know the name of it if it will help in your search :)

I wanted this beautiful paper to remain eye catchingly gorgeous so decided not to embellish the card with 'extras', I think the cute birdie image by SU (fun & fast notes set) is just lovely and is just enough to finish the card. I really like this simple card.

My fellow sweet stampin teamies (Team Emma) have created more stunning DT work this week, please go take a look for yourself, and then, how about you show us your Brown, Blue & Green colour combo entries, we'd love to see how you interpret the challenge this week.

Have a lovely weekend! xx

A zingy colour combo!

We have another colour combo for you over at Sweet Stampin this week :)

lovely fresh citrusy colours don't you think? (is citrusy spelt that way or is it 2 S's?)
anyway, here's my card ...

I used my SU 'Tart n Tangy' stamp set for this one and my eyelet border punch to create the bottom edge.
The sentiment is hand written and thought it matched the segments well :)
My daughter says that whoever receives this card must have a bag of Haribo Tangfastic sour sweets with it too lol.
Zingy!!!

Please drop by my fellow DT members blogs to see their fabulous work this week.
Their links are in my sidebar >>>

Not forgetting Chelsea, our wonderful GD for May :)

Would you like to join our design team?
If you would like to apply to become a Sweet Stampin DT member for a 6 month period starting June, please email Emma with 3 of what you consider to be your best creations.
Please also include your NAME, BLOG ADDRESS and just a few words about yourself.

You have until 22nd May 2010 to apply.

Good luck! xx

sweet stampin #21 - colour combo

I'm loving the colour combo this week over at Sweet Stampin, Emma has chosen a beautiful palette of 4 colours, although it is fine to use 3 if you'd prefer to ...

and here's my card...

I started with a bashful blue cardstock base, I cut a square of bella bleu DSP and used a perforating cutter on the 4 sides so it looked (sort of) like stitching, then took away the corners, stuck the paper down and added a pearl to each corner.
The rest was simple to do, the flowers are made using the 5 petal flower punch and the boho blossoms punch, I inked the edges of the flowers and assembled them together.
The sentiment is from the oval all stamp set and is punched out with the scalloped oval punch.
The leaves were also from a piece of DSP in the same collection using a woodware punch.

I have sent this card to Mrs A, thanking her for the beautiful gift that she sent to me,
She has already received the card and i'm delighted to say that she loved it! :)

For more outstanding creations, please go visit my sweet stampin DT members, links to their blogs can also be found in my sidebar >>>

Have a wonderful weekend, and I hope that the sun is shining wherever you are in the world :)

Sweet Stampin #17 - colour combo

Time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin, and this week we have a colour combo chart for you...

You don't have to use all 4 colours if you don't want to, but we would definately like to see 3 of them in your challenge entry please.
I'm greedy though and like to use all 4 if I can lol
I've made this card for my Daughter (who doesn't like cardmaking herself but likes the finished products if they are made for her!) to give to my Mom tomorrow - it's ok, my Mom won't see this post before she receives the card...

I really do like this colour combo together :)

I started with a barely banana card base then matted onto this a piece of blush blossom cardstock after distressing the edges first with the blade of my scissors.
I made my own background by stamping with sage shadow, barely banana & certainly celery ink onto whisper white cardstock, the SU stamp set I used is 'One of a Kind'
The image was given to me by Margreet (thank you hunni) and was coloured with SU inks to match.
I wanted to put a solid background behind the cute hanglar girl so I punched some barely banana cardstock with my SU eyelet border punch, and then added torn strips of blush blossom beneath the word Nan to help make the letters pop out a little more.
Those 'Nan' letters were hand drawn & coloured with the same ink colours too.
The sentiment is from the 'Yummy' stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today, and to all the Moms who will be celebrating Mothers Day tomorrow I hope that you all have a wonderful day xx

sweet stampin colour challenge

I'm back with post #2 for the day.
Over at Sweet Stampin this week, we have a colour challenge for you...

We'd like you to make a card or any craft project using at least 3 of the colours above (or colours as close as possible to those above)

Here is my card...

