RJ's 2nd birthday

Where have those last 2 years gone?!
Our darling little grandson, Richard, is 2 today :)
Here are his cards, the first one made for uncle Jake to give him...

This is Freddie, I absolutely LOVE this image, it reminded me of RJ the moment I saw it.
I coloured the image with promarkers, and teamed it up with Dino-mite papers by Bazzill Basics.
'nephew' was cut from this die...
Reindeer Names

I cut out the letters that I needed, and used the 'm' for the 'w'.
The number 2 was cut using a Die-namics die (By the numbers).

I'd like to enter 'Freddie' at:

UPDATE 20/10/16:
Thank you so much for choosing my card :)

https://seizethebirthday.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/winners_20.html

And here is his card from us...

Can you tell what his favourite film is? My daughter has lost count of the times that she's sat and watched it with him. To infinity..and beyond! ;)
I paper pieced the card, adding the shirt pattern and the cow print with markers.
'Grandson' is a Crafts Too die, I used the same number die as before, and 'RJ' was cut using a free alphabet die from a craft magazine. I used one of the flowers from SU's Boho Blossoms punch for the stirrups on the boots. The star punch is also by Stampin Up. I finished the shirt with Tattered Lace buttons.

Looking forward to seeing the birthday boy later today for his tea party :)
My daughter has made his cake, her first ever make, I think she has done a superb job!

Thanks for looking.

Pop up box card.

Last week I bought one of these...

and because of work, as well as my sister's birthday preparations, I wasn't able to get it out of the box until yesterday to have a play.

My friend had asked me to make a 21st birthday card for her god daughter, so I thought i'd see what designs I could get from the Silhouette Design Store.
I found lots of pop up box card designs by designer Lori Whitlock on there and loved the design of them, so decided one of those would make a fun card.

Now, i'm presuming that the problems I had removing the design off my portrait's cutting mat is due to it being brand new, because it stuck there too good, and I couldn't get it off without destroying the design :(
If any cameo/portrait owners out there have any tips, i'd be sooooo grateful.

But, I still needed to make a card for today, so I decided to use my ruler and scissors to replicate the card base design, and then decorate it to make it pretty...

The pretty papers are all by Doodlebug (Hello Sunshine).
I managed to salvage a number 21 from one of my attempts on the silhouette, and coloured it pear-green (promarker) then gave it 2 coats with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush pen. I wish the photo had picked up the sparkle so you could see.
The pretty flowers were cut using the extra dies from Paper Smooches Lattice die set. I gave each a flat back pearl centre.
The leaves were cut using Poppystamps Lorelai Outline Leaf die, and an ash leaf punch by Woodware.
Happy Birthday are both word dies by Clearly Besotted Stamps, and the letters for God Daughter & the pretty scalloped trim are both by Tattered Lace.

It turned out quite pretty I think, and I can use Lori's design another time, once I get the hang of my new toy.

I'd like to enter this at:

Thanks for looking! xx

Helen's 50th birthday cakes

These are the cakes that I made for my sister...

I was giggling while making this one...

and with the words added...

Hehehe!

Who's turning fifty?

My wonderful sister is. Though you would never believe it to look at her.
Here's the card I made for my son to give her, I CASE'd a fantastic card I saw whilst browsing on pinterest, but can't find the website linked to it as it was just a photo, if I do find it though, i'll update this post.

Complete with 50 'candles' which are paper straws, cut in half and run through the big shot to flatten down slightly, there is still some dimension there though...

FTHS - Random image blog hop

Welcome to my stop on this month's From the Heart Stamps blog hop.

We have an inspirational random image theme this month.
We are each showing a project created with an image that was randomly assigned from the store.

If you've arrived here from Imke, you are in the right place.
If you haven't, why don’t you start at the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything. The full hop list is there too.

I was given Happy Travels Birdbrain to use this time...

I printed out the birdbrain and suitcase stack images, coloured them with promarkers then cut out & placed the suitcase stack underneath the birdbrain, I decided to lose the top suitcase and just go with the bottom two.
The sentiment is also from the set, and the postcard patterned background paper is by Prima (Botanical collection).

