It's Thursday, so you know what that means... time for some fun over at Little Miss Muffet, and this time we have a new challenge, we're asking you to follow a sketch.
I love sketches, they're a great starting point, and often influence which papers or image you'll use on your card. This time, I chose the adorable Birthday Bunny, available from Little Miss Muffet Stamps...
I've coloured the image 3 times with my promarkers, then layered it with foam pads to 3D it.
Next, I followed the sketch layout with my papers (SU's dsp 'not quite navy' and 'Fabrications' by Teresa Collins). The band across the card was inspired by the gift i'd coloured on the image, first using olive green coloured seam binding, then cutting a strip of yellow card to lay on top. I quickly decided that the yellow needed a little something, just a plain band didn't look right, so I decided to change it to faux ric rac by using a scallop punch. There, much better :)
Check out the sketch for yourself, and see the fantastic cards made by the other Little Misses by visiting the Little Miss Muffet challenge blog. You can use any image you'd like to enter the challenge once, but we love it when you use a LMM or pollycraft image, so if you use one the theme is anything goes and you can enter as many times as you'd like to.
I'm entering this card at:
Passion for Promarkers - add ribbon, lace or twine (seam binding counts right?)
Wags n Whiskers - anything goes
Allsorts - happy birthday
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Thanks for stopping by today :)

Pearls n Leather
This card is for my cousins daughter who celebrates her 18th birthday next week...
The image is by Stitchy Bear, well actually it's an image of one shoe, I flipped it, then added another shoe as I prefer the look of the pair, although I did print the single shoe with pearls again so That I could layer it with foam pads. I printed an additional string of pearls too, after colouring them, I cut them out and gave them a touch of Anita's 3D clear gloss. Once dry, I glued them on top.
The papers used are by Dovecraft (spotty), Samantha Walker 'cuckoo 4 u' (floral) cut with a xcut scalloped circle die, and a ditressed pale pink piece found in my stash. The pretty border was made using a xcut punch (sparkle), I used more punches to make the daisies and the leaves, punch out the number 18, and create the faux ric rac. Flat back pearls and gems finish the card.
I'd like to enter this at:
Wags n Whiskers - anything goes
Stampin for the weekend - monochrome
Crafting when we can - punches and/or die cuts
My Mums Craft Shop - spots or stripes
Paper Makeup - anything goes (digi)
thanks for looking :)

To You Happy Birthday I Wish
You know the Vulcan card I made yesterday for my daughter's boyfriend, the Star Trek fan? well he is also a Star Wars fan too, so I made this card for my son to give him...
I don't own a Star Wars related stamp, then remembered that I have a folder on my pc of free for personal use images (if memory serves, the website is a colouring pages site), anyway, I found Yoda in there. Perfect. I printed him out via my paint program, whilst making a suitable greeting to go with it.
I've used patterned paper from the same pad as I used in my Monster Hugs card, the paper is by Provocraft, 'tags, bags, boxes & more'.
I wanted to add his name to the card but thought I would use the negative of the die cut for a change.
I'd like to enter this card at:
The Pink Elephant - masculine birthday
ABC challenge - N for not just one (I added 3 stars)
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend :)
UPDATE: Thanks go to The Pink Elephant DT who thought this card was unforgettable! wahoo! :)

Kraft, Red and White
It's Thursday, so that means that there's something going on over at Little Miss Muffet. This week we have a new challenge for you, a colour challenge, kraft, red & white. Now you can colour on to kraft if you'd like to, or you can do as I did and colour on white, but use the 3 colours in your design. Simples!
I kept my layout simples too, just layers of punched cardstock and paper across a stamped background, because I wanted my image to be the star of this show! (plus I have room at the bottom if I want to add a name before sending out).
He is of course Letter Chester, available in rubber from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.
Oooooh I love Chester! He's so adorable isn't he?
I've used my promarkers to colour him, added a stamped greeting to his envelope, then gave him a fur trim with a glue pen and some white flock.
The snowflake stamps used on the base card are both from a set called Enchanted Christmas from HOTP. I used white craft ink from SU, then gently used my heat gun to dry the ink. Next time I stamp snowflakes onto kraft though, I think i'll use white embossing powder so those snowflakes would pop out more.
The spotty paper is also by HOTP (forever christmas).
The 2 punches used are, SU's eyelet border, and Xcut's diamond.
Here's a close up showing the white flocked fur trim...
Awwww, look how cute he is.
Have I told you how much I love Chester? ;)
I'd like to enter this card at:
Sweet Stampin - clean and simple
Incy Wincy - animal antics
I love Promakers - simply does it
Crafty Creations - KISS
The Paper Shelter - anything goes

