A sweet goodbye

Today is the last challenge over at Sweet Stampin for our current Design team :(
I have loved working alongside these talented ladies for the past 6 months, they each have their own fab unique style, which I am going to miss on sweet stampin (unless they take part in future challenges of course!)
I will continue to work with Terry on the Sketch Saturday DT, and I really hope that I get a chance to work with Margreet, Rach & Jayne again too in the near future.
Whatever happens, we will remain great friends! :)

So, on to this weeks challenge ... we want you to PIMP YOUR CARD!
You can add lots of bling and embellies to your work for this one ;)

Here is mine...

OK, I admit it! I had trouble with this theme and i'm still not liking the end result.
But I couldn't think of anything else to do so here it is :/

After i'd completed the card and looked at it I immediately thought of...

Cardstock used, SU Whisper White and Basic Black, the black piece is punched at one end with SU's spiral punch.
I've used the star stamp from SU's 'Fun & Fast Notes' stamp set with whisper white ink, then added a bit of glitter to parts of the stars with a glitter pen.
The sentiment is also from the same set.
I then added extra white dots to extend the ends of the stars and to fill up a bit of space.
The pearlised discs are recycled from an old broken bracelet! I kept them but never got around to using them before.
Finally, I drew faux stitching around in both white and black to complete the card.

So sadly we say a sweet goodbye to Terry, Margreet, Rach & Jayne, but please do drop by their blogs to see their last piece of DT work,, and please leave them some love while you're there. Thank you. xx

Sketch Saturday's 2nd Birthday!!

WOW! I can hardly believe that Sketch Saturday is 2 years old!
Thank you to each and every one of the amazing Challengers, generous Sponsors, talented Design Team (past & present) as well as our fabulous Guest Designers for making this blog as popular as it is today :)

By way of a personal thank you, Sketch Saturday challengers are invited to enter in our personal blog candies!
Our PBC (Party Bag Candy) was so much fun to do last year!
Some of the design team have put together a small package to say thank you to one SS challenger, please go to each blog and put your name down on the relevant post,
PLEASE NOTE: you are only eligible to enter each DT members party bag candy once, and ONLY if you've already taken part in this weeks challenge too (please provide a link to your work in your comment on each DT members blog that you visit)
We want to thank sketch saturday challengers so this is why it's only open to SS entrants!
(we will be checking!)
Each Party Bag Candy will close on the DT members blogs at 8:00 AM (UK time) on Friday 4th June, please note: FRIDAY MORNING. No entries will be accepted after this time, sorry.
This is so that the DT members can let me know their winner's name so that I can get the post ready for the following morning to announce the winners :)

However, the normal SS challenge (open to all who leave a link on the main SS blog) will run until 11:59PM UK time on the Friday evening as normal

The sketch is the same obviously, so make your card/project & then leave a link on the main SS blog so you are eligible to win this weeks prize kindly donated by The Craft Barn, then, if you want to be entered into the party bag candy too with the chance to win an extra prize, leave the same link on the blog of each DT member too, if they use mr linky or inlinkz then please use that, if not then please leave a direct link to your work in their comments box.
If your entry can't be found easily then you could miss out on winning, so please do try to leave a direct link, thanks :)

Here is my PBC, it's a wallet,
but i'm not telling you what's inside, that's a surprise for the winner :)

I've used my lovely SU Tea Party papers again :)
The base cardstock is So Saffron, I've also used some Pretty in Pink & Certainly Celery cardstock too the lightest pink card is just a scrap piece (not SU)
I used my eyelet border punch to make the scalloped edge, my boho blossoms punch to make the flowers (I used just the smallest flower on the punch)
and the image is from SU's 'A flower for all seasons' stamp set.
I wrote 'For You' by hand underneath the image.

I hope you will join in with us this week! Not only could you win the main prize by The Craft Barn, but you could also win one of the PBC's made by the DT!
Just remember to leave a direct link to your own work to be eligible to win :)
Good Luck! xx

To be in with a chance of winning MY party bag candy, please leave your entry here...