I'm entering this card at:
Simon Says Stamp (Wednesday challenge) - Anything goes.
ABC challenge - O is for Open.
Crafts Galore Encore - Anything goes.

Now, please head over to Kathy's blog to see which image she was given for her stop on the hop.

Thank you for hopping with us today.
Please continue to keep Faith in your thoughts and prayers.
Updated information will be posted on the blog when we have it, but, for now, there won't be any new challenges while Faith recovers.

Sending a bouquet of get well wishes.

Straight back with another mid-week inspiration post for From The Heart Stamps.

Today, I'm sharing a get well card, using the fabulous image, Bouquet Chick...

Other supplies:
Colouring Medium: Promarkers.
Sentiment: Feel Better Birdbrain.
Paper: 'Sugar Shoppe' by Doodlebug.

Hope you all have a great day, and rest of the week too!

Mom's birthday.

Today is my Mom's birthday :)

This is the card I've made for her...

I die cut 'Dainty Flowers' by Paper Smooches, and coloured in the insert pieces with my promarkers, and gave them a bit of sparkle with a clear glitter brush pen, but left the outline white.
I glued the flowers onto their mats (Spellbinders 'Decagons'), then used a few hearts from 'Heart of Hearts' (Impression Obsession) to fill the space above the central flower.
The embossing folder is by Sizzix (Candy Hearts), and 'mother' is a Clearly Besotted Stamps word die.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Crafting When We Can - dies & punches
Allsorts - use at least 2 dies
Fab 'n' Funky - anything goes
Crafting From The Heart - anything goes

Here is the card that I made for my son to give his nan...

I have CASE'd this beautiful card by Diane Zechman, although I haven't used the bright colours she used.

I used Stampin Up's 'Vintage Vogue' stamp set, using some (very) old stampin spots in Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, & Old Olive. I grabbed some old stampin up cardstock to match too.
I added some flat-back pearls to the centre of each flower.
'NAN' was cut using free dies from a craft magazine.

Wedding shaker card.

A wedding shaker card

After making the top layer, I cut out a large heart and edged it with a scalloped heart frame.
I glued some clear acetate to the back of this, then glued foam up to & around the outside edges of this heart to create the shaker section in the middle. I die cut a couple of Heart of Hearts so that I could use the smaller pieces in the shaker along with some teeny stars too. I glued the patterned paper to this to enclose the shaker element, then glued the whole piece to a card blank. I finished by gluing 'Mr & Mrs' to the clear window.

Supplies:
'Decadent Damask' embossing folder and 'Mr & Mrs' die - Sara Davies' Signature Collection, Together Forever.
Patterned papers - Raspberry Road Designs (Mr & Mrs set).
Scalloped heart die - Marianne die CR1225
'shaker' hearts - Impression Obsession 'Heart of Hearts' die.
Teeny acetate sequin stars.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Simon Says Stamp (wednesday challenge)- it's hip to be square
Die Cuttin Divas - anything goes
As You Like It - favourite card base and why : 6" square card base, because it's a good size card and I can get 2 cards out of one sheet of 12x12 card stock.

Whisky chicks

Hello friends,
It's time for a little mid-week inspiration for From The Heart Stamps.
And this time i've merged 2 images from different sets, just the birdbrains from Martini Chicks, and the wine glass from Photo Ham PigWit...

Martini Chicks    Photo Ham PigWit

And here's my card...

