Mom's 70th

Today is my beautiful Mom's 70th birthday :)
This is the card I have made for her...

I've used Daisy, one of the Polka Dot Pals from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.
I've coloured the image with promarkers.
Daisy is framed using a Spellbinders 'Elegant Ovals' die, large die cut flowers also by Spellbinders (Pretty Petals B), and a Woodware ash leaf punch. I glued some flat back silver pearls to the centre of the flowers.
The papers are both from a pad called 'Sunny Side' by Pebbles Inc. I separated these usind a cArt-Us border die (Fountain), and stitched ribbon by SU.
Mom was die cut using Die-namics By The Letter dies.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Crafty Catz - old stamp (this is from 2013)

Simon Says Stamp (Weds) - anything goes

Thanks for looking :)

Only 4 months away!

Wednesday means it's mid-week inspiration day for From The Heart Stamps.

Now, you may think it's too early for Christmas cards, but if you're like me, then it can never be too early, because I always have a last minute dash to finish my crimble cards in time.
And it is only 4 months away, which is like, next month for a crafter, right? ;)

I've used Christmas Spirit Birdbrain, coloured with promarkers.
I framed this birdbrain with mirror card, gold, then green, then layered it onto more gold mirror card which was die cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Elements 'Elegant Ovals'.
'sister' was also cut from gold mirror card using a word die by Clearly Besotted Stamps.
The colourful paper is by My Mind's Eye (Life of the Party).

I'd like to enter this card at:
Christmas Card Challenges - anything goes
Stamp & Create - one for the girls
I Love Promarkers - anything goes

Thanks for looking.

It's the last few days for our DT call, so if you would like to join us, the details can be found in THIS POST.

Mekaela's FUNdraiser

Faith Skrdla is one of the most kind and generous people that I have gotten to know through this great hobby of ours.
Faith's daughter, Mekaela, recently earned herself a place in her local ice hockey team! WTG Mekaela!! :)

The team are in need of sponsorship, and Faith has thought of a great way to support her daughter and her team, by offering us exclusive digital stamps, not yet available in the FTHS store.

I know you are going to want to colour up these fab new stamps, so I ask you, please support The Colorado Select Girls Hockey Association by donating if you can. Every little helps them to get to their goal.
If you are unable to donate at this time, that's ok too, so maybe you could help by spreading the word? You could still choose one of Faith's new $1 Project 100 Snowman images for free.

All details can be found HERE.

Thank You xx

Two Anniversaries

I was asked to make 2 anniversary cards this week, one for a silver 25th, the other for a 48th.

This card uses the largest heart die from Marianne's scalloped heart set, one cut with silver mirror card, the other from paper (backed with card first, for strength) from a Melissa Frances collection called Classic Elegance.
The backing paper, and paper used for the flowers and strip across the card are both from a combo paper pack by Webster's Pages.

I used dies from Die-namics 'By The Number' and from Clearly Besotted Stamps, and my eyelet border punch by Stampin Up.

I'd like to enter this card at:
QKR Stampede - use a die cut
Use Your Stuff - anything goes
Papertake Weekly - to die for
That Craft Place - Blue

This next card used an oval frame by Spellbinders, Decorative Elements 'Elegant Ovals'.
I used papers 'Mr & Mrs' (Raspberry Road Designs) by Lili of the Valley.

Happy Anniversary is a stamp from All Night Media,
Mum & Dad is by Clearly Besotted Stamps (You & I).
Again, I added numbers by Die-namics, which still have wet wink of stella in the photo!, and punched flowers and pearls to decorate.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Crafty Catz - flowers

Baby Daisy

A lovely friend of mine went into labour with her first child 10 weeks earlier than expected.
Her little girl, Daisy Elizabeth, is, as you'd expect, staying in hospital for a few more weeks yet. Thankfully, little Daisy and her Mommy are both doing well.
I have made this card, and of course, there's daisies on it...

I used 'Little Onesie' by Clearly Besotted Stamps, stamped onto patterned paper and shaded with an almond coloured promarker, though that is hard to see that in the photo.
I also used their 'baby' word die too, which I cut 3 times and layered for a stronger result.
The pretty frame is a Lea'bilities die (Leane 005 Frame Curve).
The papers are all from 'Country Meadow' (Nitwit Collections) by Lili of the Valley.
The daisies were all punched, glued, the edges sponged, then finished with flat back pearls at the centre, which were each coloured with a yellow promarker. The leaves were punched from pale green vellum.

Cider anyone?

Hello! Hope you're well :)
I had a little play with my digis for today's inspiration card for From The Heart Stamps.
I asked Faith for permission to use images from 2 different digis so that I could make this card.
Thank you Faith, for allowing me to do this xx
IMPORTANT : ALWAYS ask for permission from the copyright holder, BEFORE altering any image(s).