PBC NOW CLOSED
Thank you for entering...good luck!

Lisa's special RAK for her sister

Lisa has a very special RAK request to all crafters to bring a bit of love and happiness to her terminally ill sister, Jayme. Please try to join in if you have the time.
Jayme is a HUGE froggy fan so if you can make and send a card to her that has a frog theme then all the better, but any card you make will surely be appreciated.

You can read all about Lisa's RAK event by CLICKING HERE

There are some fabulous prizes available too.

I will be updating this post soon with my card... when I've made it,
I love frogs too so this is no problem for me to send a bit of froggy love to Jayme.

EDITED TO ADD:
Here's the card I have made for Jayme...

I wrote out the caption myself, I guessed that would be what the butterfly would be thinking lol
Hope Jayme likes my card! :)

Thank you so much Maya xx

Look what the postman has just put through my letterbox! :)

Isn't this the most gorgeous card!!
The totally amazing Maya, has made this stunning creation to thank me for her new blog header.
Maya's work always blows me away when I see it, each one is it's own masterpiece, from her awesome colouring skills, the yummiest of papers, then all the extra pretty touches she adds that make her work totally gorgeous. And let me tell you it's just as gorgeous on the inside and the back too :)
Not only did I receive this stunning card, but she sent me this oh so cute Hanglar stamp as well!

Maya, thank you so much my lovely friend, you're so very kind and thoughtful.
Lots of love, Jo xx

A Sweet Stampin sketch

Hello, i'm back with another card for you.
This weeks challenge over at Sweet Stampin is a sketch...

Here is my card...

I got out my acetate again for this one and started this card by creating an oval window at the front.
The papers are from the Tea Party collection by Stampin Up, this time a different side to the paper used in my earlier card.
The flowers are from my trusty boho blossoms punch, these are getting to be a bit of a trademark with me, as I tend to grab my b.b. punch as soon as I think of flowers.
The sunflower image is from SU's 'A flower for all seasons' stamp set.
The sentiment is from the 'yummy' set.

I already told my fellow sweet stampin sisters that I wish I had coloured the sunflowers to match the punched flowers, or punched the flowers in colours to match the sunflowers, but never mind, it still looks ok.

For more great examples of cardmaking loveliness please go visit the rest of the talented DT >>>
thanks for dropping by, have a fabulous weekend! xx

Sketch Saturday time!

Good Morning!
Hope you are all well.
We've had a marvellous warm & sunny week here :)
Well it's Saturday, so time for another challenge over at Sketch Saturday

this week you could win a $15.00 gift certificate courtesy of Whimsy Stamps! :)

Here is my card this week...

The DSP is Tea Party by Stampin Up, aren't they pretty?! I love this collection :)
I also used SU lovely lilac cardstock as the base card.
The adorable image was given to me by my friend Terry (thanks hunni) I used SU markers to colour Tilda in.
The sentiment is also by SU, from their Fun & Fast Notes set.

Thank you for looking, I hope you like the card, please stop by my fellow DT members blogs to see their fabulous creations, the links, as always, are in my sidebar >>>

Thank you, back in a hour!

For little Leon...

This weeks challenge over at Sweet Stampin is called 'Get Personal'
... to make a personalised project.
My friend Mariska recently gave birth to a new addition to her family, a baby boy named Leon (have you seen his photo? - he's so cute!)
I made this to say hello to little Leon and I really hope that Mariska has received it already.

I used my eyelet border punch on the white card base, then used paper from the Bashful Blue patterns pack on top of that, I used the same paper (but in a different pattern) and Bashful Blue cardstock to make the lion's head using my SU punches, the scalloped circle 'mane' was punched twice to create the shape. The letters were printed off my pc, cut out, sponged a little and mounted onto white cardstock, then cut out again and the whole lot added to the card with foam pads.
The baby boy & star stickers used were from my stash.

Please remember to stop by my fellow DT members blogs to see their wonderful work this week!
as always, the links to their blogs can be found over there >>>

#103

Happy Saturday everyone!
It's time for another challenge over at Sketch Saturday :)
and this week you could win £15 worth of craft goodies from Bunny Zoe's Crafts!