I started by opening the wine glass png image (transparent image) into my paint program on the computer. I rotated the image to make it vertical, then copied it 2 more times so that I had 3 glasses clustered together. I erased the glass stems so that I just had the main glasses parts together.
I opened up the wf.png image (white-filled transparent image) from Martini Chicks and pasted the image on a new layer over top of the glasses. I erased the martini glasses from around the birds, leaving me to adjust the bird layer to get it to sit right with the glasses behind.
I added the sentiment above the images, typing my own version of the one in the set by changing the word 'Martini' to 'Grouse', as the recipient of this card drinks Famous Grouse whisky.
Finally, I merged the layers and printed it out to colour with my promarkers.
The patterned paper is by Doodlebug (Sugar Shoppe), and I framed it with SU's eyelet border punch with cerise card stock. I used the same card stock to die cut her name CAL (Carole) which I brushed afterwards with a clear glitter brush pen.
'happy birthday' was stamped using SU's Bring on the Cake stamp set.

Don't forget there's still time to join in our current sketch challenge. You can take your pick of 4 sketches provided.
At the moment, we are playing just for fun until Faith is fully recovered.
We would still love it if you'd continue to join in each week though, after all, crafting is indeed, fun!

Get Well Soon Faith.

Happy Monday to you all.

You may be aware that Faith, the owner/creator of From The Heart Stamps, has been admitted into hospital. I'm sure that you will join all of us in sending her healing thoughts & wishing her a speedy and complete recovery.
In the meantime, FTHS may go into calalog mode for a while.
Also, until Faith has recovered, all of our challenges will be FOR FUN ONLY, so that means that there will be no prizes awarded for a while. The design team will still be choosing a top 3, so we would love for you to continue to participate with us.
Thank you for understanding, and we appreciate your patience at this time.

Today I have a card to share using a sketch from a previous challenge.
The design team were given a choice of 4 sketches to use. You can see the sketches, and join in the fun with us HERE.

I chose sketch #90 from December 2014...

There is a twist too, which is to use scraps from your stash.
I decided to rotate the sketch for my card...

This fun image is Five Party Birds, coloured with promarkers.
All of the papers used here are from a Doodlebug paper pad called 'Hip Hip Hooray'. The strips are all off-cuts from other past makes, and have been raised on foam pads for added dimension.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Passion for Promarkers - hip to be square
I love Promarkers - birthday
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes
Seize The Birthday - anything goes

Thank you for stopping by today, have a great week :)

Wedding roses.

This wedding card was made for my friend who got married last Friday..

I stamped and fussy cut my flowers using Vintage Roses by Altenew.
I added extra foliage with a fern leaf punch.
The rose patterned paper is from a collection by Nitwit called 'Always & Forever'.
The embossed piece and 'Mr & Mrs' die are from the same Signature collection, Together Forever by Sara Davies.

Photo Bomb

Today, i'm sharing a card that I made for my Goddaughter...

I used Mama Elephant's Photo Bomb stamp set, colouring with promarkers.
I wanted the images to look like polaroids, so I used a Sizzix Sizzlit slide mount die, glued the 'photo' behind the aperture, and trimmed it to size.
I took a photo of a section of my corkboard and then printed it off to make the back drop for my polaroids.
The pretty butterfly paper is from a pad called 'Sunny Side' by Pebbles Inc.
The sentiments used are both from the Photo Bomb stamp set too.

I'd like to enter this card at:

Welcome to my stop on this month's From the Heart Stamps blog hop.

Our theme this time is "Use Your Stash"

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.
Additionally one lucky random winner from the comments on the FTHS blog will win a $15 voucher to the FTHS store!
If you have arrived here from Imke, you are in the right place. If you haven't, why don’t you start at the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything. The full hop list is there too.

My card for this hop also uses the sketch and twist, which goes live today (1st Aug).
Please click on the sketch below to go direct to the challenge.

http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/category/challenges/i-heart-sketches/

The twist this time is to use cool blues and/or water, so I thought i'd use an older image which also suited the twist theme, and team it up with some older papers from my stash...

I used the beach bucket image from the set Sea Turtle Beach. This set was the SOTM back in June 2013.
I coloured it using my promarkers.
Keeping with the 'Use your stash' hop theme, I grabbed an older paper pad, Doodlebug's Snips & Snails, which I bought 2 years ago to make a card for the arrival of my Grandson.
The sentiment is from Paper Smooches' First Aid Kit stamp set. This set is an older set too.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:
Creative Inspirations - seaside, sunshine, and summer holidays
Simon Says Stamp (Weds) - anything goes

Now, please head over to Kathy's blog to see which items of her stash she has used this time.

