It's Wednesday, so it's that time of the week again... mid-week inspiration for From The Heart Stamps.
This week i'm using the image Birdbrain Card Sharks...
This is the card that my Son gave to my Dad for Father's Day.
It's been a while since I made a stepper card, so I decided to give it a go. I'm thinking it would be a good idea to buy myself a stepper card die so that it's all ready to decorate and I don't have to think about measurements. But then I suppose if you do it yourself by hand then you can alter the size of the card itself as well as the 'step' sizes too.
I coloured my image using promarkers, colouring the card backs similar to the paper that I chose, which is from a very old paper pad (probably 6 years or more) by Sizzix, called Little Sizzles, Country.
The sentiment at the bottom is one of ELEVEN that you get with the image.
'Grandad' was stamped using a stamp from a Fizzy Moon set (All About Him).
I'm entering this card at:
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Shopping Our Stash - for the boys
I Love Promarkers - things with wings
Thank you for stopping by today.

For Father's Day
Happy Monday everyone.
Here is the card that I gave to my Dad yesterday...
I have had this image, The Big One by Stitchy Bear for quite a while, and have been meaning to use it for a card for my Dad since he loved to fish when he was younger.
I've teamed it up with papers from Kanban's Male Backgrounds CD, using the checked pattern to make a rosette for my embellishment.
The 'world's best dad' stamp is from Stamps Away, though I'm not sure if they are still in business.
The other sentiment at the bottom of the card is by Stampin Up, from the 'Bring on the Cake' stamp set, then I replaced the 'w' of wishing with the f.
The number 1 die is from Die-namics 'by the number' set.
I'm entering this card at:
Cardz 4 Guyz - father's day
Creative Inspirations - male creations
Sentimental Sundays - father's day / manly
Next up is the card I made for my Son to give my Hubby...
I've used this fab image from DigiStamp Boutique, it's from a set called New Baby Animals. After colouring with promarkers, I did a bit of fussy cutting.
The backing paper is by Prima, from their 'Forever Young' pad.
I've used some Hunkydory scrabble letter card tiles and the ampersand die from Die-namics 'by the letter' set.
I'm entering this card at:
DigiStamp Boutique - monthly competition for June
Top Tip Tuesday - cut it out
Crafting for all Seasons - it's a boy thing

The image is the current Stamp Of the Month, Prickles Says Hello. What a cutie eh?
I've coloured the image with promarkers, then added some glossy accents to Prickle's glasses.

The beautiful floral paper is from 'Country Meadow' by Lili of the Valley.
The sentiment 'friend' has been die cut using a word die by CBS from kraft card, with a piece of pink card behind, so actually this is the negative of the die cut.
I finished by adding a dragonfly charm hanging from a pink spotty brad.

Birthday Suit Birdbrain
Hiya! it's that time of the week again... mid-week inspiration for From The Heart Stamps.
This week i'm using Birthday Suit Birdbrain...
I really wanted to incorporate this weeks sketch challenge along with the twist too, which is to use scraps & washi tape. Here's the sketch for reference...
Now, I wanted to use my leopard print paper tape (by Forever In Time), so I chose this particular Birdbrain because the spots on its shell could be altered to a leopard print design using my promarkers.
I layered the image onto a piece of printed cardstock from a digital pack (BoBunny 'Roughin It') I'd used a part of the same design a month ago when I made a card using May's SOTM and I wanted to use up the other part which had been left after that make.
Then put this on top of the leopard print tape which had been stuck to the card base with a piece of dark woodgrain paper from MME's Stella & Rose 'Mabel' paper pad.
I've not added a sentiment to the outside of this card, choosing instead to leave room beneath the image to add the recipients name when the time comes to give the card. I have however, added a sentiment inside, one of SEVEN bonus sentiments you get for free when you buy this image.
I used 'Don't forget to wear your birthday suit (But remember to check it for cracks first)' lol
I'd like to enter this card at:
Papertake Weekly - anything goes
Crafty Creations - all creatures great and small
Simon Says Stamp (weds) - anything goes
