Sweet Stampin sketch time

Yep, this week over at Sweet Stampin there's a sketch challenge for you to have fun with :)
We are sponsored this week by Simply Betty Stamps who are offering FIVE digi images to this weeks winner :)
Sadly, I wasn't able to print out a simply betty image for my card this week as my printer ink was empty, so I used another cutie instead, this was actually a freebie with a craft mag and the set is called 'Molly Blooms'...

I coloured her with ProMarkers to match the fab retro papers and cardstock that I have used. The paper is a download from craftsUprint, I also made the gift wallet & punched out the flowers from the same sheet too, although I didn't have enough SU apricot appeal cardstock when it came to making the wallet, as I only had scraps left, so I used white and blush blossom cardstock instead.
Both sentiments are from SU as well.

Well my fellow sweeties have created the most gorgeous examples for you this week, including Fluff who isn't even in team Carrie LOL! but is a sweetie none the less ;) please go visit them and leave some love, thank you.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend! xx

Just for you

Isn't this Tilda adorable?
My very kind friend Terry sent this image to me, thank you Terry, she's lovely xx
I coloured her with my ProMarkers to match the papers i've used.
The backing paper is another design from the same nitwit collection I've been using lately, also you may have noticed that I have used the same checked paper as I have in my last 2 SS cards as well. I don't know why, but I've been drawn to that paper lately, but I promise I'll use different papers and a different colour combo next week! :)
The sentiment is from a freebie stamp set with my craft mag, I stamped it 3 times for the sentiment runner. The 3 cute little mulberry roses were in my stash, given to me in a mixed bag of goodies ages ago, they were too pale for this card though, so I gave them a bit of colour with the same blue ProMarker that I used to colour in the rose in the image. Don't laugh at the leaves! I didn't have a suitable small rose leaf so I pinched out some small fern leaves, coloured them with old olive SU ink, then trimmed them down to a more rose leaf-like shape :/

This is my card for this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge, we are sponsored by The Craft Barn this week, and if you are our challenge winner, you could get your crafty hands on an adorable cherub/valentine stamp set!
You know you want it ;) so please give this weeks sketch a go and get yourselves added to mr linky to be in with a chance of winning!

My fellow SS sisters have created more delightful cards, please go visit their amazing blogs. And Bente and Karita will be commenting this week too :)  although they didn't have to join in with making a card as they only joined the team a few days ago and I wanted them to settle in and find their way around, so didn't want to rush them. We all look forward to seeing what they make next week though eh? ;)

Back in a mo with another sketch card :)

Thank you Karen xx

Thank you to Karen for passing on this lovely award to me, The Love Blog Award...

I'm really touched by this, especially as there are so many deserving people who have wonderful blogs, full of stories and inspiration.

There are a couple of conditions to the award...

Create a post where you add the LOVE BLOG AWARD. (check!)

Choose 3-5 favourite blogs which you also link to in your blog and then each blogger will let you know they have been tagged. (check! see below)

The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light, so I would ask you not to blog to fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers.

It's hard to choose just 5 bloggers , because so many deserve this award.
I've decided to pass on this award to...

Jilli  makes scrummy cards, and always matches the perfect image to its equally perfect sentiment. This talented lady makes her own confectionery too, (her turkish delight is totally yummy!) she even hand makes the gift boxes for them too!

Jeanette  such a talented cardmaker, Jeanette knows how to lay out her cards, i'm in awe of her colouring skills, and whenever I look at her work it makes me say "WOW!"

Terry  is one of the happiest and upbeat people I have the pleasure of knowing, she is a busy working wife and mother, but always finds time to sit and craft with fabulous results

Mrs A  Extremely talented lady, who can make just about anything, she must have a love affair with her sewing machine because everything she makes is perfect.

Faye,  Mrs A's daughter, affectionately named 'Fluff', who has one of the friendliest, funniest! and always inspiring blogs that I know of, if you haven't visited her yet then I urge you to, you'll definately go back for more tales from Faye's World ;)

Ladies... thanks for the sharing your wonderful blogs with the world!