I hope that you enjoy hopping with us today.

All bases covered.

My lovely friend, Karen, is celebrating her birthday today. As soon as I saw Dog on Scooter - Vrooming by, by Gerda Steiner Designs, I instantly thought of her, and knew I wanted to use this image on her birthday card, so I bought it straight away.
Here's what I did, & why I chose it:
Karen is a dog groomer, and animal lover... check
Karen owns a scooter... check
Karen's favourite colour is blue... check
Karen is a massive Mod music genre fan... check
Karen supports Wolverhampton Wanderers football club... check (scarf colours)

I think this card will please her, don't you think?
I used promarkers to colour the image, but the Mod target background card was printed off the computer then glued to thick white card.
'Happy Birthday' is from the middle of a stitched circle frame die.
Die cut flowers and card candi complete the card.

I'm entering this card at:
Craft Your Passion - always anything goes
Cute Card Thursday - in the round
As You Like It - your trademark style (I like to colour the image especially for the recipient)
Sweet Stampin - outdoors
The Ribbon Girls - July, any image

Have a lovely day!

Cold Suds

Hello! Happy Monday to you.
The FTHS team are back after their little break, and we have a new I {heart}sketches challenge for you.

Here's the sketch:

Join in the challenge, and everyone who plays will receive a $1 discount code for the store, and if you are the challenge winner, you will receive a $5 discount code to the store! :)
Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too, it's in the rules!

The twist this time is to use a gate fold technique, so...

I've used Cold Suds for this card, which is for my daughter's partner, who's birthday is at the end of the month. I coloured Hamlet with masculine colours and chose papers by Bazzill, Nordic Pines (music notes), and My Minds Eye, Complete Boy.
You can't see it, but I added some shimmer to the top of Hamlet's hat and the ice cubes with a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush pen.

I'm entering this card at:
Fab 'n' Funky - add a sentiment
Allsorts - frame it
ABC challenge - L for lots of layers

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day :)

My first 'Planter Box' card

I've been wanting to make a card like this for a while, and so I decided to make one for my friend's birthday...

I don't have a wood effect stamp (yet) so drew onto kraft card stock with a sandstone Promarker instead so that it didn't look to plain.
The flowers are stamped with Memento inks using SU's 'Vintage Vogue' stamp set. I added punched stamens to the larger flowers then added a crystal gem to the centre of all the flowers.
The leaves were also punched out.
The main sentiment is from an old sheet by Kanban (I think).
Anita's name was added using a Tattered Lace alphabet die.

The card collapses flat so that it fits inside an envelope and can be posted easily.

Sick Chick

It's time for more mid-week inspiration for From The Heart Stamps.
My card for today uses the current sketch and the twist for our I {heart} sketches challenge, which will run until July 17th, because of our DT summer break. So you have plenty time to take part and earn yourself $1 credit (or $5 credit if you're the winner!) towards your next FTHS purchase.

This is the sketch..

The twist this time, is Paper Piecing. I chose to flip the sketch as I preferred the look of my pill embellies to be to the right of the image.

I chose to use Sick Chick for my card this time. I printed the transparent PNG format of the image onto some digital papers that I resized. These papers are all from Lori Whitlock's Basics collection.
I cut out the pieces needed and glued them onto another printed image i'd done as a guide. I added some foam behind the pills, feet, eyes & beak, & thermometer. In hindsight, I should have gone around the edges with a black marker so that it looks more seamless, but it's too late after you've glued it all down lol.
I made some pill embellies with pink foam, topped with pink card which has been scored through the centre.

I'm entering this card at:
Craft Your Passion - always anything goes

QKR Stampede - paper piecing

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day :)

Father's Day & LOTV

Here are a couple of Father's Day cards that i've made for my Dad, both using stamps from Lili of the Valley, one retired stamp, and one still available in the store.