Here is my effort for this week...

Now I'm calling it an effort because I really am not happy with this card for some reason.
Can't put my finger on the reason why because the image is beautiful (thanks Terry!), maybe it's my colouring that turns me off it?
The papers are freebies from a craft mag and are made by My Minds Eye.
The sentiment is from a SeeD's set.

To see some beautiful creations please go visit my fellow DT members :)
Thanks for dropping by, I will be back in a hour ;)

A zingy colour combo!

We have another colour combo for you over at Sweet Stampin this week :)

lovely fresh citrusy colours don't you think? (is citrusy spelt that way or is it 2 S's?)
anyway, here's my card ...

I used my SU 'Tart n Tangy' stamp set for this one and my eyelet border punch to create the bottom edge.
The sentiment is hand written and thought it matched the segments well :)
My daughter says that whoever receives this card must have a bag of Haribo Tangfastic sour sweets with it too lol.
Zingy!!!

Please drop by my fellow DT members blogs to see their fabulous work this week.
Their links are in my sidebar >>>

Not forgetting Chelsea, our wonderful GD for May :)

No pips!

Time for another sketch over at Sketch Saturday :)
and this week I set myself a personal extra challenge and tried to keep to just one colour palette, my favourite colour... green.
You don't have to do this though, just follow the sketch using any colours you wish.

I made this get well soon card...

All paper & cardstock is by Stampin Up, the centre panel has been stamped with an old stamp that I bought off ebay ages ago.
The grapes were made by using a small circle punch, then I inked the edges and added a white gel pen highlight, then arranged to form a bunch.
& no pips in sight! ;)

For more inspiration please go check out the other DT cards.
Links can be found over there >>>
It's so exciting this week too, our 2 new ladies, Jilli & Lena, have got straight into their DT work and made wonderful cards to show you :)
Actually, these ladies have been crafting like demons this past week and have produced some spectacular work for the coming weeks! My thanks go to both of them xx

Back soon with another card :)

Sweet Stampin in the Summer time!

Hmmm, not been very Summery these past couple of days here, but hope that this card looks summery enough for this weeks challenge over at Sweet Stampin, where the challenge is called 'Summer Time'...

The image is from SU's 'summer by the sea' set, I love this little girl image it's one of my favourites. I coloured her with SU markers and a blender pen on the grass.
Other SU stash used... Pretty in Pink & Summer Sun cardstock, a stamp from the 'spring solitude' set (stamped in white on the pink card base), a spiral punch, & a round tab punch.

My fellow DT members have created gorgeous work to inspire you, please stop by their blogs to go see for yourself, the links can be found on Sweet Stampin or in my sidebar over there >>>

It's a new month so we have a new guest designer to welcome to the team,
Chelsea (aka Gurlee Girl) will be with us for the whole of May, great to have you on board Chelsea!
Please go see Chelsea's stunning card for this weeks challenge :)

Gurlee Girl is also our sponsor for May too, you could win a whopping $20 to spend in her store! Fab prize eh? :)

Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely weekend/bank holiday xx

Maya's challenge...

It's the first saturday of the month so that means it's my week off! :)
well, sort of, I get a week off from designing a sketch for Sketch Saturday and leave it in the more than capable hands of my fellow design team members, this weeks sketch has been created by the lovely Maya.
I get to make a card using her fab sketch...

The papers used are from provocraft, when I had a cricut machine I bought their paper pack which is supposed to be used with the tags and bags cartridge, I didn't own the cartridge but loved the papers anyway.
The image is a stamp I bought off eBid ages ago, I bought 6 teddy themed stamps for only about £5 or £6... bargain!

This month we welcome a new guest designer to our team... Nina Kortkrok. Her work is so beautiful, you'll love what she makes and will surely inspire you.
And of course for more inspiration please go visit the rest of the talented Design Team >>>

Okidoki, thanks for looking, will be back in a hour with my sweet stampin card ;)