We are sponsored by Bugaboo!

I love Bugaboo Stamps, so when Jodie contacted me to sponsor Sketch Saturday I was delighted! :)
You will be delighted too if you are our challenge winner this week, because Jodie is offering SEVEN digis of your choice for this weeks prize! woohooooo!

Here's my card, a bit of a rushed one due to the DT call we have had over at SS...

Now I did have every intention of using a Bugaboo image this week, but time got away from me so I used this Hanglar image that I had already coloured with ProMarkers.
All I had to do was choose papers that look ok with the image, I chose cream cardstock, cream glitter cardstock, checked paper from the same Bitty scrap pad that I used in last weeks card and blue paper from Nitwit collections (the paper used for the circle)
The sentiment was a free stamp with a craft mag.
I have used foam adhesive behind the image itself, and used my SU eyelet border punch on the glittered card, found out that SU punches don't like glitter card as much as regular card (well my punch didn't seem to anyway!) but it doesn't look too bad.

Please go look at the other beautiful cards made by the design team, quite a mix and totally brilliant :)

No sweet stampin card from me this week, as it's the turn of Team Fluff!
FAB challenge this week... it's clear as mud! ;)

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your weekend xx

New Baby Boy

NO! not me!! lol

My daughters friend has just had a baby boy and here is the card i've made...

The thing is, I had run out of baby blue cardstock for the dungarees! so I printed a sheet off with my printer, phew! The paler blue paper in the background was also made by myself, it does have a very subtle check design on it, although it is hard to see in the photo.
The buttons are card stock too, and I used white cotton to 'thread' them.
The other 'stitching' is paper piercing and a white gel pen.
The sentiment is from SU's fun and fast notes stamp set.

I'd like to enter this card into the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday, which has the theme 'monochrome'... i'm just in time to enter, deadline is 8pm today!
Also Totally Gorjuss have the theme 'cuddly' this week, now i've not used a cuddle image, but a new baby is lovely to cuddle so maybe i'm allowed to enter???
Another fab challenge is CES challenges, who don't want to see designer papers, well I have made my own on the pc so think that qualifies :)

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day xx

Even if you're photo phobic!!

If you are anything like me, you will hate to have your photo taken.
The challenge over at Sweet Stampin this week is to 'add a photo', the chosen theme by my teamie Alie.
First thought.... arrrrrgh!  I don't 'do' photos!
so I had to look elsewhere, I realised that I had bought a download from CraftsUprint a couple of months ago and hadn't yet made anything with it. The download was for 2 snow pictures.
So if you, like me, are 'photo phobic' ...don't panic! you can still play ;)
Take a piccy of scenery, or your dog, cat, hamster, rabbit, or anything else that you'd like to put on a card or scrapbook page and enter this weeks challenge.

Here's what I made (don't shout at me for making a crimbo card! i'm getting in early for xmas 2011) lol

the front

the back

I started by printing the snow pictures onto 220gsm cardstock.
I uesd acetate to make an A6 card blank.
The first image was matted onto pale blue paper and mounted onto the front of the card, I added the greeting (by Catslife Press) by stamping onto the same blue paper, then added 2 large felt snowflakes (by SU) and finished the front by using lots of crystal gems.
The other picture is inserted inside the card but 'back to front' so that the plain back of the picture can be used to write a greeting and the image itself can be seen from the back of the card as shown in the photo above.

Our sponsor this week is Tiddly Inks who are donating a $10 shopping spree to this weeks winner!

And remember we have a monthly sponsor too! This month it's Whimsy Stamps! but you need to take part in our weekly challenge to be in the draw to win.

Before I go, i'd like to enter this card into the challenge at Papertake Weekly, who have the theme 'cold and frosty morning'

Happy crafting, and have a lovely weekend :)

Bunny Zoe's sponsors Sketch Saturday :)

Happy Saturday everyone :)
Time to show you my DT card for Sketch Saturday.
By the way, a huge THANK YOU if you joined our facebook page! :)

This week we are sponsored by Bunny Zoe's Crafts and you could be the winner of a £10 shopping spree in their fab store if you are chosen as our challenge winner!