This first card uses the retired stamp, Dad's the Name...

I bought this stamp years ago, and think i've only used it two or three times in the past, so I thought i'd ink it up for my Dad's card from me & my hubby.
I stamped using Memento ink, then coloured the image with promarkers.
The patterned papers are both from the same pack, Dovecraft's Back to Basics / Blue Skies.
The sentiment is computer generated, and I finished the card with some tool charm die cuts by Die-namics.

I'm entering this card at:
QKR Stampede - one for the guys
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - use a die cut
ABC challenge - J for 'just as you like' (A/Goes)
Crafty Calendar - Father's Day / for a male

Here is my other card, using LOTV's James Laptop...

Now, my Dad does own a laptop, but he doesn't really know how to use it to it's full potential, as all he does is play puzzle games on it lol. So I thought this stamp would be perfect for him for his card from Jake.
Again, stamping with Memento, and then coloured with promarkers. I also added a little Wink of Stella to the laptop, then cut the image out.
The patterned papers for this card are by Lawn Fawn (Pint sized Patterns / Beachside)
The sentiment is computer generated, but I added 'GRANDAD' using Tattered Lace alphabet dies.
I finished the card with some stars cut using a Marianne die, with added Wink of Stella for a little sparkle.

I'm entering this card at:
Sweet Stampin - 3 or more layers
Die Cuttin Divas - Father's Day
The Male Room - Father's Day

Thanks for looking, hope you have a great day xx

Nerd Girl Potion

Happy Wednesday to you. It's time for another mid-week post for From The Heart Stamps, and today, i'm using one of the 2 new Smarty Pants images, Nerd Girl Potion...

This is a fab set, the little girl is a cutie, and you get the option to print her with or without the heart bubbles (which are also a seperate accent image too), as well as some clever (& nerdy) bonus sentiments for free, one of which I have also used here.
I coloured the image with promarkers, and added details with pencils, especially with her eyes. Then I fussy-cut around her with a craft knife.
I teamed her up with fun papers by Lawn Fawn (Let's Polka in the Meadow).
I used funky foam behind  my layers, and glued down some teeny iridescent stars around the hearts, instead of the bubbles.

I'm entering this card at:
Sketch Saturday - sketch #416
Sweet Stampin - 3 or more layers

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day :)

50th Birthday cards

I was asked to make 2 cards for 2 special friends, both ladies celebrating their 50th birthday.
This is the first card...

I made a card almost identical to this last year, you can see it here.
The image is from DigiStamp Boutique (Florence and present).
I used the same supplies as the previous card too, although one of the papers is a different design from the same pad, 'Bonnets & Bowties' by Nitwit (at LOTV).
The name and number were cut using Die-namics dies, and the pretty frame was cut using a cArt-Us 'fountain' border die.

I'm entering this card at
DigiStamp Boutique - June customer competition
Crafts galore encore - anything goes

and here is the 2nd card...

This image is by Stitchy Bear, well actually it's an image of one shoe, I added the other shoe (with permission first) by simply not printing the pearls on the other one, as you would do by not inking up that part on an actual stamp, then, after printing, drawing in the lines with a fineliner to fill in the space left behind. I fussy-cut them out after colouring, then layered one on top of the other. I added some stickles to the necklace for that added sparkle.
The patterned paper background is by Echo Park (Be Mine).
The number was cut using Die-namics dies, and the sentiment was printed off the computer.
I finished with lace and pearl trim from my stash.

I'm entering this card at:
The Ribbon Girl Blog - June card challenge
Sweet Stampin - 3 or more layers

FTHS June blog hop

Hello, and welcome to my stop on this month's From the Heart Stamps blog hop, and let me tell you, you are going to LOVE this one!

We have a fun and unique hop for you this month.
Every image is new and each designer got to choose what they would like for a special image and Faith designed them. How fun is that??!!! *Thank You, Faith*

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win the featured image on that blog.
In addition to the images offered on each blog, one very lucky hopper will be able to work with Faith to create an idea for a specially made image.
When you complete the hop and arrive back at the FTHS blog, please comment there, and say what kind of image you would like if you win the chance.