I could have printed the images out as they are and cut out the apples and each bottle from their surrounding images, but, wanting to prevent as much waste as possible, I asked Faith if it would be ok to do it this way instead.
Faith allows anything that you are able to do with a physical stamp, so in this instance, if the digis had been in rubber I could have inked just the bucket, stamped it, masked it, then inked and stamped just the bottle from the other image.
Digi's however, give you the option to resize and flip (mirror) your images so that they work really well together ;)

So, I merged together the bottle (x3) from Birdbrain Brew, with the apple bucket from Apple Market to make a cider themed birthday card.
I coloured my merged image with promarkers, then fussy cut it out. Also, although you can't tell in the photo, I added Glossy Accents to the bottles, apples and to the metal trim and handles of the bucket. Looks really good IRL, pity my camera skills are a bit naff eh?
The sentiment is from another FTHS set, Birthday Brew.
The papers are called Apple Picking, and are from an Etsy seller, Bitsy Clips.

August's SOTM

It's time for our mid-month reminder for the SOTM challenge at From The Heart Stamps.
Remember, EVERYONE who plays, WINS!

As it is a progressive challenge, if you joined in with the Stamp Of The Month challenge in July, you should have received August's Candy Cane for Snowman via email.

If you make a card/project using this month's SOTM, you will receive next month's image emailed to you for free! :)

If you didn't play last month, you can still join in by buying the image from the FTH shop
If you spend over $10 on other images, you will get Candy Cane for Snowman for free when using the code LETITSNOW.
You have until Monday, August 31st, at 11:59pm CST to submit your entry.
Here's my card...

I chose to focus on the snowman himself, as he looks as though he could be catching a snowflake. So I coloured the image with promarkers, then fussy cut around it, before making a start on the background piece, which is just a sponged background using old 'Rich Regals' SU inks, starting at the bottom with Ballet Blue, then Night of Navy at the top, blending the 2 together using Brocade Blue. These inks are really old, I bought the stampin spots sets about 7 or 8 years ago, and to my surprise the lightest 2 of these 3 colours hadn't been opened!

No patterned papers here, choosing instead to use a Snowflakes embossing folder.
I added 3 diecut snowflakes to the top using the smallest die from the 'Snowflakes Trio' set by Clearly Besotted Stamps. The sheer ribbon was in my stash, then I added clear Wink of Stella to the snowflakes and snowman.

The sentiment is one of four that you get for free with this image...

Here's the sketch...

The twist this time is to use animals.
Join in the challenge, and EVERYONE who plays will receive a $1 discount code for the store, and if you are the challenge winner, you will receive a $5 discount code to the store! :)
Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too. It's in the rules! ;)

Here's my card...

I chose to go with the twist this time, and I used one of the images from Laughing Giraffes, coloured with Promarkers.
The sentiment isn't with this image, but it IS one of the sentiments that you get with Party Hat Birdbrain.
Papers used here are from My Mind's Eye (Stella & Rose, Mabel), and I found a scrap piece of hard semi-transparent pale teal plastic in my scraps which worked perfectly behind the ornate frame (cArt-Us die), secured with white eyelets.
I punched leaves from the same papers to decorate, using an ash leaf punch by Woodware.

I shall be entering this card in to the following challenges:
Crafting From The Heart - always anything goes
Papertake Weekly - anything goes
Shopping Our Stash - show us your snark

FTH August 2015 Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on this month's From the Heart Stamps blog hop.

Our theme this time is "Tag, you're it!"

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog.
One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.
Additionally, one commenter on the From the Heart Stamps blog will be selected to win a $15 gift voucher to the store!

If you have arrived here from Jessica, you are in the right place. If you haven't, why don’t you start at the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything. The full hop list is there too.

Here's my project, it is a tag, but opens at the bottom like a card so that a greeting can be added to the inside...

For my tag, i've used Party Hat Birdbrain, coloured with promarkers.
I hand cut the tag, and used 3 scraps of paper from Doodlebugs 'Hip, Hip, Hooray' pad to decorate it.
The greeting was found in my scraps tub, it stared up at me and said 'surprise!' (obviously lol) and as it fit the birthday/party theme I just had to use it.
I finished with punched orange stars and red ribbon and it's ready to add to a gift.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Cute Card Thursday - one word
Simon Says Stamp (weds) - tie it up

Now, please head over to Kathy's blog to see her fantastic card for this hop.

I hope that you enjoy hopping with us today.
The hop will end on Monday, August 10th at 6am EST (11am UK time).

Good luck, and happy hopping! xx
