Hippie Birthday

I have a 'groovy' birthday card to show you today...

The image is from Hippie Chick Birdbrain. In this set you get the main Birdbrain image, two accessory images, and six bonus sentiments, one of which i've used here.
I coloured the image using promarkers, and then added a little clear wink of stella to the eyelids and pendant.
I teamed up 2 old papers by My Mind's Eye, both from their Stella & Rose collections, one from 'Mabel', the other from 'Hattie'. I'd forgotten how much I love the papers in those collections.

I'm entering this card at:

Lucky Lil Birdie

It's Monday, so you know what that means don't you? Yep, it's time for a new I {heart}sketches challenge for From The Heart Stamps :)

Here's sketch #167...

The twist this time is 'Easy does it', so, make a simple card, or maybe use a relaxing image (there's lots in the store that could fit this challenge). There is also an option of using the colour palette shown above the sketch. So you can choose the sketch, the twist, the colours... or have a go at all 3 if you'd like to!
One lucky challenger will win 2 images of their choice from the store :)
Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible for the random draw, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too. Thanks :)

Here is my card...

I chose to use the sketch as it has a simple design, and  also to use similar colours too.
The adorable new image is Lucky Lil Birdie, and it comes with 3 bonus sentiments too.
I coloured the image with promarkers, and then added clear wink of stella to the horseshoe, and glossy accents to the clovers and the lil birdie's beak, just wish you could see this in the photo!
Those bright, beautiful papers are both by Lawn Fawn (Let's Polka in the Meadow).
I chose not to add a sentiment this time, preferring to add one at a later date.

I'm entering this card at:
Simon Says Stamp (Weds) - Bit O' Green
QKR Stampede - Anything goes (no twist used)
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything goes
Crafting From The Heart - Anything goes

Thank you for stopping by today, have a great week :)

Hello Baby Connor!

He's here, He's here!!  :)

Our new grandbaby, Connor, born at 00:08 today, weighing 7lb 15oz.
Mother and baby both very well.
We almost shared a birthday, it was mine yesterday, but he wanted his own special day. Still, the best. birthday. present...... EVER!
I feel so blessed that I was there at his birth, and that I was asked to cut his cord. *So proud!*

He's such a handsome little chap, and absolutely perfect. I instantly fell in love again as soon as I saw him.
I'm sorry, I can't share any photos online, even though I would love to show you how beautiful my 3 grandchildren are.

I had this card made ready last week, so happy that I can now share it :)
When Connor's brother, RJ was born, I made this card for his arrival, and I wanted to use the same layout for Connor's card too...

I also decided to use papers that although aren't identical, they are from the same paper pad, oh and a stamp from Lili of the Valley too, although not the same image.
The stamp used here is called Sleepy Time. Unfortunately, the stamp is retired now though :(
I stamped with Memento black ink, and coloured it with promarkers.
The papers are from Snips & Snails, by Doodlebug.
'baby' is a word die by Clearly Besotted Stamps.