If you have arrived here from the lovely Imke, you are in the right place. If you haven't, why don’t you start at the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything. The full hop list is there too.

So, here he is, the image that Faith has so kindly designed for me...

Photo Ham PigWit

I squealed like an excited pigwit when I saw this image, isn't he fun?
I asked Faith to design this image for me because it's my sisters 50th birthday later in the year, and she LOVES piggies, so I thought having Hamlet posing through a photo frame (party booth style) would be perfect to celebrate her special day.

I printed Hamlet twice, and, after colouring with promarkers, I carefully fussy cut around Hamlet and the frame on one image, and just Hamlet on the second one so that I could layer the image with foam tape.
I added the glass of champagne, the party hat, and a gold number 50 (die-namics dies) to complete Hamlet and the frame.
I wanted balloons in the background, so coloured and cut them twice, then glued them behind the frame.
The sentiment is one of 3 you get as a bonus with this image.
The patterned papers used are from Lawn Fawn's 'pint sized patterns (beachside)' paper pad.

I'm entering this card at:
The Ribbon Girl Blog - June card challenge
Penny's paper crafty - anything goes
Crafts galore encore - anything goes
Seize the birthday - anything goes (no topping)
Moving along with the times - age related sentiment.

Now, please head over to Kathy's blog to see what she asked Faith to design for her :)

I hope that you enjoy hopping with us today.
The hop will end on Sunday, June 12th at 6am EST (11am UK time).

I love this fun image. It was a joy to colour up with my promarkers, and real easy to fussy cut around too.
This weeks sketch is perfectly CAS and well suited to focus on the colouring of the image, so I do hope that you'll join in with us this week too.

Aunty's birthday

This is the card that i've made for my Aunty...

I started with an embossed background. My Aunty likes to play bingo, so the Tim Holtz large bingo embossing folder is perfect.
I die cut the Large Iceland Poppy and added some shading with promarkers before adhereing the flower head together. I slipped the stem through the lettering on the 'for you' scripty die, then glued the whole lot onto the bingo card base. I brushed over the petals of the flower with a clear Wink of Stella pen.
The word 'Aunty' is from a retired stamp set by Clearly Besotted Stamps. I hand-cut the little tag to fit nicely around it.
The strip of paper at the bottom of the card is from Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaid paper pad.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Incy Wincy - touchy feely (add texture)
Seize the Birthday - A/Goes (dimension)
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - just us girls
Allsorts - Happy Birthday
Seven Hills May challenge - embossing

Thanks for looking, have a great day xx

Hamlet PigWit in the planter.

Wednesday means that it's time for a little mid-week inspiration for From The Heart Stamps.
I've used May's Stamp Of The Month today, Hamlet PigWit in the Planter.
You still have almost 2 weeks to join in our progressive challenge, and earn yourself a free image, which will be the SOTM for June, just for taking part :)

Here's my card..

I coloured Hamlet with promarkers, then got out my pencils to add some more detailling, especially to draw in the wood effect on the planter.
I fussy-cut the image, and the sentiment, which is one of SEVEN that you get as a bonus.

I wanted to keep the focus on Hamlet, so decided on a simple card design. I used a Marianne border die (wave), and patterned papers by Prima (Believe). I raised these corners with foam, and also added foam to the centre of the card to support the image.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Passion for Promarkers - special anniversary - spots and/or stripes (my backing paper)
Scrap N' Challenge - anything goes
Stamping Sensations - anything goes

Thanks for looking :)

Don't worry, bee happy!

Happy Monday! It's time for a new I {heart}sketches challenge for From The Heart Stamps :)

Here's sketch #152...

The twist, should you wish to use it, is "Enlarge and crop the digi".

Join in the challenge, and EVERYONE who plays will receive a $1 discount code for the store, and if you are the challenge winner, you will receive a $5 discount code to the store! :)

Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too. It's in the rules! ;)

Here is my card...

