Arty Girlz 'red' challenge

It's been aaaaaaaaaaaages since i've entered an Arty Girlz challenge, sorry Julie & Crissi, not intentional of course, just been so busy lately and haven't had much time to craft at all, however my daughter asked me to make her friend a birthday card for her, " She likes nightmare before christmas and the colours black, white and red" was what Laura told me so I made this card and matching notepad/keyring (which has a jack skellington charm attached too). Laura said she loved them! which always pleases me cos as some of you may know, it aint easy pleasing teenagers is it!! lol.

the red background paper used is from my Cricut tags and bags paper pad, the L and U were embossed with the argyle cuttlebug folder, Jack's head was hand drawn and used to replace the letter O in Lou
Hope you like it!

Blue Christmas

Arty Girlz have asked us to use the colour blue on our projects this week, and here is my card, admittedly more white than blue, but there is blue on there ;)
I have used stamps away snowflake montage stamps to build up the ring of snowflakes, the centre image is 'gift bunny' from bootiful stampz, perfect for crimbo!

Arty Girlz sketch challenge...

I didn't think I was going to be able to post this in time because of not being able to get online, especially as Arty Girlz will set a new challenge tomorrow. Last week the girls asked us to use a sketch, I loved this sketch, thank you Julie & Crissi!

Another gift bag...

I couldn't resist making another gift bag, and it fits in with 3 challenges too!

Arty Girlz have asked us to use pink on our projects,
Sassy Crafts have a magnolia challenge, where you can win a Magnolia stamp of your choice! CLICK HERE for more details and how to enter this challenge yourself,
and the 3rd challenge? well it's to do with the buttons and the bows... over at Auntys forum, we have crafting teams and each month one of these teams sets everyone a challenge, this month the challenge is set by 'Buttons & Bows' team and their challenge is, yep, you guessed it, to use buttons and bows!! (at least 2 of each per project)

so here is my Magnolia, Tilda, pink and lilac gift bag with added buttons and bows embellishments!

Recycling - a "Bootiful" pot

Arty Girlz asked us to recycle something, i'm just in time for this weeks challenge, although Julie and Crissi have asked us to continue to recycle and show is our work as and when we do, great idea girls!
I used an old gravy granules pot, I glued the lid to the bottom of the pot for extra strength, used Rusty Pickle paper and green raffia, then added 3 Bootiful Stampz maggie images and a large peeking bunny stamp to decorate. I now have a Bootiful pot to house my brush pens :)

A collection of challenges!

I didn't have any PSP work to do yesterday so I caught up with a few challenges.
Here are my entries...

Tilda & Co - Black and white
I like how this card has turned out, I drew the amp that Edwin is sitting on, the guitar is a die cut (Ellison thin cuts)

Inchy By Inch - Faces
Apart from the faces on my Maggie and Tilda stamps I don't really have anything that I could use for this challenge, so decided to draw on an inchie and colour it in.... picasso style LOL!

Papertake Weekly - Lime and lilac
A lovely colour combination imo, for this, I have used Bootiful Stampz Bunny Pocket stamp to make this ATC, I love this cute image! who can resist a bunny eh?

Arty Girlz - Travel/Places
I found this quite hard actually as I don't have a lot of stash on a travel theme, infact I would have preferred a cruise liner peel off or image instead of the yacht peel off. I got the definition from a book full of them that I received from my friend Kim, it's made by paper pizazz 'definitions & words ephemera'.

Tilda & Friends - Glorious green
Green is my favourite colour and frogs are my favourite animal so I've combined the 2 to make this ATC, Tilda normally has wings and a crown but I cut them off for a different look, altho I must admit it looks like Tilda has a flower crown now!

Cute Card Thursday - Vacation/Travel
Aaargh! another travel theme! .... LOL!
I couldn't submit the same one as my Arty Girlz entry, cos this is CUTE card thursday, so decided to use another cute Bootiful Stampz design, this time Cozzy Maggie on holiday, she is coloured in using brush markers. The bucket and spade are both Quickutz dies, the waves stamp used in the vertical stripe is by Tanda Stamps and is from their pirates set 2 sheet of unmounted rubber stamps. Flower from my stash.

Phew! thats it (for now)
I'm off to check my emails and then hopefully make a few more samples for Bootiful Stamps using the latest released images.

Handmade background challenge

This weeks challenge over at Arty Girlz is to make your own background paper.
I used watercolour pencils for mine, and also did the same underneath the fairy silhouette stamp. I like how these colours go well together.

Black and White Challenge...

This weeks Arty Girlz challenge theme is Black and White.
This is one of my favourite colour combos.
Here is my card, I have used that dahlia stamp again and doodled the swirly leaves adding punched out flowers too.
The bottom looked quite plain so I added the gingham ribbon stuck to some black card to finish.

Arty Girlz challenge - triangles

This week, the Arty Girlz have asked us to use triangles on our project.
I started by cutting a square of Creative Imaginations paper (Sonnets, Love)
I cut this diagonally to make 4 triangles, then folded back the corners to create further triangles, the paper has a graph paper like back to it so I covered this with a rose coloured crepe paper and then set eyelets in the ends to hold them down. I glued all this down onto a square, white card blank which had a square of dusky pink mulberry paper stuck in the middle of it first.
I added Tilda, then finished with paper flowers and the greeting.

Arty Girlz - Chocolate challenge!!

Sam Morris is the Guest Designer over at Arty Girlz this week and she has set this weeks challenge.

Make something that includes chocolate! Chocolate coloured paper, ribbons, flowers, chocolate smelling embossing powder. A chocolate cake perhaps! The only other condition is that it HAS to include only one other colour (oh ok I'll let you have white too then lol)

The challenge is sponsored by Ribbon Mad and there's a lovely prize up for grabs too!