Live long and prosper
No prizes for guessing that this is a birthday card for a Star Trek fan lol.
The Vulcan is a fantastic image from MayzyArt, and it's a freebie! One to add to your collection eh?
I teamed it up with a freebie starship image I found on the web. Both are coloured with promarkers.
I chose not to use patterned papers on this card, instead, I used blue and silver mirror card, and a few gem 'control panel lights', the result is very shiny!
For the sentiment, I googled 'Happy Birthday' in Vulcan, that's the result, I do hope it's correct and not something rude, lol, but then Vulcan isn't well known, so I could probably get away with it anyway ;)
Hope my daughter's boyfriend likes his card.
I'd like to enter this card at:
MayzyArt challenge - for the boys
Cupcake - lots of layers
The Pink Elephant - masculine birthday
UPDATE: I won first prize at MayzyArt! :)

Blue Christmas
I'm late with my Rudolph day card for the challenge over at Aunty's Forum this month, but as the challenge is set until the 25th of the following month, when there will be a new one set, i'm still ok.
This time, Karen set the challenge, and gave us a theme of Blue Christmas.
Here's my card...
Both the image and sentiment are from the same set, a freebie with a craft mag last year, made by Hot Off The Press, and called 'enchanted christmas' (I've used the snowflakes from the set on this card). I stamped them with SU ink, ballet blue. I forgot how much of a lovely shade of blue this colour is. The patterned paper is by Echo Park and is from their 'All I want for Christmas' collection.
I followed Amy's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. I'll be entering this card there, as well as:
Crafty Creations - KISS
The Crafty Bloggers Network - O's and X's challenge
(Ribbon, Stamps, Gems)
Thanks for looking :)

Monster Hugs
You've got to know by now that Paula has reopened Pollycraft...YAY!
If you didn't know, then you heard it here first, lol ;)
Oooooh and there's a DT call going on right now!
I have treated myself to some of the new images, this is one of them, Monster Hugs...
This is my entry for the DT call. Fingers crossed.
What a perfect fathers day image eh?
I've coloured this fab image with promarkers, and added a bit of doodling around the edges to frame it.
I decided on another folded card, this time a side stepper.
This will be my hubbys fathers day card from our son, Jake. Now Jake has been given a few nicknames over the years, one of them is Monse, short for monster, not that he was a little monster really, but hey they all go through the terrible two's don't they? so it just sort of stuck, and to this day his dad still calls him Monse.
When I saw this image, I knew it was perfect for his fathers day card this year, even though Jake isn't so little anymore (he'll be 15 in November) it will show his dad of how close a bond they still have, they're the best of friends.
The patterned papers are both from the same pad, by Provocraft, called tags, bags, boxes & more. I bought this pad what seems like eons ago now, back in the day when I had a cricut machine.
I'd like to enter this card into:
Crafty Creations - something old/something new
Crafty Catz - anything goes
Passion for Promarkers - Doodleicious
Thanks for stopping by xx

Foster Fawn & friends
Happy Thursday everyone, fancy crafty shopping? Yes? well there's some fab new rubber images released today over at Little Miss Muffet to get your inky fingers on ;)
The collection, Forest Friends, is perfect for this time of year and includes the most adorable little characters, Rachel, Sabina, Stuart, Trevor, Orlando, Quella, Rosa, and here's Foster Fawn...
SO sweet eh? and is a dream to colour too ;)
If you've seen the new release, you may notice that I have also used butterfly, dragonfly and mushroom images too to create the whole scene for this card.
I started by positioning all the images to where I wanted them, then sponged in the sky. Using the images again to lay on top, coloured with promarkers. Foster got extra layers which I adhered together with glue (rather than use foam pads) for more subtle layering...