As you will have noticed, I decided to rotate the sketch 90 degrees anti-clockwise, and make it fit into a square card. I also printed the image quite large and cropped it to focus on the Birdbrain and the bee.

This image is a "FreeBee", and is called Bee Happy Birdbrain. So go grab yours now ;)
You get 3 fun sentiments to go with it, one of which i've used here.
I coloured the image with promarkers.
The checked paper is by We R Memory Keepers (Travel Light), and the spotty piece is by My Mind's Eye (Stella and Rose, Hattie).
I wanted to expand on the bee theme a little, so I used some gold shimmery card and a CBS hexagon die. Then finished the card with flowers, using a Woodware daisy punch, ash leaf punch, and yellow flat-back pearls.

Pigging Out!

Welcome to my stop on this month's From the Heart Stamps blog hop.

Our theme this time is "Pigging Out"

Faith has designed some awesome new PigWits especially for this hop too. You can check them all out HERE.
Not only that, Faith is generously offering a 30% discount off all PigWit images, and there's no code needed! Grab your favourites now ;)

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each blog. One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win an image of choice from the FTHS store.
We are having a little twist this month too! Some of our designers are adding ribbon to their projects. As you move through the hop, count up how many of the designers chose to use ribbon on their project. Email your answer to Faith: (faith@fromtheheartstamps.com) for a chance to win a $15 voucher to the FTHS store!

If you have arrived here from Imke, you are in the right place. If you haven't, why don’t you start at the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don’t miss anything. The full hop list is there too.

For my card, i've used Cold Suds...

I've coloured Hamlet (without his beer bucket) with promarkers then cut him out.
I've used the beer bucket image on its own inside the card.
The papers used are both retired MME ones, Stella & Rose (Hattie).
I cut the stars using a Marianne Creatables star die, the yellow is glitter cardstock.
The sentiment is one of 7 you get as a bonus when you purchase this fun image.

I'm entering this card at:

For my 2 lovely daughters

My eldest, Emma, celebrated her 26th birthday on St George's Day, and my middle child, Laura, will be 25 on May Day.
These are the cards that I made for them both.

Starting with Emma's...

Emma loves Disney's 'The Little Mermaid'.
I CASE'd this design. I recently found a photo of a party table decoration on pinterest, and thought how lovely the design would look on a card. The pinterest post links to a seller on Etsy, if you want to see the original work.
Back to my card, everything is paper pieced, then backed with foam before adhering to the front of the card base, which has a piece of glossy white cardstock, inked with 2 distress inks (mowed lawn & peacock feathers) finally, I added 'bubbles' by pressing the lid of a pen top into white ink.
Daughter was stamped using a set by Clearly Besotted Stamps.

I embossed some lines and lightly inked them to resemble a stave. Then used Dienamics 'Musical Notes' dies for the 'music'. I added further die-cutting with the Sister word die by Clearly Besotted Stamps, and stamped using the 'Text Me' set, also by CBS.

And here are Laura's...

I started by paper piercing the backing paper around the edges, then dragged a white gel pen through those holes for some faux stitching. The paper is from a pad by StudioLight called Pretty in pink. I bought it from here.
The image is 'Cindy' by Wee Stamps (in rubber from Whimsy Stamps), coloured with promarkers.
Cindy is cut out using a Spellbinders 'Elegant Ovals' die, and then adorned with a daugther greeting (another CBS set), punched leaves (ash leaf, woodware), and flowers from the 'Lattice' die set by Paper Smooches. I finished the card by adding some tiny pearls.

The image is Baseball Boots by Just Inklined, and is coloured with promarkers.
I teamed this up with a different sheet of paper from that same pad.
Dies used are alphabet by Tattered Lace, and a cArt-Us border die (fountain). I finished the card with some flat-back pink crystals.

I'd like to enter this card at Simon Says Stamp (weds) - anything goes

Thanks for looking, have a fab weekend! xx