I chose pink as my other colour, I started by making a topper for my chocolate brown card blank... I punched out 4 tiny flowers from a piece of brown cardstock and layered this onto pink cardstock, I used the same punch to punch out 4 pink glittered flowers and glued these into the holes that the brown flowers left behind so that the glitter flowers are flush with the brown card. I stamped my piggy trio and coloured them in with watercolours before cutting them out and gluing them to the centre of the topper, which I then stuck to the card blank. I cut out the 'friends forever' message and stuck this down, using the brown flowers that I originally punched out to finish.

Arty Girlz 'Stars' challenge

And here is my entry in this weeks challenge over at Arty Girlz. The theme is 'Stars'...

"This week's challenge is 'Stars' so you could literally use Star shapes or do a creation based on a film star etc....as always we love to see the different ways that you all interpret our themes."

Well, the words 'film star' struck a cord with me (or should that be an accord! lol)
so here he is ...... Cap'n Jack Sparrow aka Mr Depp, a true star! (hubba hubba! be still my beating heart)

Just to make sure, I also added a star charm too, it's hanging from the raffia with the beads.

Stamps are from Tanda Stamps ;)

Arty Girlz 'circles' challenge

This is the card I made last week for the Arty Girlz challenge.

This week's challenge is 'Circles' so anything goes as long as there is a circle somewhere on your creation..... could be buttons, brads, eyelets, circles in patterned paper etc....

I haven't been feeling too good the last few days and forgot to upload it.
The fairy was sent to me by a friend of mine from Auntys Forum as a RAK, it had been stamped in a pale green and then clear embossed when I received it, I coloured it in with my watercolour pencils then cut it out (very fiddly!)
Actually, if anybody knows the name and brand of this fairy stamp could you let me know please? I forgot to ask my friend and sadly isn't a regular poster on the forum anymore. TIA xx

I used a stripy paper that I got as a gift for a magazine subscription last year. Then cut 2 circles, one in cerise and a smaller one in pink glitter card, then put everything together on the card.
I added the cerise flowers which were infact pale green vellum to start with and were already embossed when I bought them from qvc. I coloured them with a cerise permanent pen then cut them out (very fiddly too!)
Finished with a small 'sister' greeting which was again coloured to match with permanent pen.
Hope you like my card :)

Challenge entries...

This weeks challenge over at Papertake Weekly is 'spring in your step' and this week there's also some fabulous bunny stamps up for grabs! sponsored by Bootiful Stampz.
Obviously, as I already have a set of these wonderful stamps I don't expect this card to be entered into the prize draw, I did however, want to make a card with a 'spring' theme... Bunnies and daisies!..
I have used lilac pearlescent card and Rusty Pickle 'weathered daisy' paper. I punched some white flower shapes and coloured in the centre of them yellow. I stamped 6
blanket bunny images, coloured them in then stamped the word SPRING onto the blankets, which could also be postage stamps or picture frames too eh? - see? these stamps are so versatile!
Good luck in the challenge!

The fresh, simple looking card below I have made for my friend's birthday. Over at Arty Girlz this week the challenge is 'Green', to have the colour green in your project. The flash on my camera has made the floral paper on this card look more yellow than the lime green that it actually is. I cut the word FRIEND and the flowers with my cricut, and again in a dark jade colour using the shadow option to create a border around the floral paper. I used pale jade card as a backing which I stuck to a white card blank. I finished the card with a stamped greeting.

Challenge cards...

Here are my cards for this weeks challenges. Firstly, this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge which this week is 'simply stripes', I used my cricut to cut the large flower and handcut the leaves, the 'happy birthday' greeting is a stamp that was a freebie from a mag.

And here is my card for this weeks Arty Girlz challenge, this week the theme is 'Stamping'. Crissi & Julie asked us to use any stamps that are in our collection. I used my inkadinkadoo 'a kid like me' stamps, I love the little jumping girl stamp and used it to create a cartwheel effect, the word 'friend' is also from this set. The leaves and flowers were stamped using the stamps that came with my fiskars stamp press.

ARTY GIRLZ challenge - frames

This week over at Arty Girlz the theme is 'frames', My Dad will be 65 in March, so I have made him this card from my kids. Just incase you are wondering, I haven't spelt Gramps wrong, lol, my kids call him Grumps, although I have no idea why because he isn't a grumpy person!
I used a couple of filmstrip diecuts that my good friend Rosie very kindly sent to me as a RAK.
I used them to frame the photos of my kids, I was going to use a photo of my Dad in the spare film cell but decided to draw a caricature of him instead to make the card more fun!

Pocket gift card

This weeks challenge over at the Arty Girlz blog is 'pockets'. This is my entry.
My friends daughter will be 16 next month, and she will be old enough to play the lottery, No, I'm not endorsing gambling for teenagers, but its summat both my girls wanted to have a go at when they were 16 just because they could. My friend and I never know what to get each others girls for their birthdays so we send money instead, a lot easier than traipsing around the shops buying a top or jeans that they will want to exchange a week later!

So I made this card which houses a lotto ticket and a small envelope for the money.
It is made from denim blue pearlescent card, a silver gel pen, scraps of lilac ribbon & pink and white card and a small envelope that I cut from 200gsm vellum, I added a tiny 'for you' sticker to the envelope so that she will know to take the envelope out from the pocket. Hope you like my card.

BTW, the lotto ticket in the photo is from last saturdays draw and when I looked at it to use it for the photos I realised that we have won £10, yay! (wish it was £10mil tho)