Here's my card...

I decided to choose an image that you can buy from Bunny Zoe's, it's a stamp by High Hopes and is called 'Seymores Sick Day'
I used my ProMarkers to colour in this poorly dragon.
The papers are from the 'windswept' collection from Provo Crafts Bitty Scrap Pad.
The sentiment is by SU.
I added foam 'pills' at the top right corner to finish the card.

No jokes about blue tablets please! LOL
the colours were chosen to compliment the colours in the papers ;)

I'd like to enter this card into this weeks challenge over at Stamp Something, who have an 'anything goes' theme as long as we, well, stamp something! :)

Just a note to remind you that applications for our DT call close at 10am this coming Friday (21st).
Thank you to the many talented crafters that have emailed me so far :)
The decision is going to be a very tough one!

Back in a minute with my Sweet Stampin DT card :)

HUBBY Birthday!

My husband is 39 today :)
He usually tries to book the day off work for his birthday, but was unable to this year :(
My hubby doesn't like a lot of fuss (he prefers to fuss over me!)
so I asked 'do you want to go out for a meal for your birthday?'
Nope, he wants to stay at home, so i'll be cooking him a mixed grill instead.
He's in Wales today (he left at 4.30 this morning) and he might be later getting home too (around 7pm), so I can't really blame him for wanting to stay in, have a meal, have a drink or 2 then snooze in front of the telly.

Here's the card that I have made for him...

sorry that the pic isn't too good, it's very dull here today.

The cardstock, beer stamp, balloon stamp, and sentiment are all SU
The paper is by Provocraft (had it when I had a cricut machine)
The 'hubby' is chipboard letters, I covered them in glue and added glitter but it's hard to see in the pic.

I'm going to enter this into the challenge at Charisma Cardz, this week the theme is birthdays and celebrations.
I already entered the challenge with the 21st birthday card I made (below) but we are allowed to enter upto 3 times, so here goes :)

for a few challenges

I'm entering a few challenges with a card that I made for my daughters friend's 21st birthday...

I have used SU cardstock, and the SU stamp set 'cheers to you' for the 3 cocktail images.
The dotty paper is by Kaisercraft, it's from their Christmas Carnival collection and was free with a mag.
I added a bit of glitter to the number 21 in the handwritten sentiment, and a few glitter dots to represent bubbles on the drinks.
The navy ribbon I have had for years, probably 3 or 4 years, so it's about time I used it eh?

I'd like to enter this card to the following challenges...

Papertake Weekly - anything goes

Charisma Cardz - birthdays and celebrations (happy 2nd birthday charisma!)

Cute Card Thursday - out with the old (my ribbon)

thanks for stopping by today :)

Happy New Year!

I hope 2011 brings you all everything you hope and wish for xx

I'm kicking off the new year with 2 DT cards, first...

Sketch Saturday, we have our first DT week of the year, and it's the turn of the lovely Jilli to provide this weeks fab sketch, here's my card...

I used some free nitwit papers that I received in a craft mag, Jill's sketch really lets us show off the papers we use this week don't you think? the image is by SU (fun and fast notes set)
This week we are sponsored by the fab Paulette from TLC creations, if you need to find a quote for a card or scrapbook page, then you're bound to find something suitable there.
Sketch Saturday have a new GD for the month of January too... we welcome the talented Barbara McGahey who will be wowing us with her cards this month, thank you Barbara! :)

Now we move onto Sweet Stampin, and this week we want to see 'Your Favourite Song'
well this one isn't my exact favourite but I do love it, and it's a great song for the new year... 'Get this party started' by Pink.
Here's my card...

The image was sent to me by my friend Terry (thanks hunni)  I just love this little guy waiting for the party to get going :)
The papers are by SU, the flowers are also SU, stamped & punched out using their products.
This week sweet stampin is sponsored by Tiffany Doodles, and our monthly sponsor is Whimsy Stamps, well worth taking part this week eh? ;)

Happy Crafting! xx