I started with a Certainly Celery card base,
I added a piece of Stampin Up's 'Tea Party' designer series paper in the lovely colour of Almost Amethyst, which I also punched at the bottom with my SU eyelet border punch. I added a pale pink ribbon/bow to the front (ribbon not from SU)
The image & sentiment are from SU's 'Fun & Fast Notes' stamp set, I coloured the image with certainly celery, almost amethyst, pretty in pink & rose red SU inks with a blender pen.

This is a lovely colour combination, I hope that you are able to join us this week.
Please stop by my fellow DT members blogs to see their fabulous work using this combo, the links to their blogs are also in my sidebar, over there >>>>>
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend! xx

I need more crafting time!...

... don't we all eh? christmas is just such a busy time, I take my hat off to all of you who can still find time to craft and blog as well as being domestic goddesses *bows down with respect*

I'm embarrassed to say that this week I have had to combine both of my design team commitments due to lack of time (& energy) - something which I really didn't want to do if at all possible.

Sketch Saturday is on week #81 and is being sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp where you could win a $25 gift voucher to spend in their store!

Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog is on week #4, and has a, well, 'challenging' colour combo for you all this week, and remember, you get an extra chance to win the monthly prize draw if you use Stampin Up products in your creation ;) The colours are...

The monthly prize this month is a 'Punches Three' stamp set and a scallop square punch, awesome prize eh?!

Here is my card...

I've used SU brilliant blue cardstock for the base, the old olive DSP is from their 'Haiku' collection.
I have added more mustard cardstock 'straps' and added a silver/grey washer and 2 screws as extra elements to work alongside this adorable sugar nellie image, Hamish fixing tractor. Not sure if this stamp is still available anymore actually. I've coloured the image in with ProMarkers, choosing colours that were as close as possible to the SU ones.
I have left the sentiment blank because I will add a number to the box when I know what age to add to it! lol.

Sweet Stampin...#2...colour combo!

It's week 2 over at Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog, and this week we have a colour combo challenge for you :)

Please click on the colour chart if you need to see it bigger.
Beautiful Christmas colours, don't you think?

so I decided to make a Christmas gift tag...

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock which I punched and embossed each corner with my Fiskars corner punch.
All papers are from my favourite 'Ski Slope' DSP collection, the old olive piece being punched at one end with my eyelet border punch, the flowers were punched with my boho blossoms punch, adding martha stewart 'pine branch' punchouts for the leaves.
The sentiment is from SU's 'winter post' stamp set, which I coloured in a little with SU inks and a blender pen.
Finally I got out my crop-o-dile, added 2 eyelets and threaded through a piece of bright red ribbon, tied into a bow.
I really like how this gift tag turned out! :)

PLEASE spread the word about this new challenge blog, there's some great challenges in the pipeline, as well as a fabulous prize to be won each month!

NCBOTB!

LOL! no I haven't lost the plot! ;)
NCBOTB = New Challenge Blog On The Block! (or should that be "in blogland" instead)
and I am on the Design Team!! Woohooooooooo!

Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog is the brainchild of the lovely Emma Lockley, a UK Stampin Up demonstrator, based in the West Midlands.
Emma & I have become great blog buddies since the very first time she sponsored Sketch Saturday, so I was delighted when she gave me an outline of what she wanted & asked me to do the graphics for her new challenge blog for people who love Stampin Up products :)
and I was even more delighted (and a little bit shocked) when she asked me to be on her design team too!

The colour theme for Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog is based around 4 beautiful Stampin Up colours: Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive.

These are the colours that we want you to use if you wish to apply to join the design team alongside Emma & myself (more details below)
Ideally you will already have some Stampin Up products in your craft supplies, but if you don't have any yet, or need to buy more (and who doesn't!!) then Emma can supply whatever you need - if you live in the UK of course.
Emma can also supply you with a 2009-2010 SU catalogue to drool over for the incredibly low price of just £2.50 and this includes postage too!
Details found on her blog HERE
While you are there, take a look at Emma's card using the blogs colours... Fabulous!!

I made a card using the same 4 colours too...

SU products:
Cardstock - Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion, & Whisper White
Stamp set - Pocket Silhouettes
Inks (image) - Pink Passion, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive
Ink (sentiment) - Tempting Turquoise
Tools - Eyelet border punch & Spiral punch

Non-SU products:
white gel pen (faux stitching)
white satin ribbon
Cropodile (to punch the holes to thread the ribbon)