I created faux stitching with a paper pricking tool and then used a thin marker dragged over the holes.
I've used that gorgeous green floral paper again that I don't know the name of ;) However, the spotty piece I do know, it's by Dovecraft.
UPDATE: Thanks to Faye, I now know that the green paper is by Fancy Pants, from the Beach Babe collection, this sheet is called 'sand dollar'... Thank you Faye! xx

The scalloped border is from a cArt-Us die. I added a few gems for a touch of sparkle.
Finally, I added the sentiment which is actually a close match for my deer card, and was found on a small sheet of sentiments that were free with a craft mag.
You're going to love this collection of cuties. You can also buy Zabel, she had been previously available as a digi but can now be found in rubber instead :)
You can see more examples of Foster, Rachel and the gang by popping over to the LMM challenge blog to see the lovely creations made by the other Little Misses.
By the way, there's still time to enter our current challenge of paper piecing too ;)
Happy crafting!
I'd like to enter this card at:
Sweet Stampin - create a scene
Papertake Weekly - a/goes (option: use 2 stamps)
Passion for Promarkers - birthdays (incl a sentiment)
thanks for looking xx

Pieced Off!
Today has a new challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Challenges, and this time we want you to include some paper piecing to your project please.
As soon as I saw 'nice weather for ducks' I knew I wanted to paper piece that umbrella...
I started by printing out the image and then printed just the brolly part twice more onto my patterned papers so that I could cut out the pieces to fit exactly. The papers incidently are by Pink Paislee, from their Circa' 2012 paper pack. I used the same paper to make the little flowers too using a daisy punch, finished with a sparkly gem at their centre and shimmery gold vellum punched leaves.
The image is coloured with my usual promarkers, and was a dream to colour. The sentiment is computer generated, and the border pieces, which look a little like raindrops, were cut using a cArt-Us die.
I think i'm going to make more of these stepper cards, I really enjoy making them.
Okidoki, over to you now ;)
The challenge will run for 2 weeks, giving you plenty of time to join us ;)
If you have a Little Miss Muffet or Pollycraft image to use, then the challenge theme for you is anything goes, if you don't, then you can still join in as long as you paper piece somewhere.(but hey, if you haven't tried paper piecing before, give it a go, you'll love the end result)
To take part and also see what the other Little Misses have created please click HERE.
I'd like to enter this card at:
Passion for Promarkers - to die for (use at least one die or punch)
Stampin for the Weekend - use diecuts and/or punches
Crafty Cardmakers - April showers bring May flowers
Crafty Calendar - sunshine and showers
Thanks for stopping by today xx

My Hero, My Dad.
I'm getting ahead of myself a little here, this will be my Dad's fathers day card, which is June 16th here in the UK in case you were wondering. I decided to use this image months ago and have been waiting for the date to get a little closer before making the card. Today is perfect, because it's my turn to set the monthly challenge at Aunty's Forum, and I decided on the theme 'From Boys to Men'... to make a male card.
The fantastic image is Super Hero by Kenny K, and is coloured with promarkers.
The sentiment was found online and I think it's perfect for this image, don't you?
The text paper is from my Kanban Male Backgrounds CD. Although I did have to alter the colour in my paint program to get the shade I wanted.
Finally I added some punched stars. And that's it, who said male cards are difficult to make eh?
I'm entering this card at:
Craft Your Passion - well read (use text somewhere)
Passion for Promarkers - to die for (use at least one die or punch)
Card Crafters Circle - masculine cards
Sweet Stampin - anything but birthdays
